I also used my gift certificate without a problem. They only ask for your CC number in case your purchase exceeds the amount of your gift card. Try again with entering your CC number and it should work. Good luck!
shouldnt the GF come off the total of the purchase and only the remaining bal. put on my cc? i want to see the final amount that will be charged to my cc.
My whole purchase was shown at the end of the transaction, making me think that it had not deducted the GC. I had a $25 GC but my purchase was like $28. I even called because it appeared that the whole purchase was charged to my CC, but it was not. Just the $3.
DS.com doesn't show you your net total. Any time i've used a gift card with them, you just enter the information and it will deduct the total. It doesn't even show the deduction on your DS invoice when your items come in. I really don't like it this way at all. You have to check with your CC to see the amount charged. I like seeing the actual total that i'm getting charged.
Glad I found this thread. I have also just received a $25 gift card. I tried to order one item (over $25) and went about checking out. When does it ask you for the gift card? After your name/address? I did not go this far. So now you are saying (so I won't be surprised) that I will have to enter my cc and then gift card and it does not show the difference. Okay. Gotta go try again.

For as many times as i've done this, i should know for sure , but i THINK the GCard number is entered on the same page as the charge card number. It would be great if the gift card was put on one page, then on the next would show your true balance that you're charging on your charge card. When you complete your order, it will feel like your gift card was not deducted and it will seem like you're charging the whole amount. Just be sure to check your CC statement (online if you can) as soon as you can.
You get them for making a referral - we recommended a family that took the SSR tour so DVC sent us a gift card. You get something additional (I think it's something like $200) if the person you refer actually purchases DVC.
Okay, I finally put my order through - denim jacket for $29.99. Does anyone else find the shipping and handling charges a bit steep? It was over $8 (I don't have my printed version in front of me). Disney is way behind with not being capable of showing balance after applying GC. I checked my cc balance on-line, not posted yet. I don't expect a problem either.
was hoping that someone might be able to help us out...we received a 25.00 gift card from DVC for a referal and can't find the email, could someone please post the email address that it came from and the subject so I can search our archived email.

It depends on where you live; some folks (like us here in Minnesota) are 'protected' by our State from timeshare 'scams' by not being able to receive any bonuses for referrals...
