DL Fantasmic worth it?

I'd be interested in learning more about the VIP tour since it would be about the same cost our tickets for Fantasmic! On the disneyland website, it says 6 hour minimum at $125/hr! How did you get your rate?

I have just read on MP that they have upped the price and minimum time requirement for the VIP tour. I'll be posting details in a separate post.

Can someone tell me what the dessert seating is and how it works?

Well, I was going to book a VIP tour - until I found out the prices have gone way up over the last day or two. :sad1:

Now, I'm wondering if we'll need the Fantasmic! buffet package for the late showing on May 25th which is the only day it is showing during our visit. Any thoughts? :confused3

I just looked up the June schedule and I was surprised to see that no Fantasmic is play on the Monday or Tuesday evenings of our 4 nights in the park. There are two shows scheduled for the weekend so anyone staying for the week will be crammed into those shows I would guess. I'm starting to lean towards booking those $59 chairs!

We just booked the Fantasmic seating for early May (9 p.m.) and then we can stay for the fireworks. The only other time we were in DL we did not see either F! or the fireworks, so this is very exciting  We'll take pictures and post when we return for sure!!

If we were going on that day I wouldn't do the buffet.

Then again if we were going, we would already be paying $120 just to get blockout tickets to get into the parks, so an extra 59x3 would be insane.

I can't understand why they aren't having full festivities on Memorial Day itself (aka my boy's birthday). Seems odd to me.

Oh my goodness...........that is ridiculous. Have they changed the group size? I suppose if you are a group of 10 then the cost "could" be worth it............ if you split the cost per person.

My family and I did this tour on 3/25 for 4 hours for what better be $300 (the charge has not even appeared yet on my credit card). I just frantically checked the authorization form I faxed to them which confirmed the cost ($75 per hour) for a 4 hour minimum. Whew....

I'm sorry the changes have occurred for those who were considering this option. :grouphug:

Ah yes, but you'll be going back to DL in the not-so-far-away future to take full advantage of your AP's. ;) Not that I'm envious or anything. :rolleyes1 This might be the ONLY time we visit DL from Scotland. :sad1:

Not that it's a holiday here in the UK or anything, but I am a bit surprised that there is no Fantasmic! on the 26th because it's a holiday for you guys and the park is open late. :confused3 Maybe if you told them it was your little one's birthday, they might add it? :hippie: Well, it's worth a shot!

Thanks. Glad you at least managed to take your tour before the price increase. :flower3:

But since the increase more than doubles the cost for the tour and there is only 3 of us, it's a no-go. :sad2: Well, unless we win the lottery.

Sadly, we're moving into a bigger and more expensive apartment (though it's actually going to save us money in different ways...not needing to get a storage space, being able to store food and decrease our grocery trips thereby decreasing impulse purchases, utilities are included, and so on) and so this might be our last trip in our Year of a Million Disneyland Trips.

I refuse to believe it'll be your last time. :)

I will try. :goodvibes I keep hoping they'll add it to the calendar, after remembering that it's a holiday.

I realized yesterday that the electrical parade also isn't playing after Sunday during that week (DS and DH haven't seen that at all)...so now I've been looking around the apartment, thinking of things to sell to get that blockout ticket! :upsidedow

Depending on how much time you want to invest in seeing the show, you can see the show fairly well from the side over by the Haunted Mansion and Splash Mt. It is never so crowded that you can’t see from somewhere over here. You do miss some of the show by being on the side, but you do notice some things you don’t see in the front and you didn’t have to pay $ or sit for hours to get there. It might also give you an idea if you want to spend the time to get there early to see the show on another day. You can either plow through the crowds to get there, or take the train to New Orleans Station.

I'm curious about this one too (sorry to piggyback onto the thread)...I'm going to be there from 5/17-5/20, and Fantasmic and the fireworks are only on the weekend.

I'm going to be there with my dad--he's in Anaheim for a convention, and I thought we had both Saturday and Sunday nights so we could maybe see the fireworks one night and Fantasmic on the other rather than scrambling around DL that first night trying to see both.

Now he's telling me that he has a dinner to go to, which would give us only Saturday. The cost of the dessert package is insane, so I'm trying to avoid it, but Fantasmic is my favorite show at WDW and I don't want to miss the DL version...it's also my first trip ever to DL, so I don't want to miss the fireworks either. It's a Saturday, so I'm assuming the park will be crowded.

Should I get the package?

I am trying to convince myself (already) that this will not be our last trip to DL, but we can get to Florida for a lot less £££ than we can get to California. :sad2: Plus the flight to California adds at least 2 hours to an already long flight. :headache:

Good luck with the moving - more storage space :cloud9: our attic is about to overflow - if only we could add a walk-in cupboard somewhere!

Since we arrive on the 25th of May too, I'm thinking we'll do EP at DCA then catch the later Fantasmic! over in DL. Then, on the 26th we'll stake out a spot for the fireworks. ;) We're trying to fit in as much as possible in case we can't justify another trip. :upsidedow

Thinking happy thoughts and wishing for the addition of more evening shows during our trips! pixiedust:
