Dixons go Deluxe 14 nights DxDDP Updated 12/2 COMPLETE

I emailed to book the slipper - got the email address off the cake thread on the DIS restaurants board. Did it about 3 or 4 weeks before the adr. Just gave them the adr number and the wording. They emailed me back with 24 hours - very easy. We paid on the day of the meal for the slipper - just over $15 inc tax.

DD enjoyed it - would make a lovely christmas surprise.

Thankyou - I am going to do this :santa:

Just checked but this isn't available at O'Hanas - what a shame.

We shared a brownie and a maple pumpkin cupcake for breakfast – 2 snack credits

We also paid out of pocket for a cup of coffee.

IMG_4473.JPG

We had a 11.35 adr here and were seated soon after checking in. This is one of DD’s favourite places to eat – our 4th time here.

IMG_4474.JPG
IMG_4475.JPG
IMG_4476.JPG

We were seated in a car – DD and I sat in the front and DH behind us.

IMG_0765.JPG
IMG_0752.JPG
IMG_0753.JPG

I had the fried pickles to start with spicy ranch dressing and DH the buffalo chicken – both were really good. I had a burger and DH the picnic burger with sweet potato fries – a burger with a hot dog on. DD had macaroni cheese. We had cherry coke to drink (coke with cherry syrup). Food was all hot and tasty.

I paid extra for DD to have a light up Ariel drink as these are fun in the dark. These are $6.49 plus tax but she uses the cup at home.

IMG_4479.JPG
IMG_0757.JPG

For dessert DD had the make your own ice cream sundae. I asked if I could get a milkshake instead which I could. I had the solar flare - an orange milkshake which is unique to sci fi – was good. DH had the cheesecake.

We have always had enjoyable food at sci fi. DD enjoys sitting in the car and the silly film clips.

We met up with some UKDISboarders at the big river grille and brewing works at the boardwalk. I had a cocktail and DH a beer flight. DH also took DD for an icecream at seashore sweets – 2 scoops for a snack credit.

IMG_4505.JPG
2012-11-02%252017.56.14-1.jpg

To park at the boardwalk we had to show our adr and ID. We were then given a password to say to the next car park attendant to be let in. Was very busy as it was a Friday night during the Food & Wine festival.

Dinner

Flying Fish, Boardwalk

2012-11-02%252018.55.41-1.jpg

We had a 7.05pm adr and walked over after our DISmeet.

We checked in at a podium outside and were given a pager. We waited inside.

IMG_4515.JPG

After waiting for maybe 10 mins I started to get concerned. Things seemed very disorganised and some people seemed to be checking in inside. Anxious to avoid a repeat of Citricos I went and asked if I needed to check in inside. The girl couldn’t find me on the system but I had a pager?? They then seated us immediately so not quite sure what was going on.

The server here was very pleasant and helpful. I also liked the decor and atmosphere.

IMG_4528.JPG

We started with some bread which Dh in particular enjoyed.

IMG_4517.JPG
IMG_4518.JPG

I had the appetiser duo – crab cake and Caesar salad. The crab cake was excellent, the salad ok. Dh had buffalo mozarella and DD fruit.

IMG_4519.JPG
IMG_4520.JPG
IMG_4522.JPG

For entree I had the duo again – the potato wrapped red snapper and the char crusted steak. These are the two most popular entrees. I enjoyed them both.

IMG_4524.JPG

DH had the char crusted steak and asked for fries not potatoes. He really enjoyed this. The steak came with a herb sauce on the side – sauce foyot.

IMG_4526.JPG

DD had mickey shaped pasta alfredo which was ok but she is a steak lover and ended up eating a lot of our steaks.

IMG_4523.JPG

For dessert myself and DH had the trio of boardwalk sweets which was a fun dessert. DD had the paint your own mickey chocolate puzzle she loves. She also ate my cake 'burger' which is thought was funny as she hates real burgers.

IMG_4531.JPG
IMG_4536.JPG
IMG_4537.JPG

We all just had soda to drink – the server kindly gave DD a glowcube for hers.

This was an enjoyable meal – one of my favourite signature meals and I would definitely return.

The only downside was you had to come out of the restaurant to go to the restroom through seashore sweets. DD therefore ‘needed’ the restroom more than usual and each trip had to be hurried through the sweet shop!

Thanks so much for the Aloha Dinner Show review - you really don't see many and it's something we really want to try :thumbsup2

As always DD looks super stylish in her hawaiian themed outfit :goodvibes

I think if you go with the right expections then you will enjoy it - they sell cocktails aswell as the included alcohol. Not sure what the veggie option is though.

Cupcakes for breakfast! I wish you were my Mom!! Lol! Love your reviews and your daughter is adorable! :lovestruc

We did it again on our next hollywood studio day

Thankyou - I am going to do this :santa:

Just checked but this isn't available at O'Hanas - what a shame.

Think slipper is only at CRT and park fare. Ohana is fun - would love to be spending xmas day there :)

Another great review - I hope you had elasticated waistbands towards the end of the holiday :rotfl2:

You have tried lots of different restaurants and it is good to hear about them as a few we probably wouldn't have looked at, such as the Flying Fish as we don't particularly like fish

The diet will definitely need to be started after xmas!

DH is not a fish lover and hates fishy smelling places. Flying fish met with his approval.

IMG_4554.JPG
IMG_4555.JPG

We were seated within a couple of minutes of check in and were given a booth.

We met Donald, Minnie and Goofy in their beach wear. The characters actually came around twice – Donald was very sweet with DD the second time. She had accidentally broken her hair band and was crying so he gave her a big hug.

