Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Hi all. We have added 2 nights YC club onto the end of our stay in late Aug.
I enquired about one of the new Cabana at Stormalong as we will be have a resort day and thought this would be a nice surprise.
So price was ;
Half Day Rentals at Stormalong Bay (feature pool) at the moment are: $211.94 plus tax
Half Day Rentals at the alternate pool are: $179 plus tax.
Full Day Rentals at Stormalong Bay (feature pool) at the moment are: $318.44 plus tax
Full Day Rentals at the alternate pool are: $265.19 plus tax.

Not sure how this compares to other resort pools but it was higher than i had seen originally advertised.

Be great to hear any reviews once they become available.

Thanks

That's interesting...I called 2 days ago to inquire about these cabanas and pricing and was quoted a price of $137.39 for a half day rental. Also no mention was made of SAB or alternate pool. I asked specifically for the new cabanas at Yacht Club. She did verify that I was going to be a guest there and explained this is the only resort where you can not "cabana hop" you must be a guest. However anyone can book for example a GF cabana. My booking is next Saturday so I wasn't able to book when I called. Seeing your information I'm very confused.

Cabana prices at the other resorts are seasonal, so that sometimes/usually explains why you see people post different prices - FWIW. I’m ‘assuming’ YC/BC cabanas will have similar seasonal pricing.

Yes I have heard pricing is seasonal but the posted said late august and my dates are Aug 22-28 so I thought that should be comparable, although i guess it could vary week to week. I was most confused by what they meant by alternate pool. I assumed there was only one location for these.

I have to post, ‘cause only you guys will get why I’m excited.

Checked into ASMusic at midnight last night, got a fabulous pool view room in the building closest to the lobby, even with a king bed, which was my only request. And got a coupon in my email for 50% off my next ten Lyft trips, which was perfect timing since we needed a Lyft in the morning. So, I figured that was my birthday pixie dust. But no, the best was yet to come.

Lyfted over to BC this morning to check in for our “real stay” and when we arrived at the front desk the CM said “Happy birthday, hang on one minute while I get someone to take you up to the club level to check in.”

My heavily discounted standard view standard room magically became a water view club room. Best birthday ever! It’s way at the end of the hall, above B&C, with a king bed and two Juliette balconies, one of which provides a view over SAB and beyond to the lake and the Boardwalk. Oh, and it’s got a Keurig, for interest’s sake.

I’m over the moon. Talk about an awesome surprise. Seriously, best birthday ever!

I am similarly confused about the alternate pool cabanas. I also called and only one type of cabana was mentioned for this resort, I posted about the amenities that I was able to write down a few posts ago. I know that phone CMs can be unreliable but I am pretty confident in the information I received as it matches what I know about the construction and amenities of these cabanas at other resorts...

Has there been any talk of the Cabana boy line up? I hear Johnny Depp isn't really busy these days now that his version of Captain Jack has been retired from the Pirates of the Caribbean movie empire.

How much does the Cabana boy gig pay? Also, what is the uniform that they will be wearing? Is there such a thing as a Cabana Boy Speedo?

Asking for some friends....

The Cabana is booked for the 24th of Aug. I booked through signiture service. I wasnt aware there were options at the other pools but assumed these were the quite pools.

Good morning !

Wow that’s a nice upgrade ! I’d feel jealous but I got a great TA discount , way lower than the AP rate this weekend so I’m good :)

Oh and Happy Birthday @bookbabe626

My dd arrived 8:40 and instead of my arrival to mco of 9:40 , I landed WAY early and met her at ME about 9:20.

We got a room ready text soon after .

We got a full balcony and meh view . It’s fine tho , I didn’t want the front facing views so I’m good.

I really like this room . I have been so lucky to have stayed at almost all of the resorts and this has a nice layout . Lot of drawer space , the entry isn’t too tight, and I like the wide opening for the sink area.

We changed out of our winter clothes to shorts and went right to MK . We moved our evening Splash to noon and did that after lunch at CR.

We got SOAKED!

So we decided we might as well swim so headed back to BC . Got off at yc and checked out the shops on our way back .

What’s in that cup ? Hmm ? After getting up at 3am I was getting cranky so I bought a bottle of pinot noir . A few sips at the pool and a few spins on the lazy river and I was ready for a nap !

Around 5:30p we went to MK by bus and mono to poly . Had 2 each Appies at traders outdoor . This was just a great way to relax .

Then we hit the shops , mono to gf to shop , then boat to MK . No hurry because we had our fav SM fp for 7:30-8:30:)

Did that and buzz and back to resort . Shared a yummy PB cupcake and passed out by 10:30.

Today is Hs am . Then DS and more pool . Then illuminations dinner tonight .

Probably my best ever arrival day ! Everything just went smooth!3931A2FC-15AB-48C2-8947-8AB1482C86FF.jpegDE5E4047-71C1-475B-B44E-E75A91A4A3E8.jpeg5A336A63-9B06-4EE6-A304-A35442DBF1C4.jpegD89AE885-69CE-4171-9665-83B814474D8C.jpegB50422D4-B015-44CD-BDEC-C746E991FA47.jpeg7E204ED3-90B3-454B-BA04-6FA0C1D5660F.jpeg887144EF-FC17-4955-92C1-E6D7E28A17F5.jpeg55E1C185-3291-4C3B-AD05-A48890C65183.jpegA8B5F185-5A2A-4903-A774-CBD4546E3C04.jpeg

We seem to get that view every time we book a standard view room through the travel agent.;)

You should be able to see the high fireworks from DHS from that room, that is, if you are in the room when they go off. :)

Staying at YC this trip 4/30-5-7. We are normally BWI folks. Last time at YC was 1997. We could see Boardwalk being construction from our balcony. We saw Illuminations from the Breathless. Boat driver took us on high speed run all around the lake. There weren’t many boats back then traveling from Studios.

