I just thought it was a good excuse to delay the flight back home.

We're scheduled to fly home on Tuesday. I'm a little nervous about it. I don't mind being stranded at the YC but I sure don't want to be hanging around the Orlando airport for endless hours.

I did some checking through the first pages and found the information about shipping things to the resort. If I buy something from Amazon and have it shipped to the Beach Club, it will likely go via UPS right? So getting things from Amazon is basically a bad idea?

Check the first post on page one of this thread. We really don't know when the YC refurb is going to start. Possibly the nekked ladies of the Solarium can investigate that this weekend?

Thank you for the information. Was planning on staying at Port Orleans Riverside but thinking I might like to stay at Yacht Club or Beach Club. I have never stayed at either one of them. Enjoyed my time at Wilderness Lodge but thinking that I spend so much time in Epcot, might be best to look into one of these resorts. I also love Yachtsman Steakhouse and Cape May (dinner) a lot. I also was told that deluxe resorts usually get a discount of 30% come February. Thank you again.

I'll take my chances.... As long as I get out I'm all set, and it seems as though Saturday flights are a go go... They can hold me hostage there as long as they'd like!!

Now on to the next dilemma... to bring the camera stuff or not... NM care to weigh in on this one??!?!!?

Don't worry about Flight delays going home. Wood Nymph will let us bunk with her and the family at Port Orleans Riverside .

I'm bringing my camera but it's a waterproof one. We have to take the Synchronized Pool Tube Team team picture for the Olympic yearbook.

Who is this Erica chick that might be there the same time as us? Is It Erika Murphy ( hopeful look!) ???

Somebody asked about ordering from amazon and having the package shipped via UPS.

I have shipped by Fed Ex to the Beach Club a few times. Yes, my package was delivered to the convention center, but it wasn't a big deal walking over there to pick it up.

On the other hand, it wasn't in the middle of a tropical storm or hurricane.

On the other other hand, if people are staying at the yacht club, aren't the buses temporarily dropping off at the convention center anyway? So it's not like it's a terrible walk.

The company which runs the business office in the convention center does charge a handling fee. I have posted about it before when using my computer. Too lazy to get off the bed now to check the fees.

Hello all,
I'm sorry that I'm not more active on these boards while I'm at WDW, but I really try to shut the world off when I'm on vacation, but now I've been back since Monday and am having major withdrawal...

Anyway...mini trip report!

We checked into the CR from 8/14-8/19 and immediately didn't feel at home there. The room was huge, very well air-conditioned and appointed, and the view of the monorail was cool (we were in the Garden Wing), but the decoration was like that of your typical Marriott or Sheraton. There was no Disney theming at all....like at all. So we went to the desk, and were brutally honest, saying we just weren't very happy. A very nice manager named Mario, who we will be writing a letter about asked no other questions. He called the Poly, GF, YC, BC and BWI to see if any of them would take us immediately, but none could. He then did some digging and rearranging,as the CR was pretty well booked itself and said that if we could stick out 2 nights in the room we paid for, he'd move us to the main tower (no charge) for our last 3 nights, with a Bay Lake View. Having no real other option, we took the offer. The view from the tower (8th floor), was very pretty, and we really didn't hate the resort at all, but we didn't ever really warm up to it either. We're glad we tried it, but wouldn't rush back. (Big props though again to Mario, the AC and the huge rooms).

Then we moved "home" to BC where we had been upgraded from a SV to a LV room and it was such a gorgeous view...and those new rooms? Holy cow! We want our new townhouse to look just like those rooms! They had the theming we missed at CR, without being garish. The staff at BC was perfect as usual, with MJ being a new, lovely friend, and of course Teena who it was so great to see! I don't have much else to write about BC because everything was fine! The only tiny problem we had was with the AC not being strong enough, but a quick trip to the concierge desk in the lobby fixed that pretty quickly. Oh! And the week we were there, the YC/BC cartridge that gives off the YC/BC smell...you know the one....had run out! Boo! They needed to replace it. Hopefully they have replaced it, but I will say, if you are needing a fix, CR has picked up the scent as well...and it's really....like really strong over there, so if you have CG reservations or CM reservations, stop by the lobby on the first floor and inhale deeply!

Crowds were the usual. We still think FP+ steals all spontaneity from a Disney trip, but we got on all the rides we wanted, and our best meals were at Hollywood Brown Derby and Flying Fish (again....our fave). It was also great to see you Tara!

One could hope it's Erika... Anyway I've decided that after the last 11 months that i've had.. I'm nixing the camera for this trip. I have a water proof cover for it, but I just want to do not a lot of anything that requires me to think...I'll use my phone if I want pics or I'll just take yours I have to bring my comp for work.... as much as I don't want to do that. But just incase someone needs something...

Hmmm... poncho or umbrella??? I don't really do ponchos... so I'm thinking umbrella which will be useless in a hurricane! Maybe i should just pack a shot glass and call it a day Back to packing...

We've eaten there 4 or 5 times and love everything about it. But this time, the duck on the menu was absolutely spectacular! It was the single best thing I ate on this entire trip! Unfortunately, the "frozen" dance party going on outside ruined the old Hollywood soundtrack they usually play. You could hear a steady "Thump" at all times. I mentioned this to the manager on duty while complementing the meal & the service. She remarked that she has this same complaint about the frozen music several times a day. Such a bummer! I love the movie, but hate how it is dominating all the parks..

Are the buses stopping at BC? Or just the convention center?

Right now the actual front entrance of YC is under construction, so currently, the YC bus stop is at the convention center. Buses are stopping at the BC entrance as usual.

I concur with the pp about the magical travel agent saying check in October for April 2016 deals. Mine said that too.

In my ideal world, my unicorn and I would get a cb room with a fireworks view and a full balcony. Is this possible? Is there a room category that's better for this?
