DL crowds vs WDW at the same times of year

We're looking at a possible DL trip next presidents day week or easter week. I know these are crazy busy times at WDW but how are they at DL? Are they more/less/the same crowded as WDW those weeks? We'd look to go mid-week which seem to be lower crowd days.

We've done WDW memorial week and late August. It's busy but we can make it work with a really good plan of attack and FP.

Can anyone tell me what DL crowds are like compared to what I've experienced at WDW? Thanks :goodvibes :goodvibes

It tapers off quicker at WDW it seems. I think its because of the heat, but late august at DL would be busier than late august at WDW, not including the holiday. Generally the weekends are a lot busier at DL than the weekdays, but while WDW runs all types of promos to try and get people in for late august, thats not the case in DL.

Can't really correlate the two because WDW tends to get a lot of folks that travel great distances to get there specifically for a vacation, while DLR gets a much larger percentage of its' attendance from the local population.

During the mid-week, are the crowds during holiday weeks way way bigger than what you might find in magic kingdom on a regular busy summer week? Even with a good touring plan is it impossible to have a good time if you go one of those weeks?

I'm trying to figure out if it's worth it to take a trip out there.

On any given day, WDW will be more crowded than DL. However at DL might seem more crowded because it's more compact.

Bumping.

I'm just trying to get a sense for what crowds are like during Spring break? Are they bad enough not to try it?

We were at WDW during Christmas and I thought it was much more crowded than Disneyland during Christmastime. The thing about Disneyland is that if a line is too long you can easily walk to another ride (or even another park) since everything is so much closer than WDW.

We never make ropedrop at Disneyland, even during busy seasons. But I think its a necessity at WDW.

When's your spring break.....& when is Easter (the year you are going).

Our Spring Break (in Texas) was early enough that it wasn't too bad in SoCal 16 mos. ago (at least on Mon/Tues/Wed) because it was mid march (& most of Cal's spring break was in April). In WDW it would have been deluged (since much of the South is also on Spring break in mid March).

But...if visiting during the week, & if you get to the park at rope drop & utilize many of the tips discussed here (such as in HydroGuy's tip threads)....big crowds are way easier to handle at DLR than at WDW. Much, much easier.

Except when Fantasmic and the Fireworks are done at the same time. You try getting over the Adventureland or Frontierland bridges...