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1, Post 15.

Thanks for the trip down memory lane!

Hi. Just made our booking at YC oct 4-11. Will you add us to the Be Our Guest list?

:welcome: back!

Of course! My pleasure to add you to the list.

:woohoo:

Hi!

In the beginning of this week, I have been shocked to notice the changes regarding the FP+ (that "tiers" thing) since I was there the last time in 2017. I have been told by many that I should have inquired about those changes before my "picking FP+" day in order to avoid disappointment...

:scratchin Okay. Sounds fair.

So, I figured it would be the right thing to do with the Beach Club and the Club Level before we go in April.

The last time I've stayed at the Yacht & Beach Club - YC Club Level was in 2015 (I've also stayed CL at the Grand Flo' during the same year) ...

Was there any changes to the Beach Club and/or the way the Beach Club Club Level works since 2015?

Thanks in advance!

I'll add you to the list.

Good question- I haven't stayed at club level since 2016, so the experience I have is even more ancient than yours.

Some of the offerings have changed/expanded. They have a hot, rotating breakfast entrée each morning. The evening appetizers also have improved and become more meal-like than nibbles. Lounge is open 24 hours now (I think).

Question for the masses:

Is there still ice cream available in the coolers?

What's the deal with fast pass service?

:goodvibes

Thank you so much for the detailed info and the new wrinkle of "alternate pool cabanas" That is the first we have heard of that!

:fish:

I just have to say, I love coming and reading this thread (about my favorite resort). It is by far the friendliest and most helpful of all the threads (on any of the boards)! Thanks so much Dee! :flower1:

Can’t wait to be back at the BC this summer!

Awwww!!!

Thanks so much for the kind words!

Can you private message me your room number so I can post your view pix after your trip?

THANKS for checking in and so glad you're having fun!! There's just something warm and inviting about the BC rooms - we always sort of feel "home" when we get there. Enjoy the rest of your trip! :flower1:

This is a long overdue YC room report from mid-December 2018. It is pic heavy and covers multiple posts, sorry for being a thread hog but maybe this will be helpful for others for future reference.

For this trip we booked a 2BR suite (frankly, we were doing some :magnify: for a potential larger family trip later this year) and I had a hard time finding accurate/current/post-renovation info on these particular rooms. I owe @natebenma a huge thank you as she was kind enough to set me straight on a few fronts before our trip!

The room type here is the "2 Bedroom Suite - Club Level Access" that you see on Disney's website. There are a few other types of 2BRs suites around YC...the Admiral Suite, Captains Deck, Turret Suites, etc - this room category is NOT one of those rooms, those are separate room categories and have to be booked over the phone.

We had Room 3209. This room included:
  • Master Bedroom w/ King Bed & Master Bath & Separate Balcony
  • Second Bedroom w/ King Bed & Full Standard Bath (this room is more or less the same as a standard resort room, with some exceptions) & Separate Balcony
  • Living Room w/ Pull-Out Queen Sleeper Sofa & Full Standard Bath & No Balcony
So, 2 King Beds, 1 Queen Sleeper Sofa, 3 full bathrooms. Room capacity per Disney is 6.

As for location, see the red arrow on Dee's map below.

For a secondary visual (which isn't drawn particularly well), here's the floor map in the room:
IMG_2376.jpeg

And lastly, here's a screenshot from the Touring Plans Room Finder map, also not drawn quite to scale, but close enough to show general room location within the resort.

TouringPlans Map.png

The labeling turned out pretty small below, but the circle is the balcony off the Master Bedroom. The Second Bedroom balcony is not visible here but is in the corner behind that faux dormer/turret thing (that is not a part of the room).
IMG_2608.jpeg

Here's a view looking up at the room windows. Again, those dormers aren't part of this room, that's just an architectural accent that covers a sitting area below. The Second Bedroom balcony is just to the left off picture.

A similar, but different angle...

Here's a look at the Living Room. This part of the suite has hard wood floors, the bedrooms have carpet. That couch is the sleeper pullout.

IMG_2393.jpeg

The door you see in the back goes to the Second Bedroom. The Master Bedroom and Second Bedroom are on opposite sides of the suite.

This is the full bathroom off the Living Room, which includes a tub/shower. There is a small refrigerator underneath the cabinet with the coffee maker/microwave.

These are the main doors to the suite. The Second Bedroom also has a door to the hallway.

The Master Bedroom feels nicely isolated from the Living Room and Second Bedroom. It's a nice size, but maybe a touch awkward in layout though.

I'm standing in the Master Bedroom, looking back at the Living Room. Closet doors to the right.
IMG_2371.jpeg

Master King. The bathroom is on the left/not visible.
IMG_2422.jpeg

From the bed looking back at the TV. The Living Room is to your top right in this image. This is a good, usable room - but it's not pompous or overly luxurious (which I mean to imply is a good thing).
IMG_2427.jpeg

Unfortunately I have NO PICS of the bathroom, which is probably the best part of the suite! It's a nice size bathroom with a walk-in full tile shower that is different than a normal room. Dual vanities and a separate toilet room. Two adults getting ready was a breeze here!

Master closet...
IMG_2373.jpeg

Balcony view. I'm not necessarily a fan of these partially enclosed balconies as they feel smaller/cramped, but I'm not complaining with this view!
IMG_2866.jpeg

Seems like the cabanas that are now under construction would be right there in the middle of this view.

A panorama view from the balcony.

Thanks for posting your pictures. The picture of the windows solves a mystery for me. I always wondered if those rooms were normal resort rooms without a balcony. But it makes perfect sense that they are part of a two bedroom suite. :)

The suite looks gorgeous. I think they did a good job when they remodeled it.
