Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

And this is the very reason that they don't want guests to use the luggage carts on their own. Guests will abandon them almost anywhere you might imagine.

Dave
The bellman who delivered my stuff said this was one of the reasons, but only one- wouldn’t go into detail on anything else though. (Smart fellow!) He liked the carts aren’t left around like at other resorts, but the inconsistency with other resorts makes guests unhappy so not great for them. I suspect there is something behind the scenes/above his pay grade that governs this here specifically.

Saw a cart going by with new rebar along the walkway to the site as they were jack hammering away at the concrete so I don’t think they’re gonna waste anytime getting that concrete laid back in!

Lifeguard said they except it to return. With all SAB hot tubs working as unheated therapy tubs the sign is not currently out. (The lifeguard also reminded me that children must be accompanied by an adult and if I ever notice any that aren’t or aren’t behaving to tell the nearest lifeguard.)
Thanks so much for taking the time to ask, appreciate that!

At least they're not giving it the Cake Bake Shop/corndog cart treatment....July 1st deadline seems to be something they're actually trying to adhere to! Feels good! Even if it's not ready perfectly by the time I get there, I'm happy with the effort. I'm calling this a win

What’s a good room request for the Beach Club Villas? I’ve only stayed on the hotel side before

Your room view options are limited. You can request a pool view, a parking lot/road view, a woods view, or a courtyard view. You can also request to be close to the elevator. Of course, nothing is guaranteed. :)

Never request "close to the elevator" at Beach Club Villas unless you have mobility issues. If you have a room near the elevator, you are likely to hear an annoying whirring sound all day and most of the night.

I don't have good luck with room requests at BCV. It's small and it's always at full capacity. It's not like there will be a lot of empty rooms which would let the room assigner move things around to fulfill requests.

Thanks! When I looked at touring plans it seemed like they had a lot of 2 bedrooms. But maybe it’s just because I’m used to smaller resorts like Riviera and the Poly tower

A picture was just posted on FB showing construction work has started on the front of Beach Club. Mentioned scaffolding went up last night.

Side note: SLIDE STILL CLOSED.

ETA: The poster on FB said: “Construction noise at 420am sounded like a drill looked out saw no humans but scaffolding went up since late last night.”

I’m here now (watching my kids swim!) and they haven’t been told the slide is opening tomorrow. We are staying in the villas and the construction hasn’t bothered us other than the obvious slide being closed.

I did love walking over to Epcot and grabbing lunch in France while my son napped in the stroller today!

Does anyone know when abouts the ground/first floor rooms will be finished with refurbishment at YC? Not going until mid August but always prefer a ground floor due to mobility

The YC has work scheduled through September 2025, and the BC is scheduled for the same time period.

What type of USB ports are there in the room and how many are there?
We are 5
Yacht Club? Beach Club? If Beach Club Villas, what type of room?

I always assume that the USB ports will not work. I keep a power strip in my Owner's Locker, and I travel with the power adapter (which I think of as "the power brick thingy" because in my mind an "adapter" is what you take when you are traveling to Europe).

If the USB ports do work, I assume they will be the older type USB-A not the newer USB-C.

If you have people who want to plug in their phones at night and have the phones next to their beds, you also need to know the locations of the USB ports. If you want to plug in your phone next to your bed but the USB port is across the room above the dresser, that's not going to be helpful.

I'm sure someone who is there now can report back for you if you specify which hotel.
