DL Half Registration Question

I'm definitely going to register for the DL half, and plan to do it prior to the rate increase. I'd like to save the online fee if possible... Will they be taking registrations for it at the Expo this weekend?

No. They only allow for online registration through Active.com. They have had coupon codes in the past but it doesn't look like they will have one this year. You still appear to have to pay the 8.63 processing fee that I just had pop up when I started to register. These races aren't cheap.

They will frequently let you register at some other marathon expos, though. I know last year they had a big display at the Houston marathon where you could register. Maybe they'll have one at a race you're going to in the near future too.

Especially when you click a ton of boxes that scream discount - Are you a Disney Visa Card Holder? Have you run in a Disney race before?, etc. Guess it is just data mining. But, I guess Active.com needs to pay for their services too.

Yeah. I guess one advantage of waiting a little is that I'm planning to change my Chase check card from Continental to Disney (Really bad taste in my mouth from Continental and this whole blizzard thing - I have friends on other airlines who got into NYC way faster than Continental was getting people in...plus the fact that their system essentially hung up on you if you tried to call in "Due to extremely high call volume we are unable to take your call." Legit! So I'm really not looking to fly them any time soon.), so I can do that today and wait for it to come in to register. At least I'll get the points or whatever.

The only thing I know of close-by that will have an expo is the NYC Half March 20, well past the discounts. I'll be better off doing it online - the fee will be less than the increased price. Thanks though.

Just to update...

They DID have registration at the Expo! The "special" they "advertised" was, as I suspected if you did it in person, no extra fee! Woo!! So I'm all set! They had registration for any of their races open for registration and an email list for notification about the W&D.
