DL 1/2 marathon (9/12 FINISHED!) & WDW Annual Extravaganza (1/13 BWI Club level)

We are going to be staying at BW CL in Dec also. We check in on the 18th. It will be our 1st time at BW and we are super excited.

Hi Debra! So you check in the day we leave. Maybe you'll get our old room? :)

You will love the BWI and you will especially LOVE Club Level. You get to know the CMs by name, and they are all very friendly and helpful, and the InnKeepers Club is the best. Don't be shy about asking for water to take back to your room even if it comes in huge glass evian bottles!

To all my readers - I should know in less than a week if our most recent baby making attempts worked. I set a more specific plan this last time to try and take full advantage of the window, so hopefully we had success!

I feel like training for my Disneyland Half is back on track. After not doing any running for a week because of the heat, I managed to do 8 miles on Friday and 5 miles yesterday, and because now it's raining outside I will probably do a 5K on the treadmill at my LA Fitness, which is always my fallback run when I can't go outside.

I hope to run every day between now and September 1st, alternating between my 8 mile route, my 5 miles route, and my 3 miles gym run. So about 43 miles a week, or about 300 miles run between now and the 1/2. Hopefully I can get my distance up to 10 minutes a mile consistently so I can beat my PR of 2hrs24minutes.

Of course, if I'm carrying a bun in the oven I might alter that a little but, I still hope to complete daily runs.

Hope everyone is doing well and having magical days!

- Carey

Well, unfortunately I started my cycle yesterday so we were unsuccessful in our baby-making for June. :(

Without taking all the fun out of things, I think DH and I are going to take a more proactive approach and not plan everything so much around a certain week.

But still, I was kinda hoping...

In other news, I was able to run 4 days in a row with distances of 8 to 4 miles each day, and then yesterday I took the day off to rest the muscle and now today I think it will be another 8 mile route! :)

I really hope I can get into a 10 MPM pace for all 13 of the DIsneyland Half.

No other news, my few readers. How is everyone doing with their December planning? It's really not that far away! Ack!

I'm so sorry. :( As former foster parents, it just saddens me when a couple so desperately wants a child and can't or it takes years then you see these other "moms" who take for granted what God gave them. It just doesn't seem right. I've always lived by the motto "expect it when you least expect it"......so maybe if you quit "trying" and just relax and let nature take it's course....maybe you'll be surprised. I think it's possible to try too hard!

December is coming up fast (especially since we're dealing with some financial issues).....right now our trip could be on ice. We're expecting money from the IRS but for some reason they closed the file & did nothing, nor did they let me know they did that back in May. So we're heading to Salem tomorrow to the IRS office to see if we can get some help. The phone # you call only gets you a call center that reads a screen but has no clue what's going on & they won't transfer you to someone who would know. Very frustrating. If I owed them money....they'd be camped out on my porch. :headache: Also waiting on an inheritance....if one of these doesn't come in the next month or two.....we will most likely have to cancel.

I'm sorry to hear about you not getting pregnant this month. I can only imagine how hard that would have to be. I've had luck getting pregnant without even trying, and 1 pregnancy where I planned out everything. I wish you and your DH the best of luck.

We are kind of in the "lull" of planning stages. Not much to do anymore. I am stalking the Disney Florist website watching to see what neat Christmas stuff they have out. Rumor has it they are adding another Christmas tree, so I am dying to see it. I like the current one, but an anxious to see another option.

Oh no! Well I hope everything works out and you are still about to make it! Thanks for the pregnancy thoughts. We just started trying a few months ago and so I'm not that horribly upset yet, but I'm trying to plan around when other 1/2 marathons come up, and when we usually vacation, and what sort of video shoots I usually do in the Spring/Summer time... So right around now would be a good start of 9 months. Maybe next time. We are going to try and relax a little bit more this next month. I need to focus on my running anyway.

Thanks for the thoughts! I suppose we will get lucky eventually. :) It's probably a good thing that I only want one.

I agree about the "lull". We don't have plane tickets yet so I am watching that, but there isn't much else I can do just yet. Plus I am more focused in the Disneyland 1/2 on September 1st. I told myself to run some distance everyday between now and then, and so far so good. I have a 5.5 mile route that I really like and will probably stick with that one each day, except for the occasional treadmill day or 8 mile route day if I feel up for going longer.

Hugs to everyone! :)

Sorry that it didn't happen for you this month... I do agree with a PP that if you stop trying so hard it may just happen... it worked that way for my sister.

It has been super busy for me, so sorry I haven't updated in awhile.

