I have looked in other forum posts but cant find a specific answer, Im looking for Stormalong Bay pool hours for November. I have seen anything from 8AM-10PM and 10AM to 6PM and Im trying to plan park days around the pool. If anyone has last years schedule(2018) that would be very helpful

Wow that's quite the hike. I thought a 9 hour drive was bad. Hope you have a great trip!!
:welcome: to the thread!

I read the fine print in your signature and see you have an epic surprise split trip coming up!

I'll add you (quietly) to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1, Post 15

:poop:

6 days away and I’m nervous! I try to plan down to the finest details, checking every potential opportunity, EMH, painting hour, cabana rental, ordered cheap matchy shirts from Old Navy, my mom was sweet and called to order us all matchy shirts- I assumed they were Mickey or Minnie- but they were all Auburn University shirts (our 2 girls go there) and my Dad and I went there- so now we will be advertising football kickoff and must get family pics decked out in our orange and blue...I guess it’s just getting real and it’s bringing up scary memories from our last failed family trip. Does anyone have any positive vibes/pixie dust/or ideas to blow away these jitters??? I know we will love BC but I think our whole family is a bit apprehensive for things to go well- kind of like driving again after a bad wreck...are there any fun things your family does that is a tradition that makes you smile?? We need more of those to consider!!❤❤❤
Hope all is going well so far!!!

I wanted to comment on your family tradition- I bet you will get lots of comments on your shirt.

We have a family college tradition as well- My dad went to UNH, my husband and I were both Wildcats (no, we didn't meet there- high school), my oldest son is a senior at UNH, my nephew and several cousins went there as well. Alas, Ben is not attending the family alma mater- he is off to George Washington University one week from today.

:teacher:

Hi everyone! My husband and I will be at the beach club villas May 11-18, 2020. I'm so excited to be going back. We last stayed at the yacht club in 2015 which was our last trip with my dad.
:welcome: back!

I'll add you to the list.

:cool1:

The salon opened on 8/4. The spa and fitness center is due to open on the 10th.
Thank you so much for the info.

:thumbsup2

Just read a post from this morning. Seems Disney is no longer going to put lotion in the rooms..... might want to pack your own from now on......

Thanks for alerting us to this!

We’ve been here six days so far and we’ve received lotion once. But the toiletries have been hit or miss. One day we had no shower gel, then we had two shower gels and no shampoo, then one day no conditioner. It’s been weird.
Ooooo... toiletry roulette!

:goodvibes

I've read on this thread and also googled but I can't find the answer to this question. Do the "quiet" pools at BC and YC have hot tubs as well or are the only hot tubs located at Storm a long Bay?
My husband enjoys the hot tub in the late evening and we found out the hard way at CSR that the hot tub was in the main pool area and closed early.
:welcome:

Do you have an upcoming trip to the resort.

As previously indicated, the quiet pools do have hot tubs

Good news/bad news- I do have a listing of past pool hours on Page 1, Post 2, but my reporting of the November hours is kind of missing.

    This is what I've got:

    Past Pool Hours
(link to be added to Page 1, Post 2)

    2018:

December 10 am to 8 pm
October 9 am to 9 pm (maybe 10 pm earlier in the month and on weekends)
June, July, August, early Sept 9 am to 11 pm
April, May ??? closing at 10 pm, I believe
January, February, March 10 am to 8 pm

    2017:
October: 9 am to 10 pm (some weekends), 9 am to 9 pm end of month
    September:
August: 9 am to 10 pm
    July
    June
    May
April, 9 am to 10 pm
March, 9 am to 10 pm
    February, ???
January, 10 am to 8 pm

    2016:
early Aug, 9 am to 10 pm
July, 9 am to 10 pm
June, 9 am to 10 pm
early March, 9 am to 10 pm
late February, 10 am to 8 pm
    January 2016, ???

    2015, 2014:
    mid-Dec 2015, 9am to 10 pm
late August 2015, 9 am to 11 pm

    :fish:

My guess is that the November hours will be about the same as December, so 10 am to 8 pm is a very good possibility. The Recreation staff could use their discretion and keep the pool open longer if the crowd levels are high and the temperatures are warm.

Sitting in Beach Club lobby, cooling off and trying to guess if storms will blow over. Pool closed due to thunder.
Yep, this is our day for Cabana- not sure if we should change into swimsuits- just hoping it’ll blow over rather than build- have never been to this pool- so ready to try it!! ❤❤❤
We were also told it could be up to 6pm before housekeeping gets to us...it’s after 3pm...we had no coffee with caffeine- only decaf..got those sent up- and they brought 2 blankets and lotion up...they are very responsive! I also received an offer of 3 additional fast passes if we do the DVC tour- we may do it! Everyone send pixie dust so this storm blows over!

Do it, but see if they'll give you a gift card too. They often give $100 GC, and they'll drop you anywhere you want on property afterward, including a park! (and if you want to buy in, join us on the DVC forum so we can explain resale and why Riviera isn't the best idea, which is what they'll be selling when you're there :). Don't buy from them directly!)

We did the DVC talk last October and got the FPs and the $100 gift card. We also bought in, though.

