Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

Excited about our Disney trip and our stay at Disney's Beach Club Resort!! This will be our first time at the Beach club. Any suggestions or tips? It will be my family of 7, including 2 teen DD, 2 elementary DD, and our Kindergarten DS...
Our teen DD's love the freedom to go to SAB, walk around Crescent Lake, wander in and out of Epcot on their own (usually to get a treat from France bakery or spend money at Japan store/pavilion). Have fun - such a great resort!

I have a feeling you are right!! Since Lily is an only child, she craves being with other kids. I told Jeanne that it will be like an adult only cruise for us ... I think we will have to drag her out of there every day just for dinner. We are going to insist she eat dinner with us every night though. She is so excited about it. She already had one telephone call from Mickey and Minnie about the cruise. She asked us how can they be at both Disney World and on the ship ... we told her they take vacations just like us on the ships and we are just so lucky we will be there at the same time all the characters are going to be on vacation on the Fantasy.

Lily has the best mom and grand mom in the world! You three are going to have a great time!

Great answer! When we first went to WDW with our DDs, we told them that going to WDW was like going in a story book, that there was a lot of magical ways to have these stories come true. And they grew up adjusting reality to that point of view so there was never any clash... Even if Cinderella looks like in the original movie or like Cate Blanchett. Even if Mickey is on a boat, in a park or in an advertisement for Disney Shangai... Because there are many books and many ways to recount a story.

We were told it's been gone for several months at Yacht. They offer beverages (wine/beer/soft drinks) instead.

Confirmed with resort manager in a chat we had in the lobby...
Went last August club level. No welcome cocktail. But we've never been offered cocktails at any club level we've stayed at!

Have Any recent visitors tried the Sunken Treasure on the menu? Is it the same as the old?

I'm having a podcaster from Unleash the Magic try one later today as he is doing a live broadcast

I'm so excited to be officially joining this group! Just recently booked Feb 25- March 2 at BCV!! This will be a mother/daughter trip with my DD 18, and our very first BC stay, So excited! Love, love, love this thread! :wave2:

We stayed in room 5657 water view, full balcony 2 doors down from the CL lounge at BC in Dec. This room was perfect, 1 queen bed and a pull out sofa bed. Overlooking the lagoon and the back entrance - perfect for people watching!!! Would love to be in that room again in Nov!!

I no idea there were rooms with 1 queen bed and a pull out sofa. Is it because of space?

Thanks for sharing!!

I think so, it didn't look like they could have fit 2 queen beds in the room- it would have been really tight. We have a king bed at home and I know this wasn't a king bed- it was a queen.

I have a silly dilemma. We arrive at MCO at 1:15 EST (will feel like 12:15 due to time change) Knowing my kids and hubby they will be hungry but eager to get to Disney. Do we grab a quick bite at the airport when we land or do we tough it out until we get to BCV? I know that could be 90 minutes which slightly worries me especially since they don't have any super quick service locations right there. If we did wait, what would you suggest when we get there? The Marketplace looks ok, maybe Hurricane Hanna's but that is outside by the pool right? Anything equally as close? Do we trek over to yacht?

I would estimate almost two hours before you are actually eating. But if you want to wait until you get to the BC then there is the Marketplace and Hurricane Hana's there. The boardwalk has some quick service options, too, like the pizza window and the food cart. There are also sandwiches in the Boardwalk bakery. The Dolphin resort has a quick service location, too.

If you wait until you arrived at the BC before eating then you won't be eating lunch until around 3pm. What are your dinner plans?

Just head down to Disney Springs to eat at Wolfgang Puck Express when we start to get hungry. No parks that night.
