Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

From the little research I've done on these, a lot can be adjusted to normal refrigerator temps and sections can get to 32 degrees when on the lowest setting. The shelves are definitely adjustable so a half gallon will fit on it's side.
As an aside, what am I doing to change my font size in the middle of typing?

These remind me of a Summit model, which is expensive in retail so I can't imagine that's the brand. If anyone staying there can get the brand/model, we'll be able to get the specs and know what to expect when there. I don't think we'll have a problem storing left-overs or temp sensitive items, though.
I contacted DSS and this is what they told me re: the refrigerators:

Thank you for your email and I'm sorry for the delay in responding.
After confirming with one of my partners from our resort, there are mini
refrigerators in the refurbished rooms. While they may not have a
visible thermometer, they are able to maintain the proper temperature
for milk and other such items.

Sorry, but what is DSS?

Sorry, but what is DSS?

Disney Signature Services. It's the new name for IPO, which coordinated itinerary/adrs/requests for club level guests. There used to be a kind of separation between resort IPO CM's for these services but, it's now centralized and not resort specific.

51 days out from YCCL and not contacted, but I don't need anything. It's just interesting. The old IPO didn't contact me in 2012, either!

They never contacted me either, but the couple of times I've contacted them, they've been SO helpful!!! They saved me an hour wait on hold for Star Wars Tour tix, they updated my DME reservation twice (THANKS United ), and got the fridge info for me.

We are staying in July, got a call about a week after I booked. Which was the day the summer discount came out. I also got a card in the mail from them today.

Currently booked at POR but wanting to switch to BC in July. My only question is about the visibility/noise of the YC construction from the BC? I don't want to pay deluxe prices to see constant construction! TIA for any insight anyone can offer!

Based on the way the two resorts connect (only on the first floor, really) and how they aren't really "touching" I don't think you have anything to be concerned about. We're going to the BC in May and I'm not worried, and I'm one of those people who never stay at a resort during construction. My personal take is that the construction is really only a rehab of the rooms, so it'll be on the inside of the YC where you can't see it. We stayed at the BC the last time the YC was being refurbed and didn't notice anything.

Hi guys! I have a few questions about Beach Club. We were originally planning AKL but now we may have an extra person in our room so are thinking perhaps BC. I'm just wondering about space really. We will be four adults and a 12 year old. Is the daybed plenty big enough of a 12 year old? Will space be super tight in general? We are using to 3 adults and a child in a value room, so we are used to little space, but wondered if BC would be worse with more of us.

We are only looking at the standard rooms, not DVC, as we want it to be eligible under the UK free dining offer.

Thanks for any help!

The YC's Fittings & Fairings will temporarily close for business starting on 04/17/2017, due to construction. A scaled-down selection of items sold in the shop will be available for sale in a temporary location off the YC lobby, near Ale & Compass.

Is the fifth floor of YC concierge/club level only? We've booked a standard garden view room but DH is hoping for a room on the top floor so we don't have to listen to people tromp around above our heads.

Does anyone know if they sell Lilly Pulitzer dresses in any of the gift shops? I saw some on our last trip at the Grand Floridian and was hoping maybe BC/YC carries a few also :) just in case I don't manage to get to Disney Springs.

Yes. But there are 4th floor rooms that don't have rooms above them. The ones that stretch over the EPCOT wing on the other side of The Marketplace.

Anyone have a suggestion for a request? Maybe "Top floor/4th floor close to EPCOT/EPCOT side of resort"

:goodvibes

Didn't see any at BC in March.

We were at BC in March and had I not read on here that there was YC construction, we wouldn't have known. Only after reading about it did I hear occasional hammering while walking past YC on way back from HS. Definitely didn't hear or see anything from our vantage points at the pool or along the lake. Our room was no where near YC.

For whatever reason there is a funny internet standard that is a banana. In all serious though when you do an iPad or computer just make sure you say what size you have. My 9 inch iPad pro is very different sized then an 12 inch.
Yes and some folks may take a mini iPad, very popular with the professionals who can't bear to be parted from their tech appliances on holiday or just on the go in general.
