Planning to go 9th April next year.
Going for 4 days to NY, then 3 to Anaheim and then 7 in Orlando.
Does anyone recommend any particular airports in NY and LA to fly into?
Also looking for a hotel recommendation in Anaheim as I don't drive so need one fairly cheap and close to DL.
So far I have got the total price for all 3 of us down to about 1883 which ain't to shabby as I have budgeted £2Gs for travel and hotels. Now I just have to work out a budget for tickets etc - AAAGH!!!Probably going to stay at the Crowne Plaza Univrsal in Orlando as we've been to DisneyLand in Paris this year already and with DL in CA - We'll probably be Disneyed out!! May have a day in Animal Kingdom as haven't been to that one yet.

I quite fancied a stay at HRH but the budget doesn't really extend to that unless anyone knows of any good deals going.
I can see I'm going to have my hands full packing/unpacking but I am not taking very much with us this time as I intend to hit the outlet malls in NY and Orlando biiiig time!!!

Thanks for any help in advance

In June we stayed at the Hyatt in Newport beach and drove to the Hyatt at Anahiem to use the courtesy shuttle into DL which was very useful. On the route the bus took it went to the Crown Plaza and a couple of other big chain hotels. Don't know of the prices but they were nice and close to DL.
Hope that helps a bit.

Regarding choice of airports, for New York it doesn't really matter. You'll probably only be offered JFK or Newark (EWR) - which is in New Jersey - and while JFK is slightly closer, it's worse for traffic in getting to Manhattan, so they work out about the same journey time. The other NY airport is La Guardia (LGA) and this is the closest of the three, but I don't think anyone flies there direct from the UK.

LAX is the obvious choice for Los Angeles, but don't overlook Orange County airport (SNA) also known as John Wayne Airport. This is a lot closer to Anaheim and Disneyland than LAX and while I've never been there (as no UK airlines fly into it), it seems to be first choice on the Disneyland boards because of the distance factor. But then, it might be dearer to go there from NY - I really don't know.

Orlando is obvious, but watch out for one thing. Remember that virtually all direct New York flights from the UK leave from Heathrow, but all direct flights from Orlando land at Gatwick. So unless you've got someone who's willing to drop you off at one airport and pick you up at the other, it may add an extra complication to your trip.

but all direct flights from Orlando land at Gatwick

I'm probably going with AA - changing at Chicago and back to LHR.
just got a quote from Bon-Voyage for £1953 - staying at the Milford plaza in NY, Radisson Maingate in CA and Crowne Plaza Universal in Fl.
Actually it's going to work out cheaper as I'm not taking little DS(3) now as he's going on holiday with his dad so it'll only cost about £1600 - well chuffed!!! Just got to go through the rigmaraole of what tickets, hoppers. flex options aaagh!!!!

I'll echo Steve's comments about John Wayne Airport in Orange County. Much more convenient that doing battle with LAX then with the LA freeways. It's only about 20 minutes drive from Disneyland, and much smaller/easier to get around than the behemoth that is LAX.

Regards

Rob
