Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Thank you so much! I will request king bed. We are staying at YC so hopefully we will have a full balcony. We are just glad to be going and not getting my hopes up for more than what I am paying for. Anything that is granted is just a bonus in my book. We get what we get and we don't throw a fit. Can you tell? I teach kindergarten. Thanks for you help!!!

Quick q!

We are at the point where we need to confirm our online check in. I already called with a few preferences a few months back and confirmed a week ago. Now online check in confirmation is asking me for requests (ground floor, lower floor, upper floor or water view). Should I leave those blank as they have nothing to do with the requests I called in (balcony, 2 queens, etc). Thanks!!

Yes, leave those bkank.

Oh, wow! You’ve got photos of our balcony directly below you and directly above Marketplace! That’s awesome. We just got home on Tuesday 29th so we checked out on Monday 28th May — we were there for the 15 days from 13th May until 28th. We absolutely loved 2618. It was a fabulous room with lots of fond memories and a beautiful view. It was our first Beach Club stay and we are converts! We absolutely loved the entire resort and the whole Boardwalk area. We are already planning a return trip next year. We upgraded our free dining to deluxe dining and boy was it amazing! We put on 13lbs each!!! ARGH! We’re away again next week to Nashville to CMA Fest (bad timing with so much annual leave, but can hardly wait!).

That’s just so awesome to see our balcony! When did you check in?

:welcome: to posting on the thread!

So glad to hear you loved your stay at the resort. Let us know when you book for next year.

Sorry if this has already been asked and answered - I searched back several pages but didn't find it.

Can someone tell me what the fridge situation is in a Standard room? Is it a mini-fridge full of stuff we can't move without being charged? A mini-fridge that is empty and usable? or something bigger than a minifridge?

Thanks!

:welcome:

Do you have a trip to the resort planned? When?

I know others have answered your questions, but here are some pictures and the post from the first page on the thread about the room chillers.

Will a gallon of milk fit in the room fridge?
Please note that the refrigerators in the Yacht Club post-renovation are different than the ones in the Beach Club rooms- see below for descriptions and pictures of the mini-fridges in both resorts:

At least one half-gallon will fit in the door and possibly more in the main compartment. AT THE BEACH CLUB

We had to take a shelf out, but we fit two gallons of milk, 4 packages of lunch meat, two packs of sliced cheese, a thing of butter, 12 cans of beer, and a 10" cake.

These are the refrigerators in the newly renovated YACHT CLUB rooms (2017)

Thanks for the pictures Derry Wade and pas130

We did have to move the shelves around a bit, into the two uppermost slots. It was actually easier to fit the gallon jug into the new fridge vs. other mini-fridges, because there's nothing poking out from the door, and you don't lose any space to a freezer compartment. Other times we've had to put gallon jugs on their side to fit, depending on exactly where the compressor is and how the shelves sit.

If you already called in a request, always leave it blank at online check in.

Our YC room a few weeks ago had an empty useable mini-fridge, but it wasn’t your standard dorm-style square one. It was shallower and taller, but it still easily fit some milk for coffee and a few bottled waters.

I think there’s a pic in the post about the YC, post #9, but it leads you to believe the fridge is the full depth of its enclosure, but it isn’t. Or at least ours wasn’t.

If you’re at BC, there should be a fridge pic here somewhere, but it’s not in post #8.

If I remember from our last stay there, it was more similar to a standard dorm mini-fridge.

OK, that would be logical places for those pictures! I'll add them when I get a chance, along with pictures of the current toiletries available.

It sounds like they are offering OFF/bug spray in the rooms again (still) according to a notice a guest received recently. Has that been the case for people with recent stays at the resort? Does that include the villas, too?

:thanks:

DH and I are leaving in two weeks for our first stay at YC (and our first visit to the boardwalk area ever!). We were originally booked at POFQ but I know I’d miss having a balcony way too much, and we couldn’t decide where to stay so we let our TA chose a resort for us We are looking forward to not having kids and being able to explore the boardwalk!

Two years ago we had this trip planned and canceled 5 days before we left because our son was very ill. Rescheduled last year and then my mom was diagnosed with cancer and her first chemo treatment was the day we were supposed to leave. So this is our third time’s a charm trip!

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list for June.

I wish you a most magical trip as it sounds like you could use it!

On our last stay at the BC, we had a standard view booked and had a room on the third floor overlooking a roof. The good news is our room was right near the entrance so even though when looking straight ahead all we saw was roof, when we looked to the right we saw the front entrance where cars can unload and ME picks up/drops off BUT in the distance behind BCV we could see Spaceship Earth - only about 1/4 of it, but at least we could see it.

That sounds like a really cool view! I love Spaceship Earth! Any chance you know the room number?

:goodvibes

One week from today for our first beach club stay! So excited!

:welcome: to the thread!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on page 1, Post 15

:cool1:

Anyone know the current posted SAB pool hours? TIA

:welcome:

Do you have an upcoming stay at the resort booked? When?

