How cool is it that DH is coming down and you get a few days together

I can relate to your apprehension on flying. Not so much for me, but for my sister Tammy. She is NOT a good flyer and she can really dig her nails into your arm if she mistakes it for the armrest That was a lesson that I learned really quick!

A little change to the plans......Mike has decided he really doesn't want to drive all the way to Anaheim by himself.......so he's gonna fly! Good for him.....I won't be near as worried knowing he's on the road for hours & hours alone....but yikes.......with him flying down & not bringing my car....that means I have to fly home!!! I already purchased my airline ticket down.....so now I'll have to buy a ticket home.....heavy sigh!!

There is an upside to all of this.......we were planning on staying Monday, Tuesday & maybe a couple hours Wednesday before we started our long drive home. Now, we'll have Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday.....leaving Thursday morning!!

So I guess it will all work out in the end & having Mike beside me during the flight will be good.

At this point we're in a holding pattern until Mike can file our taxes & we get our money back before I can purchase those tickets.....but I will probably book our package for the Paradise Pier Hotel in the next week or so!!

Bummer on having to flying home, but at least you will have Mike with you and you get to stay longer

I left scars in my brothers leg when I flew in my dad's small plane when I was 19.....scariest flight of my life!!!

So I started working on the name tags for the Meet-n-Greet. I'm doing that up as people pay....that way I know they're coming for sure. We have some people signed up that haven't posted on the thread in quite a while....so unsure if they're still planning on going.

Jessica is working on our press passes for the Scavenger Hunt. This is a sample of what she came up with (minus the pics):

We're thinking of putting the "princess" we are on the front & our real picture, name & year we became a Diva on the back!!!

This is really getting exciting as things start falling into place!!!!

Welcome!! It will be very weird going without the kids....my whole world revolves around them...but I'm very excited to get an opportunity to recharge the system in my favorite place!!!

Thank you on the bags, name tags & press passes......it makes the trip seem that much closer getting some of those things done!!

Not thrilled with the flying part, but luckily I have a gal from Gresham to ride down with & then hubby on the way home......the part I'm least looking forward to......wish Disneyland was closer!!

You should join in on the Girl's Only Trip thread!!! I've been posting the last 3 years & this is the first trip I could make. Great way to get to know the other gals & gives you time to plan for the next one. They do this yearly & have mini-meets through out the year as well. We'd love to have you join us!!!

Looking at my own picture makes me want to throw darts......

The Tiara looks pretty, more shiny then sparkly.....but will work for this!!

I'm sure the twins will survive......Mike will get the brunt of it the first couple of days & then they'll start to settle down about the time he leaves. Poor Nick & the boys.

So I have a friend that sells "Light Up" items.....so I hit her up for some bling for my scavenger hunt team. We are going to have white feather boas that blink red lights, a bracelet that lights up, a flower ring that lights, a mood ring that lights & a star wand that lights up in different colors & patterns. She made me a great deal on this stuff!!!! 5 items for each person for $15/person. I was thrilled & can't wait to see us all decked out in our bling, press passes, tiaras & the girls Diva trip shirts (the purple one with the castle)!!!

We're doing our best.....somedays are rough....I mean rough & we wonder if all the kids are getting what they need from us....but learning to share our attention is a good lesson in life & we can only do so much. This trip will be great for rejuvenating the soul.......and I think everyone deserves that from time to time!

All you can do is your best.

I think we all need trips like this. I never take time for myself. I don't have a hobby that takes me out of the house like Scotty does with his bicycle so I don't get that break and he understands that. The kids really take me for granted. He and I both think that this trip for me away from them will be the best thing for all of us.
