DIY to DLRP in October or November

I'm already sorted, but I'm asking for a friend - it will be her first time to DLRP, she wants to take her 7-year old daughter for 3 days and 2 nights. She's got her flights sorted, so is looking for the best price for the hotel and park tickets. She wants to go in mid-October or mid-November this year.

She's not bothered about whether she stays in a Disney hotel or on the lakeside (HI etc) but she does want the 3-day hopper tickets for her and her daugther.

Any suggestions as to what would be the most cost-effective way of sorting out her hotel and tickets? I did mine through the official Disney site, because my daughter is 6, and I did an early booker in April.

She could look on official DLP website to get prices but I would also advise looking on Expedia and Last minute.com as they also have packages (hotel and tickets) as well as room only.
She could also look at own websites eg Holiday Inn or Explorers.
It might even be worth getting annual passes and then room only somewhere.

I just sat down with a piece of paper and looked at all options writing them down as I went along and then looked at pros and cons of each.

She will prob get Holiday Inn, Explorers (which are 3/4* with air con and pool) for about the same price as Santa Fe (2*) but wont get GFL or EMH. Will get EMH if buys dream annual pass

I always order paper copy of official brochure as seems easier to compare prices with that than online. You can order from official website.

I still find this the easiest way to price up planning our holidays too!
