Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

I just made my life easier. Instead of a split stay with 2 nights at the beach club and 5 at the yacht club I switched to beach club only with a lagoon/pool view.

I want a lagoon view! I don't care as much about the full balcony, but it would be lame if my water view was of the quiet pool. How do I request a lagoon view?

When overlooking the quiet pool, you can also see the lagoon/Boardwalk, so it's not just a view of the pool. Still a great view.

Hi there, hope this is OK to post here and not on the other forums but I know many of us have booked our Beach Club stays through some "magical" deals. Have any of you ever upgraded those tickets to an AP when you arrived for your trip? I am going to do this, and was wondering if anyone had trouble considering the types of tickets they sell. Thanks!

What does the ticket media say on it? Some "magical" deals include tickets that can not be upgraded at all. This is not uncommon when they are doing mass bookings as they tickets may be under the "convention/special event" ticket category which usually are not able to be upgraded even to extra days once the trip starts.

Are the Yacht Club Renovated Club Level rooms the only ones with walk in showers?

:welcome: to the thread!

I don't think so. We have had reports of some rooms on the 4th floor that have the walk-in showers. There will be a mix of rooms with walk-in showers and some with tubs. We thought it was going to be king bed rooms without the tubs, but someone reported a recent stay with a room that had two queen beds and only the walk in shower.

Hi All,

Just a quick note to say hello and I'm back on the forum. After we returned from our November trip, I didn't have the heart to sign on. Then, after a few weeks of not doing so, I realized exactly how many hours I was burning every day on this and similar sites. Good thing I'm the boss, but not so good for keeping business shipshape. It happens every year. I'm a geek when it comes to this stuff. I just can't help myself.

I get it! It really is an addiction...

To my knowledge, those tickets are not upgrade-able in any way. You get what you get. I was able to change my tickets prior to my trip; I'm not sure what the cut-off is.

No, unfortunately those tickets can't be upgraded. They're convention tickets only good for certain dates.

Thank You!

My DH & I will be staying at the Beach Club for the first time next month. This trip is for my birthday (50!) and was just planned over the weekend - I've never planned a trip in such a short time before! We are only staying 3 nights but we are so excited to be staying at an Epcot area resort (we usually stay at the Polynesian).

I reserved a standard view room and was going to do online check in. I'm going to select "Upper Floor" as my Room Request #1 but what does it mean if I request "Large Balcony" as my Room Request #2? I'm sure that question has been answered before but I haven't read through all the posts.

TIA!

Only about 50% of the rooms at the Beach Club have a full full balcony. The rest of the rooms either have a standing balcony, a patio, or no balcony at all. Only a few rooms don't have any balcony or patio.

We always request a full balcony because that is most important to us.

Thanks for the information! We like to have a full balcony too.

I have a "magical" deal and asked my agent if they could be upgraded to AP and she said there have been recent changes and YES they can be upgraded to AP. They will not price bridge so you lose any savings on the ticket discount. For example, if you are paying $336 for a ticket and you want to upgrade to AP; Disney will not give you the value of the ticket. You will have to pay the difference between $336 and $797 (Platinum AP). Of course, what she says and what may happen could be completely different.

We got back yesterday from an awesome stay. If you have little ones Easter is an absolutely wonderful time to go. The staff had a whole mini carnival set up. They did a candy scramble, then they set up stations. They had paint your own ceramics, decorate your own cupcakes, pick a ducky, bowling, ring toss, scavenger hunt, cake walk and more. The CMs were absolutely wonderful and really made the day special. We've been to WDW pretty much every holiday and Easter is by far my favorite.

Did you stay at YC or BC?

How bad was the construction at YC?

Thanks for your responses about the tickets! That's what I figured..
Most, if not all, of their deals are available as room only, so perhaps you could book the room that way, then purchase the tickets separately and upgrade upon arrival?

I don't know about the other deals but, the Labor Day deal is for discounted room and discounted tickets.

ETA
For our Labor Day deal trip we're saving $100 per ticket for 8 day PH+.

Thanks for sharing that info. It's the main thing we are concerned about getting, too.
