I have not seen a thread on this yet and just noticed it this morning when checking schedules for our trip next month. Starting on June 11 Magical fireworks at DL will shift from 9:25 to 9:30 and the first Fantasmic show will shift from 9:00 to 9:05. This new schedule then carries on through the end of July.

I can only guess this is related to the World of Color debut at DCA on June 11 which shows at 9:00 and 10:15. For some reason Disney does not want WOC and Fantasmic to both start at 9:00. The only possible reason I could guess is that WOC is supposed to be 27 minutes long so it will conclude at 9:27. Fantasmic is 23 minutes long and will conclude at 9:28. And someone is afraid the mini-fireworks at the end of Fantasmic will interfere with World of Color. Maybe the finale noise at Fantasmic? :confused3

If the regular fireworks started at 9:25, they'd overlap with WoC, right?

And if they just moved fireworks back 5 minutes without moving Fantasmic back, then people might get impatient waiting 7 minutes for fireworks (instead of 2). Or perhaps worse, traffic flow might be dangerous as people try to force their way back to Main Street to see Dumbo and Tink? :confused3

Yep. Which is similar to my guess at why Fantasmic was moved back. The fireworks will not start until 9:30 now and with WOC ending at 9:27 there is no chance of a conflict - the conflict being the noise and maybe some visual conflict.

Yah, I think with moving both back 5 minutes that keeps all the typical DL "system" in place for managing guests going to and from Fantasmic and fireworks. The difference is that the second Fantasmic show is still scheduled for 10:30 so the available time to see fireworks in the hub and then scoot over to Fantasmic for show #2 just got reduced by 5 minutes.

i do believe the fireworks are what is causing both disneyland shows to be pushed back.

Fantasmic though i doubt has any influence to WoC.

Power draw issues?
I doubt it compared to all the rides drawing power. Plus WOC at 10:15 (with a conclusion at 10:42) and Fantasmic at 10:30 will overlap. But the Fantasmic finale and mini-fireworks will not happen until 10:53 and that too will not interfere with WOC.

I am liking my speculation in my OP as to the reason for the delay more and more. :)

Yes, but they could push back fireworks to 9:30 without pushing back Fantasmic to 9:05. Why push back Fantasmic at all?

cuz they dont want to give F! viewers to run into main street to watch the fireworks... that 5 whole minutes... think of crowd control would be like watching F! viewers trying to get onto main street to watch or to get out of the park.

Thats what they kinda did on tues when fireworks were delayed.

OK, that makes sense.

Completely agree. Whether you visit the Par often or are there for your very first time, you can tell quite easily that you cannot make it from the riverfront to Main Street in 5 minutes. If there are 10 minutes, some will think, "Let's go for it! We can make it!" which they can't with the crowds. The 5 minutes is more a psychological issue, sending a message to guests that it's not enough time - stay put please.

I'm surprised the show are spaced so they go one two three. I think as it is, after WoC a few thousand people will come to the DL gates trying to catch the next show or vice versa going into DCA. I expected it to be either easy to do that or really hard, like F! to Fireworks.

I bet the gates and mainstreet is going to be the chaotic part at night, as people are going to be going both ways in mass.
