Does anyone have a recent experience going the first week of March?? We're thinking of going then so we can get the Quick Service Dining Plan :thumbsup2
We originally were going to go in May.

If you've been at that time of the year, what was the weather like? How were the crowds? Did you feel like some things weren't available to you at that time of the year?

Thanks in advance for your replies!! :beach:

Everything is open.

Early March in 2015 will see many schools in Spring Break, so there can be a lot of Breakers on vacation.

Weather:

HERE are the average (and last year's) temperatures for the Orlando area.

HERE are the relative humidity averages for the Orlando area.

HERE is the Orlando monthly average rainfall.

My spring trip is usually either the last week in Feb or first week in March. The crowds are not too bad yet for spring break - usually the middle to end of the month is worse for crowds (my birthday is the third week in March and I usually spend my birthday, or the closest day I'm not working, at Epcot and the crowds are much worse than at the beginning of the month).

Weather can be all over the place. If the northern states are having a bad winter, it can still get very cold here as well. Typically, it's still cool at night, and moderate during the day, so you will want some sort of jacket with you. It is mostly dry, but our rain that time of year is tied to weather fronts. So if a front is in the area, it may rain all day (not the hard rain like summer, but just a steady rain). It can even rain for multiple days if the front stalls out right over us, which happens sometimes. But you don't have rain every afternoon like you do in the summer. And the humidity is much lower!

Spring is a great time to visit WDW. I often visit in early May as well, and although the crowds can be similar, you won't get the heat and humidity in March that you get in May. I find I can tolerate crowds much better when the temps don't go so high.

The only thing I feel is missing is when you just barely catch the Flower and Garden festival opening. The plants look much better two or three weeks into the festival when they are more established.
