May I ask all of your opinions?

If you had the money saved (and enough for restaurants/spending also) would you book a water view at Beach Club? Or just save the money and do a standard view?

We don't want CL and we would prefer not to stay at Yacht Club. Balconies are fine if we get one or fine if we don't.

For my family, it would 100% depend on how much time we'd spend enjoying the view. We're a park heavy and resort amenity-heavy family, we use the room for sleeping and showering, otherwise, we're on the go, therefore the view has very limited appeal. I'd ask myself, do I really enjoy the view at other non-Disney hotels? If so, then a room with a great view at BC would be worth it, however, if I didn't normally take in the view at other hotels then I really don't think I'd do it at BC either. But hey, it's your vacation do what you think will make it special!!

We do like to relax at our resorts, but we've never booked anywhere with a specific view (other than a balcony on a cruise) so I don't know if we'd relax in the room and enjoy the view or not! We always sit outside or somewhere else because our room usually does not have a good view.
Maybe we should find out this trip. :)

I am usually not one that sits out on balcony at Disney. But at Yacht Club, I seem to always get a room with a water view. The nighttime view of the activity around the lake and the Boardwalk is pretty cool. I came back from the parks each night, grabbed a drink, and just hung out on the balcony winding down. One of the afternoons, I got to watch a wedding at YC from my balcony. Cinderella carriage and all. It was pretty cool.

I have stayed at BC & YC many times and I only book the cheapest view category I can find. I've had views of the roof, courtyard, a random tree, convention center, porte cochere, BCV, etc. I personally don't think paying for a view of Stormalong Bay and/or Crescent Lake with the additional noise and lights is really worth it, but I don't need a balcony either because I rarely use it. At $100-$150 more a night I would personally rather extend my stay in a lesser view accommodation or just save the money.

I like some personal outdoor space for coffee time, wine time, or sit and rest time. So I like at least a woods view at YC (but love a lake view). However, when I stay some where that does not have a balcony, I would not just stand at the window to take in the view. Generally, if the hotel does not have a balcony, I don't really care about the view. If I were to book BC, I don't think that I would spend the money on a view since there is a big chance that I would not have a balcony.

Okay, so here are the pics of the Commodore Suite at YC (5207/5205).
You enter through the door to 5207, which lets you into a small foyer with a closet and 2pc bath. That leads into the living room, with a sofa & two chairs, coffee table, tv and Juliette balcony. To the right is the main bedroom, with a king bed and a bath area almost as big as a room at the All Stars. To the left is pretty much a regular 2 queen room, 5205, complete with door to the 5th floor hallway, including the usual bathroom and closet, just there‘s a normal bedroom-type door without a lock instead of the usual connecting door. Full balconies on both bedrooms. View over SAB and the lake. HUGE. And all sorts of toiletries I’d rarely/never run into before, including aloe, dental and shave kits, the elusive peppermint foot rub and a new one, nail and hand cream.

Post one has pics of the location from below, the entry hall and living room. Post two will be the main king bedroom and bath, post three the second bedroom. (A mod will have to rotate. I can never get them to attach right side up.)

Great photos, worth craning my neck for! jk, thanks for sharing, hope you had a great stay 😄

My take is a little different. I have had rooms at BC which my view was the roof below. It did not like that. Since that happened, my last 4 reservations have been YC CL WV. I get a big balcony, get to see the boardwalk, lake and pool. I also able to see fireworks at Epcot. For us it’s much more enjoyable, bringing a beer or glass of wine back to the room and watching the views.

@GADisneyDad14… how crowded is SAB with this work and can you explain specifically what areas of any of SAB are closed. Much thanks!😀

No parts of the pool are closed. Just some bridges. Really has minimal impact overall. Crowds slightly less than last time I was here in July 2021 (that kind of thing can vary by the hour though). Overall YC and BC are looking great, IMO. The exterior work that has been going on lately (aka, seems like forever) was really needed but it’s starting to shine now, IMHO.

I think I need to be sold on this new TV setup. The main page is an image of YC/BC with a 2-3 song loop, which I guess is supposed to be YC/nautical themed music, although sort of sounds like it could be from Brave.

I like to turn the TV on just for the background music - this short loop just won’t do! 😂

Definitely like the upgraded overall interface though.

I know exactly what you are talking about. Walked in my room with my name on the screen and that song loop playing. It reminded me of renaissance festival musical. When I first got in the room it was just background noise. By the time I got done unpacking my stuff I was in a rush to turn it off.
