Anyone have an opinion about the Dixie Stampede Dinner Show? Is it worth the $$? I value the DIS family opinions! :earsboy: :rotfl2:

Dixie Stampede is a load of fun! It can be expensive, but if you can get your hands on a coupon there is some great discounts put there.

When you first get there, they will ask you which "side" or "team" you want to be on. North or South. You will then get your picture taken and then you go to the pre show area where there is various entertainment. When we went the Electric Horseman was there and it was awesome! Then just before showtime you will be seated on either the north or the South side depending on what side you chose of the arena.
Dinner is a half of a chicken, a pork chop, baked potato, soup, biscuit, veggie, and dessert. They have endless Pepsi beverages as well as ice tea. This is served while the show is being performed.
After the show, you exit out through the gift shop area and pick up your pictures. www.dixiestampede.com will provide you with more information.

I always think it's great fun. I've seen the show so many times I think I can quote the script along with the MC, lol, but I still enjoy it. It's a family tradition to go there every year on our winter vacation and my dd does not allow us to skip or alter the traditions we started in her childhood lol! So I go and even though I'm a bit jaded I walk out of there having had a good time.

Im going to try to purchase tickets through AAA. I believe they are $36 plus tax. Is this a pretty good deal?

We went to Pigeon Forge in June of last year and loved this show and the food was actually very good. I thought it was well worth the $$.

:cool1: my dad and stepmom live down there and they have been to this show a couple of times they really like it.

Dixie Stampede is fun. I liked it better than Spirit of Aloha and it was a lot cheaper. AAA has good ticket deals as well as www.ticketmania.com The food there is really good for a dinner show. Just remember that there is no silverware at Dixie Stampede. All the food is easy to eat with your fingers, but some people are put off by that.

DW and I went to the Dixie Stampede in Branson, MO in Oct. Had a blast, it was the first night of the Xmas show. To us, yes it was worth the $, food was good, show was good and service was good. Go and enjoy!

We went to the Dixie Stampede in Myrtle Beach, it's a lot of fun, food is just so-so.

If you ask the server for a fork, she wil give you plastic silverware (usually with a big production) as someone did want to know where it was when we were there and they gave him plastic. (take your own in your purse if you want it)

I've been to Dixie Stampede several times in Pigeon Forge and Myrtle Beach. Even though I know all the words and jokes, it is still fun to go and see it again. I especially love the Christmas show. :sunny:

saw it on the food network---it was highly rated there - it was the Top 5 show I think - top5 dinner shows or something like that....

We brought our own forks when we went. That was a few years ago at Myrtle Beach. We enjoyed it.

We went this past Nov. to the one in Orlando. It was the Christmas version. We all really loved it.

At one point during the show one of my 5 yr olds leaned over to me and whispered "Look mom, isn't it beautiful?"
Wow! That made it worth every penny. :)

DS and I went to the one in Myrtle Beach in August. It was very fun and we thoroughly enjoyed it! I even bought the photo package that they take of your group. DS got his beverage in a souvenir boot shaped glass.

Same here - we were there in Nov. too (the Friday night before Thanksgiving). We thought it was great. I think they gave us a fork though. The pre-show was great too.

(It was a great trip. It snowed at the Dixie Stampede on Friday night, had a thunderstorm at lunch at the Rainforest Cafe on Saturday, and had a volcano erupt at dinner on Saturday night at Margaritaville. DD said we made her sick ;) - she's in college and had to be in class. ::yes:: )