:thumbsup2

:thanks:

Does anyone know if the 10 pm is a definite closing time, or do the lifeguards sometimes keep Stormalong Bay open a little later if the weather is warm and the pool is busy?

Back from our Beach Club visit 5/20-23.

I was posting about adding adult ds which we did before we checked in. I didn't do the online check in. what I really wanted was a room close to the elevator. We booked garden view. close to elevator is not a check in option? Wish it was.

we walked our luggage over from the Swan. Our room was ready but they said it was far from the elevator. Dh - says can't you see dw is handicapped lol. I use the wheelchair as a walker. Well they gave us anniversary buttons and a great room on the 3rd floor. It was the corner room right by the sofa near the elevator. Had two queens and a daybed. The regular bed was actually better than the heavenly bed.

buses ware good.
housekeeping was fine. They called dh for a room check and ds was sick and we left the dnd sign on for him.

swam twice. Once they had gates up? Saw the t shirt painting and one kid playing jenga in the lobby.

ate cape May dinner, yachtsman for our anniversary dinner. I did not appreciate our servers comments. He bordered on annoying. Grabbed breakfast and a few snacks at the marketplace.

there are 9 laptop safes and dh got one for check out day. They gave him a key. His laptop belongs to the gov. So he has to follow rules.

Loved watching the male artist in the lobby. Very talented!

all in all it was a great stay but glad we had an ap discount. The deluxe prices are getting pretty steep.

Thank you so much for your helpful and detailed comments!

::yes::

Because of my room saga i was able to view a few rooms and made a mental note of them.

4656 day bed, Juliet balcony
4618 full balcony no day bed
4622 day bed, Juliet balcony, roman blinds
3618 day bed, Juliet balcony

We viewed 2 more but I've forgotten the numbers!! 3680 i think was 1 with day bed Juliet balcony.

Xx

This is great!!! Thank you so much for providing this information about the "Many rooms of Nicnic!"

:cool2:

Where can I find information on rooms with a view to possibly request? We are needing a room with a king bed as our number one priority. Then possibly a room with an excellent view would be awesome too.
Not sure if we want to spend the extra for Club Level unless someone can show it is really worth it. Help would be greatly appreciated.

:welcome: to thread.

When is your trip?

Others have responded with great advice about your room request.

:woohoo:

So last December, our DS & DDIL vacationed with us & we stayed at CBR, per her request. She hadn't been to WDW for over 10 years. We of course visited Y&B, checking out the Christmas decor. They had dinner at Ale & Compass & she loved YC. Of course, our DS has stayed there many times with us when he was young. Well, she just couldn't get Disney & YC out of her mind. Monday, Southwest dropped their fares from our city for September flights. I got a text from her Monday night asking about YC & BWI. (You now which 1 I recommended!). By 10 yesterday morning, they were booked for a 5 night stay at YC & will overlap our trip for 2 days! :cool1::cool1:

Took her only about 12 hours to get the idea, research, get vacation time approved from their jobs & book everything! We were texting all day yesterday as she was planning & linking everything. She was so excited she was just bouncing around. :jumping1: She cracked me right up! Told her she was a real member of our family now that she has the Disney & YC bug as bad as DH & I do! And I am beyond thrilled that we'll be together for some days. She's already thinking about bounce back reservations for 2019 dates too! :rotfl2:

I caught my husband singing yo ho yo ho a pirate's life for me this am... he's totally hooked although he won't always admit it ;)

The laptop safes are in the room behind the check in desk. The cm will escort you? Dh is on a trip again so I can't ask him. There used to be a locked area in the luggage room but they said it was being remodeled.

we also had a note in our room that there would be late night fireworks testing but we never heard it.

also dh could not get some of his work emails. He later found out his gov. Dept. Says the yc/bc does not meet their security standards? He didn't have a problem with this at the swan.

So this would be for before you get your room on check in or after checkout? Because we always use the safe in the room when we're there. We are going to be having bell services transfer our luggage from the YC to the BC and again from the BC to the CR, we had just planned to trust them with everything rather than leave anything in our vehicle, but that's interesting to read that those even exist. I keep learning of new things even after years of planning disney trips! I do think I vaguely knew there was a locked area in the luggage room - in fact I kind of assumed the whole area was pretty much only accessible to bell services but I guess there are a lot of them and you just never know.

I believe it was 3694. The other great thing about that room location was there was a nice sitting area right outside our room with couches and chairs. My husband and sons would often sit there while I got showered and ready in the room. It felt like an extension of our room. Again, the rooftop was an eyesore, but SE and the sitting area more than made up for it.

Hi everyone!
4 days until we check into POR and 10 days away from our first time at the Yacht Club! Super excited to fall in love with a new resort. Thank you to everyone for all of the wonderful tips and advice.

June 16-23 :)

We have a similar split - POR and then YC. We arrive in 12 days and it can’t get here soon enough. Enjoy your trip!

Hi all!

Adult daughter and I staying at the YC from 9/8 - 9/13. First time staying on property and very excited!!! I requested ground floor as close to the BC side as possible (we booked a garden/woods view). For those familiar with the layout, does that sound doable?
