Day 3 – March 16, 2010

Plan: Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Breakfast at Cape May Café, Lunch at Hollywood Brown Derby

Actual: We were up and off to a great start! This would be our first visit to Cape May Café for Goofy’s Beach Club Character Breakfast. We were pleasantly surprised at the numerous breakfast offerings. Delicious! We also enjoyed our photo ops with Goofy, Minnie Mouse and Donald Duck. The kids always enjoy getting autographs and taking photos.

After a hearty breakfast, we headed to the docks to catch the ferry boat to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Our only “must dos” for the park were Beauty and the Beast, The Great Movie Ride Adventure and Fantasmic. DH absolutely :lovestruc Fantasmic and we have missed it the past few trips to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, so from fear he might leave me if we didn’t go, I was sure to visit the park on a day that Fantasmic would show. We always enjoy Beauty and the Beast, but this was DS’s first time watching the show. I really enjoyed watching him take in the show, he really liked it. We went to Hollywood Brown Derby for lunch. I liked trying to figure out who the caricatures were while we waited to be seated and could not believe how many there were. During our meal, I realized that the SAME caricatures were repeated throughout the restaurant. :scratchin We thought the meal was just okay. I had heard and seen great reviews for the Hollywood Brown Derby, so we decided that we have to return for dinner and then form an opinion one way or the other – so not thumbs down or up for this one. Then, our fast passes were ready for the DH and DDs to do Tower of Terror and Rockin’ Roller Coaster. No coasters for me and DS, we shopped. :) But, that is one of the benefits of Fast Passes, we always can get three for one attraction and two for another one at about the same times, since DS and I don’t do coasters. DH will ride one with the girls and then he either rides with one or lets them ride together. Lately, DD(13) has declined to ride some coasters. I couldn’t believe it, she chose to shop with us. :goodvibes Disney’s The Princess and the Frog was released and we HAD to buy it! How special is that? We bought one of our new favorite Disney movies while at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, I loved it! Plus, we got at $5 Disney Gift Card and the theme on the Gift Card… Princess and the Frog. I love Disney!

We took advantage of the close proximity of our resort to the park and walked “home” for dinner. We found the walk fun and relaxing. We were “home” for dinner and back to the park in no time at all. I must admit, I was not quite sure how it would work with me cooking meals and our park time. This is our first trip with so many planned cooked meals and overall it went well, one or two hiccups, but I can’t wait to do it again.

We visited the Chronicles of Narnia for the first time and because we love the movies, we liked the attraction. Fantasmic was very good and another first for DS. We always enjoy Disney’s Hollywood Studios, but for some reason this time was even better. We didn’t spend much time waiting in lines and did not even get to do Toy Story Midway Mania, but we didn’t mind. At the end of a wonderful visit, we hopped on the ferry boat “home”. Everyone was tired, so off to bed we went.

Night Night.
