Congratulations on your 44st anniversary! We just celebrated our 41st at Disney this fall, and I have to say there is NO better place! Be sure to wear you Anniversary button every day! We were amazed how many CMs and other guests wished us a "Happy Anniversary" when they saw it!

I have another question. We plan to go to MK twice. Should we come back for a midday break to swim or is it to much of hassle or take to long with the transportation? We usually just buy the base ticket and return to MK in the evening after taking a break.
Should we just plan something around the MK area to take a break from the heat and to rest?

The bus ride from BC to MK is only about 15 minutes long. The return in a little longer because it stops at the YC first. We always go back to the resort for an afternoon break.

we always try to build in an afternoon break, especially if the park is open late. If we're there when closing hours are pretty early, we may not do it the first couple of days, but by about day 3 or 4, we really do need to have that downtime....even if it's just sitting by the pool or a quiet spot on the grounds. Our routine is hit the parks before rope drop, get everything done we want to do there before the crowds arrive, then, if's it's still mid-morning, go to a different park for a bit and for lunch, then back to the resort for a rest, then head back for dinner and enjoy the park in the evening. How long we rest depends on the most tired person in the group.

Ok good and so it works out pretty well for you going back for a break?

We spent the afternoons at SAB (Storm Along Bay) with our daughter and two grandchildren last month. The kids played in the pool and I enjoyed floating around the lazy river with them. DH and our daughter just relaxed in the shade while the wait staff brought them drinks and sandwiches. It was like heaven. Just yesterday our daughter told me that it was the best part of the trip.

If you get park hoppers then you can walk into Epcot at night. It is just a 5 - 10 minute walk. We planned all of our dinners in either the Epcot resort area or Epcot, which made it really convenient. We went back to the MK after dinner twice, which worked out fine.

Been back now almost two weeks and I'm finally getting a moment to breathe .

Just a few thoughts...
While we enjoyed our first couple of nights at CSR (business class rooms & having access to the lounge are so worth the few extra $$ IMHO), we truly loved being back at the BC.

Glad to hear you had a great time! Thank so much for sharing your thoughts and pictures of the room (whatever room number it may have been)

We were scanned on Monday but the scanner was down on Tuesday.

Now for the Good, the bad, and the ugly.....

Good...love the new rooms at the BC. We had a really large room and the only one left without a connecting door. All the CM's there were wonderful. Nice to see Van again!

Bad...we paid for garden/woods view. Got first floor (requested upper floor and large balcony) and the view was glass, lattice, and people eating. No other rooms without connecting door available but we were compensated.

Very Ugly....witnessed a verbal fight on the YC porch/DSA. Guy smoking a cigar and it upset some people. Cigar smoke is very heavy and probably should not be smoked around a lot of people. DH told a CM standing outside but the guy did nothing to stop the altercation. It really is a bad place for a DSA...IMHO.

Somewhat ugly.....we usually go to F&W in Nov. We are from FL and have not seen record breaking temps for this time of year in Orlando. Very hot and not getting cooler any time soon.

Ya just can't fix stupid . That man should know better not to smoke a cigar in public areas, even designated smoking areas. They are extremely strong. My dad loved Cuban cigars! It was one of the things he looked forward to when he'd come up to visit me in Canada. I made him go outside on the balcony with the door shut to smoke!

We always take a break. I never found it too much trouble.

Love the new rooms...so much nicer in person and we had an awesome garden view/corner room on the 2nd floor. One funny thing about the room? Our room receipt states that our room number was 2648 but I could have sworn the plaque outside our room said 2649 . I'm starting to think I may have had a little too much at F&W this year .

Room number 2648 is a corner room that faces the parking lot side of the resort. I can't find a room 2649 on the map, but that doesn't mean there isn't one.

We added a day to our trip in April at the YC. Southwest had a nonstop one day later so we grabbed it.
Now I need to figure out where we are going to eat that night. Decisions..Decisions...

I hadn't heard of any BC rooms with one queen and a sleeper chair, so I checked the website:

2 Queen Beds and 1 Day Bed or 1 Queen Bed and 1 Twin-Size Sleeper Chair and 1 Day Bed or 2 Queen Beds or 1 King Bed and 1 Day Bed or 1 King Bed

Sleeps up to 5 Adults

I didn't realize that they added sleeper chairs to some of the rooms.

That is news to me, too! I'll be interested in seeing pictures of the room set up and sleeper chair.

As others are talking about bedding in the rooms. The deluxe room, which I believe there are only 6 of, which list two queen beds and a daubed, since refurb they now no longer have a day bed. They have 2 queens and a queen pull out. I slept in the one at BC for 5 days and the one at CR for 7 days. These are not moms rev type pull out couches or the old ones grandma and my aunt had, they held me well, I slept well, and I had no back discomfort, even when I was very sick and uncomfortable, it was not the bed. I am large for my build and have had back problems, but these sofas were very comfortable. Hope that helps someone.

