Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

That's not the real reason that you have been so busy! I have it on good authority that the Mankini shopping for Mr. NateBenMa is not going so well! Apparently the Mr. is not fond of the Red White and Blue color scheme of the Olympic Stormalong Bay Synchronized Pool Tube Team uniforms and he is holding out for the lime green color he saw in the Mankini catalog.

Please tell your domestic diva that we here on the Official, Olympic, Stormalong Bay Synchronized Pool Tube Team take our fashion responsibility very seriously and it's going to be red, white and blue or he is off the team (unless he is buying the drinks)! If he wants to rock the lime green mankini he can do that on his own time. Perhaps you can appease him with the knowledge that the wearing of the mankini is just not limited to poolside. Common household chores like dish washing and cleaning the gutters can be accomplished while he rocks his favorite lime green mankini. You may even be able to get him to help out with undesirable chores like grocery shopping by promising if he goes to the store he can wear his favorite outfit!

Keep in mind, as you are in the midst of this fashion tussle, that you may be dealing with a husband who is a trend setter. All it takes is one brave soul to start wearing a Mankini everywhere and before you know it all the other Mankini lovers will start to appear. Just think! One day we might even have "Mankini Mondays" at the office! BTW, Mankinis are totally appropriate for the office because everybody knows that they are all business in the front and party in the back! Casual Fridays are starting to look really passe, right?

Dee, I don't envy you as you try to get through this clothing crisis with your husband. It may help to tell him that the Olympic committee has decided to go with clear tubes for the competition. With those clear pool tubes, the red, white and blue Mankini will really show off his assets a lot better so at least there is that!

I hope that you will stand your ground and convince Mr. NateBenMa that being a part of the Olympic Stormalong Bay Synchronized Pool Tube Team is totally worth any fashion sacrifice he may have to make.. Failing that, ply him with Sunken Treasures until he finally agrees and while he's toasted get him to agree to booking a 2017 Disney trip. I think they call that killing two stones with 1 bird, or something like that, which is pretty much what wearing that Mankini is going to do.

This is awesome.

Yesss....arriving from UK on october 3rd for our 1st visit to the Yacht club for 14 nights with free dining plan. Had originally booked to stay at WL (booked last May before construction plans were revealed) and after much conversation(!) with Virgin Holidays, they agreed to move us to the Yacht club. Very excited, as we have always wanted to stay at one of the Epcot resorts.
I will be a regular visitor to this great thread between now and October.

Glenn.

Going to stay at Yacht Club in August for one night before taking the rest of our trip to the Sheraton Vistana Resort. We are getting "free" timeshare from the in-laws, so I couldn't pass up that price. It's me, DH, DD (17), DS (14), DS (13). It's our second time at Disney, first time on property stay. We haven't been in 10 YEARS!! We have a simple plan in place for now, just getting started with dates set and everything. What do you think? We really want to do MK, EPCOT, and UNIVERSAL. I'm planning my days by green lights on Undercover Tourist. My DD claims she dislikes theme parks now, so we have a reluctant teenager on our hands, and it's going to be hot in August, so I tried to work in some flexible days for other activities. I'm not sure if DHS or AK would be a hit.

We have a unique offer code basic package at YC and decided to come in one night early (staying at CBR). We have received our two sets of MBs, yellow luggage stickers and the package booklet for our stay at YC, but we have not received the cute souvenir luggage tags. Do those arrive separately from all these other items or do you think perhaps they messed up and forgot? I'm wondering if things got confused since our inbound flight will be at a room only reservation before we move over to our package reservation. Any thoughts?

Did you book a package, or just RO? The luggage tags only come with a package, and should be in the box with your MBs. Underneath the bands.

ETA: I'm reading your message that you have both a package and RO, so which reservation are the MBs linked to (I'm assuming you only elected to receive one set?)

Cluelyss - we went ahead and received MBs for both reservation. We did not receive the luggage tags under either set of MBs. I'm guessing they forgot.

Dee has information on this on page one of the thread. Don't know the post number off top of my head but check the index and you will find it.

Thanks! I went there and it says you have to have a certain amount of posts, so that explains why I couldn't do it. Thanks again for taking time to reply to the newbie on board. :)

I wanted to make my 100th message a little special. Our family has been to WDW many times. I am an obsessive planner, and even love to research and help others plan their WDW trips. I remember when the internet first started having sites where you could search and communicate with other Disney fanatics. I mainly just search and stalk until it gets closer to a trip, which is the case here. Reading posts and researching brings me such joy. This by far is the best forum out there in my opinion. I'm posting this here because my family absolutely loves YC and cannot wait to be back at our happy place later this month! Thank you all. :)

YIKES! I just tried called to book a standard room at BC for early Sept 2017 - no availability! Say it isn't so....does anyone know if rooms tend to open up?? Today marks 499 days so this is the earliest I could book....

Trying to catch up...

:car:

I wanted to get your expert opinions....We currently have reservations for October 2-5 in a standard room at BC, then we move to a one bedroom villa for the 5th-8th.
As I was trying to look at the new discounts, I noticed that we could change the whole reservation to October 1-7 and stay in a standard Club Level room for about the same amount of money. Is that worth the change or would you just keep what we have? We have only stayed at standard rooms at BC and never stayed club level or the villas. Opinions?

I haven't read ahead... Did you decide to stay put or switch?

:cool1:

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!! We're officially coming home!!!!!!!!!! I had booked a BB for us in December, and just added another room for my DS and DDIL.

:welcome: back!

I'll update the list.

:woohoo:

So may need to amend this. Probably. Yeah. So we purchased DVC - currently our reservation is moved to BVW for same dates Nov 10-15. Waitlisted for BCV, but not terribly hopeful as it's the end of FW...but we shall see. Either way...not only are we doing THIS trip...there are many more to come!

Thanks for letting us know. Hope the wait list comes through, but if not BWVs are still in a great location.

:goodvibes

We just got back from a split stay at the Yacht Club and Polynesian. We loved our stay at the Yacht Club. We booked a water view room and got room #3157 on the 3rd floor. Awesome location near the lobby and dock with a complete Boardwalk view off the balcony stretching from the water slide on the far left to the Swan on the far right. We also had a great view of Illumination and the higher bursts from the Studios. The room was immaculate and showed no signs of any wear. I'd have zero concerns recommending the Yacht Club to anyone looking for a great resort for touring Epcot and the Studios.

Thanks you so much for your review. Glad you had a great stay!

:thumbsup2

So excited! We will be staying at the BC in a one-bedroom club level suite in December with FD. It will be me, DH DMom and DSons (twins who will be 2.5 years old at the time). This is their first trip to WDW and something I have always dreamed of. We have never experienced club level or the BC, so I'm thrilled.

We originally had two garden wing rooms at the CR reserved for May 2017, just before the boys turn 3, but free dining and club level during the holidays made us switch. The room will be tighter, but I think club level and FD will be worth it.

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1.

:cheer2:
