Do the fast passes work the same at Disneyland as Disney World??? you can only get one until your start time comes around for the one you have?? Also How strict is DisneyLand if you miss your return window? I know in Disney World they pretty much will let you in even if you missed your return time... Any advice or tips for getting Fast passes at DL??? Which rides run out quickest???

When you get your fastpass you can go anytime after the allotted time. You don't have to use it during the hour window. You can also get a second FP after 2 hrs from when you get the first one or as soon as the time window comes from the first one. I believe there's a sticky on the top of the forums that goes into details on the FP's at DL.

Yes, they work almost exactly the same.

At DL it's similar, except Roger Rabbit (RRCTS) is not connected to the DL network -- when you walk into Mickey's Toontown you can get a FP for Roger Rabbit, even if you just got a FP elsewhere. Also, the FP networks in DL and DCA are not connected -- so you could get a FP in DL, walk to DCA, and right away get another FP in DCA. In DCA, Grizzly River Run (GRRrrrrrrr) used to be disconnected from the DCA FP network, but the latest reports say that GRR is now connected. Maybe at some time GRR could be disconnected again?

In this regard, WDW and DLR are exactly the same, as long as it's the same day.

Yes, read the FP threads in the HydroGuy Tips Compilation (link), which is at the top of this forum.

In DL, the 3 most popular FP rides/attractions are Space Mtn, Splash Mtn, and Indiana Jones (Indy).

In DCA, the 3 most popular are Soarin', Calif. Screamin', and ToT.

FWIW, last week I posted the following: :goodvibes

FPs at DLR work almost exactly like the FPs at WDW.

At MK, the first FP window usually starts about 1 hour after you get the FP, i.e., you get a FP for Space Mtn at 9:05am, and the Return Time will be 10:05 to 11:05am.

At DL, the first FP window will usually start approximately 45 minutes after, i.e., you get a FP for Space Mtn at 8:05am, and the Return Time will be 8:50 to 9:50am.

At DLR (just like WDW), the FP does not have to be used during the Return Time "one hour window." For example, if the Return Time for Space Mtn is 8:50 to 9:50am, then you can return to the FastPass line anytime between 8:50am to DL's closing time, as long as it's the same day.

There are a couple of ways to get multi-FPs at the same time:

- DL's Roger Rabbit (RRCTS) is not connected to DL's FP "network" -- so even if you just got a FP, you can also get a FP for RRCTS.

- DL's and DCA's FP "networks" are not connected, so you could get a FP at DL, then walk across to DCA and right away get another FP in DCA.

- DCA's Grizzly River Run (GRRrrrrrrr) used to be another attraction that was not connected to the DCA FP "network," but lately we've been hearing that it is now connected. GRRrrrrrr may or may not be connected.

There are great FP threads in the HydroGuy Tips Compilation sticky at the top of this forum. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

In the thread "Which Fast Pass First?" (post #4) HydroGuy explains how you could ideally get 6 FPs before 12:00 Noon:
DL
Assume DL opens at 8AM - this is the order you should get your FastPasses in an ideal world. Modify this is as necessary to fit your group, location in the parks, and available time.

1. Space Mtn (get FP @8:10AM - next FP time will be 8:55AM - you can use this FP anytime after 8:55AM)
2. Splash Mtn (get FP @8:55AM - next FP time will be 9:40AM - you can use this FP anytime after 9:40AM)
3. Indiana Jones (get FP @9:40AM - next FP time will be about 10:30AM - you can use this FP anytime after 10:30AM)
4. Buzz Lightyear (get FP @10:30AM - next FP time will be about 11:15AM - you can use this FP anytime after 11:15AM)
5. Big Thunder Mtn RR (get FP @11:15AM - next FP time will be about 12:00PM - you can use this FP anytime after 12:00PM)
6. Autopia (get FP @12:00PM - next FP time will be about 12:45PM - you can use this FP anytime after about 12:45PM)

There is one other FP opportunity at DL: Roger Rabbit. Roger Rabbit is not connected to the DL FP system and you can get one anytime you want without conflict with other DL FastPasses.

Further, I no longer get FPs for Autopia after realizing the FP return line can be a 25 minute wait. If I only had one day at DL, I would get an Autopia FP. But if I had multiple days, I would plan Autopia for an early morning thru the standby line.

DCA

Similar logic holds. Here is the ideal order to get FastPasses:

1. Soaring over Ca
2. California Screamin
3. Tower of Terror
4. Mulholland Madness

HTH :earsboy:

Does Toy Story Mania have fast passes? How should that ride be figured into the equation? Is that ride in DL or DCA? (Sorry... I'm a DL newb!!!)

I know at DHS they run out FAST and if you don't get there before 11:00 am or so on many mornings they are GONE. Is that not the case at DL?

No, but they have a single rider line that is open off and on. :goodvibes It's in DCA.

No FP for TSMM at DCA, sorry. They do have a SR line that they will open during busy times. The line for TSMM moves really fast so it's usually not that long of a wait. As a rule our family won't wait more than 30 min. for a ride tho. :)
