Disturbing Disney Dreams...Jan 13, 7 night Western

Thanks for the trip report! We may be in your old cabin, so it's good to know you didn't have any noise problems or anything like that. Anything you didn't like about the stateroom?

Great trip report. We are taking a Western in 08 so I was happy to hear about all the fun you had. I don't think you mentioned if you re-booked on board. (that is how we got our next cruise booked from a 3 day to a 7 day) I wonder if they put something in the margarita's I was drinking? Anyway thanks for taking the time to write such a detailed story, sounds like it was a great time for all.

Sherekhan,
Really it was great for us. I liked being right off the elevators because I was forever running back to the room for something I forgot - it made for a shorter trip back!:rotfl:

When the ship was rocking, there was a squeak in the dresser that is attached to the closet - we stuck a small piece of cardboard behind it and that stopped it. Midwest ingenuity... Craig removed it a couple times, so we had to replace it!:rolleyes1

That's all the detail I can scrounge up!

Bryan,
We didn't rebook. Although we might consider taking another Disney Cruise sometime in the future, this trip was taken because of the generosity of my in-laws. DCL was loads of fun, but I should distinguish between enjoying a trip that was provided for us (almost free of charge) and choosing what we will purchase next with our own family vacation dollars. If they offer to pay for another vacation, DCL would be at the top of my request list! :lmao:

I might get flamed for this, but as much as I enjoy the magic of trips/vacations that are Disney-oriented, I think there are so many other wonderful places to visit and things to do. We aren't a family that goes back every year to the same place, or does the same activity again and again. I like checking out new locations each vacation, and as much as I love a vacation locale, I find myself choosing something different the next time around. :yay:

If we had an unlimited travel budget, it would be fun to do DCL every January - it was certainly awesome to get away in the winter! I can't imagine any other company taking care of guests the way Disney does - they are amazing! For my in-laws, it was a wonderful chance to give everyone a great gift and for us all to enjoy it as a family. That was fantastic!

Thanks! I think we can deal with that. DH was astounded that I had that level of info about our room. I have one other burning question. When I look up our room in the room reviews, it says it's a cat 6, but the picture of the boat shows no cat 6's in that area, only cat 5. can you answer which it is?

thanks!

Sherekhan,
that was MY review and I goofed on the category. I kept mixing up whether we had a cat 5 or 6 and I couldn't find a way to go back and edit it later when I figured that out. if you know how I can edit it, please let me know!

you're absolutely right - room 7606 is cat 5 (although what the difference is, I'm not sure).

Thanks...I don't know how to edit that either :)

I called DCL just to clarify what the difference is...the only difference is that cat 5 is on a higher level. otherwise- the same!

Fantastic report. The pictures were great! Your honest accounts of parenting while travelling were hilarious. Been there done that. My children will be 11 and 13 when we cruise in September and we are really starting to get excited about it now!:cool1:  Thanks for all the details.

Thanks, Steve!
The 'edit button' is edit posts on the thread. My mistake was made on the Stateroom reports (see the 'stateroom' links above). Those say 'corrections can only be made by contacting a webmaster'. I've done that but haven't heard back yet. Hopefully soon!:)

What I need is a VACATION FROM PARENTING!! :lmao:
Soon, very soon - hopefully DH and I can get an adults-only vacation...

I'll bet your kids are to the perfect age for family vacations - I really look forward to that. We have lots of fun with ours, now, too! I try to enjoy each stage and not push them too much to the next one.

Thanks for the kind words.
:flower3:
