Dissappointing DisPop Rewiew of Stranger Things (Spoilers in thread)

I am currently rematching it. When I'm done, let's do a more in depth look at it. We can start a Stranger Things thread and get people more involved in it. In fact, I think that's a great idea to do for any reviews we do from now. We should bring the boards in more. That way people who want to continue getting more in depth with topics can.

This is a great idea.

One thing I have found so far on the reviews is that at some times you are trying to juggle with giving a detailed description of the movie, without giving away plot points, or spending the whole podcast describing the movie. Sometimes I feel the podcasts get bogged down by this. A simpler plot synopsis is better (its easy for anyone to find those online) with more time focused on your actual review and thoughts (the unique stuff, people are here for).

Also I do enjoy digger deeper with the more technical or artistic parts of films (don't worry about getting too technical!). I believe it was Tarzan where you were discussing how the darkness of the scenes and shots was affecting the 3-D experience. That was good stuff. More like that.

Personally, I would like to hear more of what you do, in fact, enjoy about DIS POP and the other shows on the network. This would help provide quality criticism to guide in future segments.

I figured you were. I'm not the first poster or moderator nor will I be the last that has questions and concerns regarding this poster's motives regarding the DIS based on their posts so far. Thanks for bringing up the ignore feature. I didn't know about that function so I appreciate that

While a review is not safe from criticism and critique I prefer to come to the dis with happy thoughts and friendly constructive criticism.

Plus all of Rynos reviews aren't perfect ...look at the Ghostbusters one

I give Ryno a lot of credit , he heard my criticism and offered a novel idea to expand his movie reviews.

We can now finally have broader discussion and analysis of the movie he reviews

I appreciate being heard on the board as I have many other great ideas on how to improve the show

I think feedback wether back or good is always important as long as we remain polite and civil to one another

In years to come, I know I'll look back at the first few months of DISPop and be struck at how lucky I was to have had a front row seat to a new talent. Because you have talent and the sky's the limit. Enjoy the success of Pop.

Similar threads are launched every 2-3 wks and a number of DIS'rs fall into the trap of replying angrily and consequences follow for them.
Let the admins know if you are unhappy otherwise this continues to spin.

I'm going to try and be as nice as I can be when I say this; And I hope that you don't take it as a personal attack against you, but more of a critique of your actions on the forums.

I'm finding it very hard to take some of the sincere criticisms that you post seriously (Including this one), when in the past you've posted threads calling out Pete on his wealth, the team on a lack of diversity, calling out Steve for wearing a Penn State hat, and calling out Ryno for using the anatomically correct word for a woman's genitals. Those aren't critiques - those are cheap jabs that add nothing of value to the conversation of improving the show.

That being said, critiques like the one you posted in this thread are stuff you should stride for (Albeit in a more professional manner that doesn't involve posting blatant spoilers without warning). It got the attention of a member of the podcast, led to a possible change in how the show is done, and is an actual critique.

So in the future, I'd suggest focusing on critiques like this and not $400 Burberry shirts - especially if you want your actual critiques to be taken seriously.
