I just reserved a room for June of 08. I know I read here somewhere about which tower is closest to DD and about rooms with a daybed. I've searched, but can't find the posts I remember reading.

Here's what I need to know:

Which tower is closest to DD - is it the Sierra/Dreams or the Marina/Magic?

Also, I've heard people talk about a daybed in some of the rooms...do you have to have 5 people in a room to get this setup? Are these rooms bigger? Is it best to just say we have 5 people for the reservation to get this type of room?

THANKS!

Yes, Sierra Tower is closest to DD. I definitely would say that you have 5 people in the room. Request Sierra Tower as well.

We had 4 in our room, and they knew we did. We just asked if there were any rooms with daybeds available, and they gave us one, they didn't care if we had 5 people or not.

How did you book your room for June 08? Via phone or package or internet? I've been messing around with booking for next May and there wasn't availability listed as of about a month ago.

Do watch out for the room size, I believe when we were there last in the Sierra Tower we got probably one of the smallest rooms they offer. We were so excited to be there that we didn't bother requesting something different, but if I had known more about what I was doing I would have verified that it was one of the larger SF rooms. We just had three people though, maybe that's why we got what we did.

Just curious, when you got the small room in the Sierra Tower, did you book a standard of view room? (Or was this before they charged more for a view room?) I would hope that the small rooms aren't assigned to someone who pays more. Do you recall what the bed setup was? (2 doubles?)

They just released the 2008 dates for booking a few days ago. I just reserved a room only since there is no cancellation fee (as long as you cancel 72 hours in advance of arrival). I did this over the phone only because I wanted the AAA 10% discount. When we decided to go for sure, I will price out packages and compare to see what is best vs. cheapest.

Thanks to all who answered my questions!