So very helpful..I don’t think hubby needs it at hotel, but the smaller the better- I think he mainly needs it to get to farther areas in parks- then can manage around the various rides- then trek over to the other side- do people use people movers in the parks at all?
I'll say we rented a scooter a cpl times at the parks for my mom and man are they SLOW...this year we rented from an outside vendor and it was so much faster. - My mom would have to slow down for us, so I'd def go with an outside vendor.

Last year we stayed CL at the Polynesian, and our room was on the same floor and just a few doors down from the lounge. If this turns out to be the case this year where the BC CL lounge is just a short distance from the room, is it acceptable to leave the room and walk a few doors down to the lounge with the video monitor in hand to watch the littles as they sleep? (whispering, "Am I a bad mom for even wondering about this?")

Hey Dee, officially moved from POR to YC-GV for a brief two-night stay Oct. 27-29 to decompress from an eight-night Eastern Caribbean tour on the Fantasy. It;s nice to be coming home. Planning on significant SAB time as long as the weather cooperates.

Can I request a rollaway cot? We'll need a room with 2 queen beds. If we don't get a room with a day bed or a fold-out sleeper chair, can we request a rollaway cot?
Does Martha's Vinyard still host Trivia night?
    :welcome:

When is your trip here? March?

    :cool1:

Yes, you can request a rollaway cot. Used to be free-of-charge, but now there may or may not be a nightly charge, not a consistent policy. Add a request for a daybed to your reservation and if you do not get a room that has one, either request a change or that a rollaway cot be provided.

I have been having trouble determining which activities are still taking place at the resort and when. It seems to change monthly.

Lots of good updated info here, including info on th Wi-Fi upgrade project:
Finally had a chance to read through this. Wow!!! Lots going on.

    ::yes::

We just completed a split stay at Yacht and Contemporary. Aside from the unbeatable theme park view from 4747 at Contemporary, our YC room on the 5th floor (Crescent Lake view) was one of our favorites we have ever stayed at. Super impressed with the refurbishments, especially the walk-in shower. Also, the staff is far superior and much friendlier at YC than Contemporary’s from our experience.
Thank you so much for your comments and comparisons. People are always wondering about how the resorts stack up.

    :thumbsup2

We also just completed a split stay between the Contemporary and YC. We were in room 4748 at Contemporary, so we were neighbors! You are right, that view is spectacular! We were in 2112 at YC, which is a garden view facing the tennis courts. The view wasn't anything special, but the room was quiet the resort is beautiful.
Here's a photo of the view from our room (2112) and the hotel lobby.View attachment 424756View attachment 424755
Thanks so much for the pictures and info!!!

    :thumbsup2

We arrived safely on Thursday evening.

    *snip*
    Thanks for the live update!

Last minute kind of random question. Do the rooms at BC have any outlets close the the floor? I feel like most rooms only have ones that low behing something and not exposed but we started wondering last night if we need to slightly babyproof our room hahaha.

I don't know if it's acceptable, but I'll own I would totally do it. My littles don't sleep that late, though....

I've been back for a week now and finally have a few minutes to post on this thread about our YC stay. In short, it was great and we had a fabulous time. It was me, my sister, 16 yo nephew, and 14 yo niece. My sister only stayed a few days, and then it was just me and the kids. (Hey, I got to be @Best Aunt for a little while!) We were in room 5170 (club level) which was right next to the CL Lounge. That was great for my group, but it would have been too close to the Lounge for DH and me -- a little too noisy.

On the lotion issue, we had a full complement of toiletries on our check-in day (except no sunscreen which we've received for past CL stays). We did not receive extras after that unless I asked for them. That is totally okay with me because they always brought what we needed/wanted. We also did not have a YC provided pen and paper pad. I didn't need those either -- I always have to bring work stuff and have plenty of paper and I always do my housekeeping tips in envelopes before I leave home -- so that's okay with me, too. The rooms don't have clocks which my sister found strange, but that's been that way for a while. There were plenty of outlets to charge devices for the 4 of us, so no complaints on that.

We really enjoyed SAB. We don't just sit out there, we played in the pool. So, we'd just put our stuff on a chair and jump in. We went at various times of the day and night and I never found it too crowded. A couple of times in the afternoon there was no one to check magic bands, so we didn't get a wrist band for the pool. That wasn't an issue for us. I was hopeful, however, that those with bands didn't think we were illegal interlopers. I'd have happily gotten a band had there been someone issuing them. So, for people who complain about those without bands, please recognize that some of us are legit! We used the pool showers a few times because it was just easier to have the kids (and me) use them rather than traipse upstairs to then wait out one another to shower. They were clean and well stocked with toiletries and towels and it was very convenient.

Housekeeping was great. CMs for the CL were terrific and helpful. I was disappointed that the breakfast wasn't ready by 7:00 because that really made us rush to eat and get out to catch EMH, but such is life.

I'll need to get another reservation on my schedule, but work gets in the way of fun. Hope everyone with trips coming up has a great time.

Question- if I book a room at the Villas through Disney’s website, do I receive the benefits of a regular room, ex. daily mousekeeping, toiletries, etc?