Aswell as the usual breakfast favourites there is smoked salmon, asparagus and hollandaise sauce. For the Mickey waffles they also had chocolate chips and whipped cream.

IMG_4563.JPG

We all had fun. Quieter and more laid back than some of the other character meals.

Lunch

We stopped for a drink in the florida mall foodcourt and bumped into a DISer we had met for the first time at the meet yesterday...it’s a small world afterall!

DD also got a new headband.....

This was our shopping day – DD had a mcdonalds happy meal (unlike the UK kids get fries and apple slices – plus they ask you girl or boy for the toy) and we had a Wendys near the florida mall.

We had a 6.20pm adr and were seated upon check in.

This was a lovely restaurant – really light and airy.

We enjoyed some sourdough bread.

IMG_4607.JPG
IMG_4608.JPG

I had the smokey mushroom soup which was delicious – best appetiser of the trip I think. DH had venison carpachhio. DD didn’t have an appetiser.

IMG_4609.JPG
IMG_4610.JPG

For entree I had the salmon. I enjoyed the salmon but wasn’t keen on the accompaniments (they change seasonally). DD had salmon with fries. She ate some of it but could see they had seasoned it with pepper on (she doesn’t like pepper). DH had the buffalo strip steak cooked medium which he enjoyed.

IMG_4611.JPG
IMG_4615.JPG
IMG_4613.JPG

We all just had soda to drink.

For dessert I loved the cobbler with berries and ice cream (not my photo). DH had the dark and white chocolate sculpture. DD had her favourite white Mickey puzzle.

I think this was our quickest signature meal but this suited us as we were off to see fantasmic later.

We were at AK for 8am emh. The cupcakes had changed from the halloween ones to the usual cotton topped tamarin - picture taken but we did not get one!

IMG_4637.JPG

We had two jalepeno pretzels from a stall near the safari these are lovely with cream cheese filling with jalepenos in 2 snack credits.

IMG_4653.JPG

By 10.30am we had done lots and it was a hot day so we got a cookie ice cream sandwich and DD got a bugs sundae. These were both really good and a great use of a snack credit 2 snacks

We also got a drink from near the lion king show paid cash for this.

We had a 12.50pm adr here. We were directed to an undercover car park and then took the elevator to the restaurant. It was our first time here and what a stunning resort.

We checked in and asked for a window table. It wasnt busy and we were seated straight away in a lovely window table. We had a fantastic view and during the meal a giraffe came right up to the window plus a bird.

IMG_4725.JPG
IMG_4726.JPG

We chose, spicy naan, onion kulcha and naan – plus dips – I know we went for one spicy, mango chutney which was chopped mango not like you get at an Indian restaurant in the UK and a coconut one.

The spicy naan and the spicy dip were actually spicy which we enjoyed. The samosas were also very good.

For main DH had the tandoori chicken naan, I had the shrimp – we asked for sauce on the side. These were tasty but a big portion after all the appetisers.

IMG_4730.JPG
IMG_4731.JPG
IMG_4732.JPG

DD had pizza which she enjoyed. This was a normal pizza – not wholewheat like is appearing on a lot of the kids menus. DD had only had pizza once all trip so was happy to have it here (she doesn’t do spicy food).

For dessert DD got the ice cream cookie which she didn’t like – said it was hard. She ate the chocolate cake off my sampler. The sampler had the chocolate cake, kulfi and chai chream. Dh had chocolate cake.

I was expecting this to be bland and so so. We often eat at decent Indian restaurants at home. We were all pleasantly surprised and would put Sanaa on the must do list for next time.

After the meal we spent some more time looking at the animals from a viewing area.

Hoop de doo review 6.15pm, Fort Wilderness

IMG_4783.JPG

We got the bus to MK and the boat across to hoop de doo. Id picked up the tickets from concierge at our resort a few days before. We checked in and then had a photo taken. This was free for us as we had photopass +

2012-11-04%252018.14.31.jpg

It was assigned seating so we were shown to a table just to the side downstairs think this was cat 2 seating. We had a decent view.

IMG_4798.JPG

There was corn bread and salad on the table. Our server Nancy introduced herself and explained how things worked. Nancy brought DH two beers one for his right hand, one for his left and carried on bringing them so he was happy! I had a glass of wine then soda.

This is my favorite thread ever! Thanks for all the amazing photos. Also, your daughter is beautiful. :)

Really enjoying this review! Sanaa is on our list for next trip and your review confirms its a good choice! Cape May for breakfast sounds great, I must look into it more!!

We also loved Saana on our September trip. The view is excellent. I took a video of the animals in the rain for my trip report. The naan bread with the coconut dip was so delish! we made an ADR for our January trip. We visited the viewing area outside the restaurant before and after our meal! can't wait for our January trip.

I'm enjoying your dining report!

Great, great reviews! And wonderful photos, too.

This was our shopping day – DD had a mcdonalds happy meal (unlike the UK kids get fries and apple slices – plus they ask you girl or boy for the toy) and we had a Wendys near the florida mall.

OK, I'll bite: what is included with fast food kids meals in the UK?

The asking for boy v. girl thing only happens with a few promotions; most of the time the toys are pretty generic/unisex. But sometimes there will be doubles, like if it's a prince or a princess figurine.

Apples OR fries not both.

First time DD thought they had made a mistake but everytime she had had one in the US she got both. They also don't have the bigger happy meal - mighty meals? Think 6 chicken nuggets is the adult meal in the UK. All toys are unisex here.
