Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

Greetings from SAB! We thought today was going to be a complete washout but so far so good. Sis and I are relaxing here while DH heads up to Daytona to see his mom. Normally I would go too but with sis here just for a few days this worked best for us.

Some early thoughts. I had put a room request in through one of the emails that had previously been posted and we were set to arrive mid afternoon Friday. I think that same email has recently been reported as bouncing back undeliverable so I will check at some point for an accurate one. We usually like to check in first thing in the morning after spending a night at Saratoga but decided we would hope for the best, use the online checkin and not put in a room request there. We were on I-4 sitting in traffic about an hour out at 2:35 when we got a text saying our room was not ready but they would contact us again in 45 mins to update us. We received another text 1/2 an hour later saying our room was ready…exactly when I had said we would be here. We were still 30 mins out but were able to park, unload, and we were sitting at SAB for happy hour just after 5. Our magic bands even worked and we did not need to go to the desk. Even better, our request was met. We had requested a specific type of room (off the ground floor and overlooking Dunes Cove pool) and gave our favorite room # as an example. We were so happy to get the text saying our room was ready and it was the room number I had mentioned as an example!!! Nice way to start the trip and we weren’t even on property yet.

We’ve met some great folks here so far! PCFriar stopped by to say hello and another disser overheard me talking plastic wine glasses while we were floating in the lazy river and asked me if I posted here since she had seen . When I said yes she introduced herself as well. So nice to have a friendly bunch here from the boards.

On a previous visit last fall we fell in love with the u-shaped floats they had in the lazy river. When we were here in April they were down to only one functioning one and getting it was a challenge. We asked the lifeguards where they came from and if we could bring our own and they told me as long as they are see through clear we could. We contacted the manufacturer and were able to buy 2. I will say we’ve gotten a few dirty looks when we take them out of the lazy river and back to our table and a cast member actually followed us as we were leaving the pool with them and we had to explain. It was all good. I’m glad they asked.

Let me know if anyone needs to know anything. We are here until Halloween.
Can you tell us where you got the float?

Hi all just a short note about our shortened 1day stay. The evening of Oct 31 while in the room I fell and broke my hip. Reedy Creek was awesome… unfortunately the YC staffs were not. I was taken to Avent Health for a hip replacement. Wonderful Docs and staff. I was in for 4 days and transferred to a rehabilitation facility near my home in the Melbourne.

Long story short… the accident was my fault not Disney. The staff however was not helpful or empathetic. Never heard anything from Disney. I will send them a note when my head is clearer. Again, I want to stress the fall was my fault. I want nothing from Disney other than a notice that it was reported and staff will be better trained.

Enjoy your stay! Just be safe.

Does anyone have a general idea if the majority of the rooms at the Beach Club have walk in showers vs tubs? I'd prefer to have a walk in shower. And wondered if I needed to make a request. If the chances of getting a tub are low, I won't bother.

I have water view booked, if that makes a difference. (non club level)

Edit: added view type

Unless something has changed, I believe that most of the rooms at the Beach Club have tubs and not walk-in showers. The Yacht Club added a lot of rooms with walk in showers during the latest rehab (2015?), but I don't think the Beach Club made that change. Some of the handicap-accessible rooms may have walk-in showers.

Waiting for YC room assignment as we're attending a conference. Wondering if they usually put conference attendees in a certain section of the hotel? Supposed to have woods/garden view.

:welcome: to posting on this forum.

Hope you had a great trip!

I know that they are not offering full housekeeping yet, but will they do it if you request it? I was at the DLH in California two weeks ago. They only “offered”towel and trash service, but I asked for full housekeeping and they did it. Not sure they were happy but I was! And I tipped the housekeepers each day too.

Thanks for sharing that. It never hurts to ask!

::yes::

How do you submit your request? Is it through TouringPlans? We’re staying at YC for the first time in January and I don’t know what specific room numbers to request, but I do have some other preferences.

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1, Post 15.

:cool2:

Dee can you please add us to the Be Our Guest list for February, we will be there Feb 10-13 staying at the BC for our anniversary.
We have been living here in Florida for 3 months now and are loving every min of it. We so love being close and being able to go to Disney whenever we want. We have been going about once a week but we miss staying on property.

Will do!

:woohoo:

Hi all! Anyone know the rack rates for a standard room for April 2022 at both Yacht and Beach? Looking to book for late April 2023, so just seeing what rates are for 2022.

I tried to check similar dates online, but all standard rooms were booked.

Thanks!

:welcome: back here! Hope you are able to book a trip when you are able to.

:thumbsup2

We got back on Sunday from our first stay at Yacht Club, frankly, at any Deluxe resort. It was wonderful! We were in room 2140, just steps from the elevators and facing the front of the hotel. I would have preferred to face the gazebo, but at least we didn’t have any workers on our balcony. The room was quiet, despite being near the elevators and facing the bus stop. We had two queen beds and a sofa. Housekeeping came every other day to empty trash, replenish towels, toiletries, and coffee. The pool was fantastic. We were able to find shady spots both days we spent there. I will say that there aren’t a lot of rafts for the lazy river. We had to wait for one each day. As for bus service, we never waited more than 5 minutes for one, either going to or coming from the parks. We walked to Epcot and used the boat to Studios because we saw it coming when we were walking out. I loved being so close to two different parks.

