After several trips to the world inc getting married there & having our honeymoon we ve decided to visit DL next yr to celebrate my Dhs 30th bday 

Only problem is I know nothing about DL so am in dire need of advice. Have brought books & watched many YouTube vids but it's not quite the same as getting personal info & tips.

We ll be staying in Anaheim more than likely at Hojos so any info on Anaheim itself, restaurants & DL would be greatly appreciated.

Have been mailing on the DL section of the boards but know how friendly u guys r over here so figured I may be able to get some useful advice from fellow Brits 

hi,

Well, to start with its very different to Orlando, its a lot more compact and is all accessable by foot (although most Americans wouldn't agree as the tend to drive everywhere). Its a bit like DL Paris that both park entrances are within a 2 minute walk of each other and the downtown area is very close by.
Anaheim itself is very clean and quite busy with people coming and going, it feels very safe and is well lit. You have most of the same resturants as in Orlando within close walking distance, ie Bubba Gump, Cheesecake Factory, Tony Romas, Outback to name a few, in Downtown area you have ESPN, House of Blues, Rainforest, and lots of the cheaper end of the scale like Dennys, Ihop etc. and all the usual fast food eateries. The main roads saround DL seem to be either Hotels, Restuarants or gift shops.
Its really good to visit, its like going to WDW but everything has moved in some way or form, the rides are slightly different and there are extras like the Mattahorn to enjoy and The California adventure park is probably my fav Disney Park, it just seems to have a bit of everything!!!

hope that helps

Really please for find this thread as I too would like to visit DL at the end of 2011

I usually book packages with Virgin - I know that this is an expensive way to do it but I'm lazy :rotfl:

They don't seem to sell the on property resorts though which would be my preference.

The Sheraton in Anaheim looked OK though - anyone stayed there?
