Outdoor Movie Setup

Those chairs don't look very comfortable for watching an entire movie, I thought they had lounge chairs for the outdoor movies? They had lounge chairs at All Star Music and AKL when we watch the movies there. Is that the same screen as before? Thanks.

Next month we are staying at the Beach Club for the first time, having previously always stayed at AKL or WL. So, we are going out of our comfort zone. Have we done the right thing? Eeek!!

I've stayed at the AKL and WL and loved them both, I also loved the Beach Club. I think you will be very happy there. :) They are all special and have their own charm and pluses.

Hi Everybody. I haven't been on the boards since moving ... hurts too much. But today I went on and saw so many of my friends. I miss you all so much. I am adjusting to my "new normal" but miss my Florida life horribly.

Some good news though. After our week at Anna Maria Island (July 23-30), instead of flying home from Tampa, Jeanne, Lily and I are driving to Port Canaveral and hopping on the Disney Fantasy for a week. It will be Lily's first cruise and she is beyond excited. When I told her last week, she immediately starting packing and has been repacking and rearranging her pile of things to take ever since. I cannot tell you all how happy I am to be going back on board my happy place.

I miss everybody so much ... for 12 years I saw most of you every year or so and it became part of my life.

I am thrilled that I am going to meet up with some of you when I'm there with Lily in September!!! I wish more of you were going to be there at the same time!

I haven't posted pictures of the new house yet because Jeanne still has boxes everywhere. Hopefully before we head to Anna Maria Island she will have the place unpacked.

Hugs to all!!!!!!!!!

P.S. And my new business "The Grading Nanny" is taking off like crazy ... been busy all summer too since lots of the schools here go year round. Not as much fun as being at the BC but gives me money for my trips!!
It's just not a trip to Wdw without our dinners!
Great news about the cruise. We fly into Ft Lauderdale 8/3. No chance you'll be using that port is there? So close....

Teena so happy you stopped by. What a wonderful extension of your vacation to take Lily on her first cruise. Those will be priceless memories.

When will you be at Disney with Lily? We just extended our trip by a few days. I think we may now overlap

So happy that the Grading Nanny is a big hit. What an innovative new career.

Yay for going on a cruise! What an awesome summer vacation. And congratulations on finding a nice way to earn some trip money!

I have another question :D
There's no QS in the YC, correct? Is there anywhere to fill up coffee and drinks at least? If we're on the DDP, where would we be using our refillable mugs?

Also- 2-7 of November- do you think Christmas decor will be up already? (In the BC/YC or in the parks at all?)

Thank you for explaining :) I still haven't finalized my dates but if all goes well, I think I'd prefer the YC.

Wrote you a message :)

Will you pm me the info too?

TIA!!

We arrive on September 21 and fly back to Vegas on the 27th.

We're booked! DH and I said we'd never go to Disney over the Christmas/NYE holiday stretch again, since we both hate crowds. For the last 8 or 9 years, we've been going away with my high-maintenance FIL to his cottage for the full two weeks of my break. However, it's our 20th anniversary this year, and I put my foot down that I wanted to do something special, and at the very least I wasn't going to spend my anniversary making dinner for my FIL and doing his laundry. So, we've got a short cruise out of Miami, then we're driving to Disney for 5 nights at BC, then switching to the dark side (we haven't been since before the original Potter additions) for 4 nights at the HRH. DH is the best!

So, please add me to the Be Our Guest list for BC, Dec 30-Jan 4 - wahoo!

What are the chances of seeing fireworks from the balcony if we book a standard studio at beach club villas? Also any suggestions on what to request? Ideally we would prefer closer to transportation not ground floor and a quieter room. I guess that negates the fireworks?

Thanks for posting Teena. Great to hear you are keeping busy.

Booked a four night stay Jan. 26 - 30 at the WL. Waiting for the YC to open up ressies for that time slot so I can move back over to the dark side. Saw rooms at the BC were available but looking for the comfort of home. If it doesn't happen, I know the WL will not disappoint.

It depends where you are in the BCV layout, not all the wings/spokes have Epcot view. In our experience, little to no chance of seeing illuminations very well from BCV balcony. You may have better luck. Even if you are in a room facing Epcot, there are trees and a bit of distance between you. You can sometimes see that there are fireworks (which is cool) but the view is heavily obstructed. BC itself is closer to World Showcase. We have, though, had a great view of Spaceship Earth glowing in the distance. And the Land pavilion. But you'd need to be up in at least 3rd floor.