We really loved this resort and hope to stay again when we return in a couple of years. We’ll actually try to rent points at Beach Club to save a bit of money, if we can. I truly loved the Crescent Lake area, so I wouldn’t say no to staying at Boardwalk either.

So glad to hear you enjoyed your trip! Thanks for sharing your comments.

Hello! I’m so sorry if this is a repeat question, but we are staying at BCV for the first time in February. Are people staying in the villas able to book cabanas? Everything I am reading seems to specify the resorts and doesn’t mention the villas. Thank you all!

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

:goodvibes:

Just to clarify, the advance window to book cabanas is 60 days out now, correct? I was actually on the phone with Disney the other day, hoping to book a cabana, and that’s what I was told. I am very curious how challenging it typically is to book a cabana, as we have just scheduled a stay at BC for June 2022 and it’s high on my wishlist to get one for a day or two while we’re there.

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list- I saw in a subsequent post that you will be staying club level

:woohoo:

The BC has mostly tub/shower combos. The only walk in shower we ever had at the BC was in a handicapped room. You could switch to the YC if you would like a walk in shower, although they would be a request and not guaranteed. :)

You guys? Are we no longer able to book room only at 499 days out?

It was 500 days out (was previously 499) but since 500 hit 1/1/2023 they have stopped making reservations available online or via phone. I keep waiting for Disney to change this at some point here soon, but TBD of course.

Thanks! - yes I always would call and book the room I want early....guess I'll have to book with the masses when they release packages at some point.

Here's to hoping they will have a standard view at either Yacht or Beach!!!

Anyone had luck checking for cancellations for cabana rentals?
We're checking in tomorrow and staying through Monday. Last minute reservation so all cabanas were booked for the entirety of our stay.
They said we can go down every morning and check for cancellations.

Our wonderful trip at the Beach Club has ended and we are home now. We were in room 4579, a garden view room that overlooked the volleyball court and close to the elevator by the quiet pool. It was an excellent location. I'll post a room report soon.

Thank you!

:goodvibes:

Dee - please add our next trip to the Be Our Guest list -
YC - Feb 6 to 10, 2022
We decided that we really wanted to return to the either the BC or YC on our next trip. A passholder discount was just released which was 25% of YC and 10% off of BC - so YC, here we come. I like the YC rooms betters, anyway. :)

edited with new information

Will do!

:woohoo:

Anyone stay with 5 adults in one room at Yacht Club? It would be parents and 3 kids in their 20's. We are looking for a reasonable option, spending most time at DHS and Epcot. Any advice appreciated!

:welcome: to posting on this thread!

Let us know if you book a trip here.

There are some excellent suggestions below.

::yes::

Try to book a Deluxe room at BC if you can. There are only 6 but it’s worth trying for the extra space. Deluxe rooms sleep 6. They have 2 queen beds and a queen size sofa bed. YC doesn’t have Deluxe rooms to book unfortunately. We just stayed in a Deluxe room in August with 2 adults and 4 kids ages17-4. We had the one first floor deluxe room #1557 next to the quiet pool and steps from Epcot. It was great. We had the quiet pool and hot tub to ourselves many days! Room has patio and several windows that look out to crescent lake

:thumbsup2

Isn't there a fee when there are more than 2 people over age 18 in a Disney hotel room? Maybe $35 person if you're at a deluxe resort like YC or BC? Don't forget to include that when pricing out resorts.

:thumbsup2

There is a $35 per adult per day fee in a deluxe resort, and it adds up fast!

:thumbsup2

We have had five in our YC room back when the kids were teenagers and it worked out fine. There was a bit of juggling for the bathroom, though. But we made it work. :)

Here's a question... Are the reopened poolside shower rooms (which I believe are accessible from the resort hallways) open 24 hours or only during pool hours? Maybe this could offer an additional place to get ready for members of a large family staying in one room. Would it be safe? I don't think I would consider doing this alone in the early morning hours, but if there were two or more of us, I could see it working.

Merry Thanksgiving!

Thanks for posting this!!!

Thanks so much for posting this. I now have a garden view club level room reserved from May 1 through May 6!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list on Page 1, Post 15.

:cool1:

Just upgraded to a garden level club level room, and am pumped! We had a water view room, but after reading how varying the water views can be, I’m not upset at all about “going down” to a garden view, particularly since club level is a pretty penny more to begin with. We have never stayed in a club level room previously, and I believe we’ll enjoy the convenience.

On another note, being the space-brain that I can be at times, I completely forgot to request a balcony when the CM asked, “Is there anything else I can help you with today?” Is there a way to request this now without having to call again? I was on hold an hour and a half, and would love to avoid that again if possible.

I'll have to call in others for assistance with this- and since this is the first time club level is opening since the panedemic started-

Do club level guests still have access to concierge services, through email or a special phone number? Help making reservations, or like this guest, making a room request?

I haven't looked, but is there somewhere I can read about the current perks of a club level stay?

:magnify:

Excited for our YC stay next week. Saw the carousel this morning when we had our weekly Cape May breakfast (as long as Pop keeps eating well, it’s worth every penny!). Also saw that club level is reopening, so we changed our May 17-20 stay to BC CL! Making memories for b’days ending in 0!

That's awesome!

Are you turning 30?

I'll update the list.