Hubby and I are still trying for a baby. We're right in the middle of a cycle so maybe this time will be the charm. I've been so busy with work and training for the half marathon though that it hasn't been so bad that we have not yet been successful.

Tomorrow morning at 6 AM we leaving for Disneyland! We fly home again Sunday night at 7 PM so a VERY short trip, but here is the itinerary:

8 AM SATURDAY - land in LAX
Take Resort Express to Hotel Menage, check in, MAYBE get our room.
Catch ART to DL resort for the Expo, so I can get my bib and our park tickets.
ON TO CALIFORNIA ADVENTURE!
12 Noon
I hope to be in the park by this point. Or at the coming close to being done with the Expo.
I'd really like to see Cars Land and ride some rides.
I got us a 7:30 PM ressie at that Wine place so we can get seating for the World of Color, but DH has expressed an interest in watch the DL fireworks from our hotel pool so we might do that instead.
I want to get to bed by 11 PM at the latest. Probably 10 PM.

4 AM SUNDAY - walk up
Head to start area
I got DH a Cheer Squad package so he can go into the DL park and see me at the castle.
I run 13 miles.
8 AM - finish run.
Breakfast.
Rest back at the hotel.
12 Noon - checkout of hotel.
head to downtown disney.
SHOPPING!!
Food.
Head to LAX around 4 pm if I am feeling responsible, 5 pm if I am feeling daring. Flight is at 7:10 PM and shuttle runs every hour. With DH to weigh in on the decisions it will probably be 4 PM.

I will my pre-trip itinerary was more detailed, but its 11 PM and I am stuck at DH's work waiting for him to finish some project before we can go home, and I haven't even packed yet, and I am tired. So this will have to do.

More when we get back and PICTURES!!

:) - Carey

Hello readers!

Geez it's been like 3 1/2 months since I posted anything.

First, regarding the Disneyland Half - since I was running and since hubby clearly doesn't know how to operate my fancy Nikon, I really don't have a lot of pictures from that trip. Read: none. So, my previous post is all you get for the trip report. Even if it is just an itinerary. I suppose that's bad of me. :( But all I remember of the weekend was that we really enjoyed California Adventure, we didn't get to ride the Cars speedy ride (long line), and I ran a long distance Sunday morning and my right leg was really bothering me. It was a good time, certainly, and I plan to run it next year, but the Wine & Dine is my favorite so far and next time I want to stay on property and maybe a few extra days. It felt like a lot of chasing around.

But now -- THE MAIN EVENT!!! This PTR and TR was always supposed to be mainly about the family trip originally scheduled for December, but was reschedule to the last week in January.

As an aside, hubby and I have still be unsuccessful with the baby making but I have let that worry go for awhile so that it can just happen when it's supposed to.

NEW DATES! January 23 - 29. DH and I, and my mom and dad are each staying in a standard club level room at the Boardwalk Inn and we are very excited. I have the following ADRs scheduled:

Yachtsman Steakhouse
Disney's Yacht Club Resort
Wednesday, January 23, 2013
Time: 7:30 p.m.

BomaFlavors of Africa
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge
Thursday, January 24, 2013
Time: 6:20 p.m.

Biergarten Restaurant
Epcot®
Date: Friday, January 25, 2013
Time: 6:45 p.m.

Le Cellier Steakhouse
Epcot®
Saturday, January 26, 2013
Time: 1:40 p.m.

Coral Reef Restaurant
Epcot®
Sunday, January 27, 2013
Time: 1:15 p.m.

California Grill
Disney's Contemporary Resort
Monday, January 28, 2013
Time: 7:25 p.m.

Kona Cafe
Disney's Polynesian Resort
Tuesday, January 29, 2013
Time: 9:35 a.m.

Yes, you read it correctly. I scheduled ONE ADR per day. Since we are staying concierge (which all but DH has before) we plan to eat breakfast at the inn keepers club and probably nibble/CS our 3rd meal. I specifically tried to get as many signature restaurants as possible because DH is new to the Disney fanatics that is my family and I really want him to experience the best for this, our first trip as a family of four.

We have already secured our airline tickets, and they land us at Orlando at 5:00 PM on Wednesday, January 23rd, and leaving :( on Tuesday January 29th at 6:00 PM.

We have park hoppers that start on Thursday and end the day we leave. Since we get in late on Wednesday we figure a meal at Yachtsmen Steakhouse is good enough. I might take DH to Downtown Disney after, though.

Let's see... my family has decided that if each couple brings $1,000 for food and shinnys, that should get us through the week. Do ya'll concur?

I've been so spotty with updating this that I don't even know if I have any readers, but hugs to anyone who might be reading this!

- Carey