Just booked my 2nd Yacht Club stay for 8 days in March 2016. I fall in the camp that Yacht and Beach Club are really just the same resort. We have had 4 stays on the Beach Club side.

We love the yacht / beach club mainly for being able to walk to 2 parks, 5 hotels, and at last count 30+ food and beverage choices not including the parks.

With 30+ trips to the world, we tend to go to the parks from 9:00am to 1:00pm, then do the afternoons at the pool before returning to the parks at night. So a good hotel experience is a must.

We are staying at the YC CL from Dec 6-14 (9 days). I have an AP and DH has a 7 day park hopper- when we get at Disney I want to upgrade this ticket to an AP. I've been trying to make FP reservations on day 8 of our vacation, but the system won't let me. Do you think its because of DH ticket on being 8 days? When can the people who are not staying on property get to make FP reservations? Maybe I'll have to wait.

That particular area, whether wise or not, is a place where people who choose to smoke cigars or cigarettes have been given a space. For someone to choose to have an altercation over the choice, in a designated area, was wrong. Those folks have another 43 square miles to enjoy their space while the smoker had a mere 6-8 feet. Further, it is an outdoor area and easily avoidable if it offends. For anyone to get "ugly" is ridiculous--the cigar smoker paid his price to be there and was abiding by the rules.

Are they the same company as Scentair.com?
Last year when I was at the Yacht Club, I asked about their scent.
They directed me to ScentAir. They said during the year, they scent with the Green Clover & Aloe.
For the Christmas Holiday, they used Noel. I think they said the Beach Club uses Gingerbread.

As mentioned somewhere, ScentAir deals with businesses, and they require a contract. I actually contacted them to see what they offered and costs. I ended up buying a machine off of ebay. The machine is called ScentWave and they use the ScentAir cartridges. The cartridges are limited but do pop up on eBay from time to time. Anyway, I should have my system next week. I ordered it with Green Clover & Aloe. I'll report back on how it is. Depending on how strong the machine is, I'll decide if I will use it at home or work Hope this helps.

DH said that there was an "overflow" of smokers on the porch. The regular DSA had too many smokers so they spread out more. Non-smokers that stay there pay to use that area (public space) as well since it is on the way to the pool. I understand why someone would be upset with cigar smoke since it is stronger and kids being in the area as well.

I am so sorry to hear about what you experienced on your trip. I am very disappointed about your description of the lack of consideration and accommodation for your blind mother. If you have not yet done so, I recommend that you share what you have written here with the management of the Beach Club and with Disney Guest Communications.

When we were there we complained to management each day, they gave no real solutions, did not offer anything. On the fifth day mom demanded they move us and they did. We did send a letter to Disney when we got home, 9/11, we have not heard back at all. We are now trying to figure out does she file a complaint with DOJ, ADA states she is untitled to a barrier free room, laundry, food, dishes, bleeding and such on the floor blocking her way is not barrier free. I am not sure if there is a rule on Braille, blind individuals are really the least accommodated individuals than any other disability. When we asked they said all they had to do was come to the room and help mom out if there was an evacuation ( I can guarantee that no one would ever have come to the room), I do know in restaurants they are allow to treat my mom as if she is a kindergartener and read the menu to her, but Ada law, Disney has over 150 restaraunts only 10 to 15 have menus, I know mom hates to be read to, like all of us we scan and scan and scan before we decide, she wants to be able to scan and scan and then pick. I personally can not understand Disney and why they refuse to accommodate visually impaired individuals. They spent millions on barrier free for w/c, they spent thousands on light fixtures for deaf. And if anyone has ever tried to book either of those rooms, they are always booked and very hard to find. For blind they do not do what is required by ADA, barrier free, meet and greet (which we even paid for thru club level) and orientate to the room ( which when asked they did not know what we were talking about (hence why mom did not know there was a coffee pot). But for pennies on the dollar, Disney only has to send the instructions for there phone, evacuation and safe and have it put in Braille, or even better than that, tape record all the instructions and put it onto the phone under dial 1 and that would cost them what 15 minutes of someone's job, a and it would be so much easier for a blind person. But we have to pick out fights, it's it worth it, Disney has been told this for more than 12 years, in 2008 we know they were told this, in writing because my mom almost ended in the river with a baby strapped into a stroller because things were not barrier free. We love Disney, but when we complain we get the bottom of the bottom person, we need the top person, the one who can here, that for pennies they could accommodate ever blind person and make them feel human when they visit, rather than sub human who have to depend on others. To Disney, because they moved us they feel they fixed the problem, yet for the room type they moved us to, cost more for one night they could have for that price accommodated every blind person for a decade and that is what we would have preferred.

I saw in the pictures what looks like a 4 or 6 cup maker? Not sure if they changed it out or not. If not do they sell the packs that go in or should I pack some?

We rented DVC studio in the villas and I like to have a cup of coffee before I go to sleep Crazy I know but I love my coffee Being a single parent with young ones I don't feel comfortable leaving the kids in the room alone and taking them with me usually involves either "I am not buying that because I said so" or a large bill!!
