Resort Thread Disney's PORT ORLEANS FRENCH QUARTER Resort

Thanks for the fan information. One less thing to pack....more room to buy new things! :)

I know they give small bottles of the H20 shampoo, conditioner, and body lotion at the deluxe resorts. Does anyone know if they give the bottles of body lotion as well as shampoo and conditioner at POFQ? I remember last time we stayed they had the little bottles w/ mouse ears but just can't remember if there was body lotion as well!

Shampoo and Conditioner but no lotion at the Moderates.

No lotion? :( Bummer. That's my favorite part about staying in any hotel. I have a "lotion drawer" at work. Although I tend to hoard the disney lotions for myself at home.

Any chance you could still request some? Like when you forget a razor? They might have some available...

No, my wife has tried. It's one of the "amenities" that separates the different levels of WDW resorts.

Value = Shampoo and conditioner combined in one bottle
Moderate = Shampoo and conditioner in separate bottles
Deluxe = Shampoo and conditioner in separate bottles and lotion

If I do not have access to a fax, is there another way to send in our requests? Or di I have to hoof it on down to Kinko's? I have a scanner, but no faxing programs.

Use one of the free online services, such as the one mentioned in the FAQ in the first post of this thread.

Hello, everyone, just joining this thread and seeing some familiar names on here!

Sorry if this has been asked a thousand times already, but 182 pages is a bit daunting to look through.

I've stayed at POFQ many times and know the resort pretty well - it's my favorite moderate. But I've only needed one room before.

I have a trip booked for April 2016 for 2 rooms, 4 adults (2 per room) and have been looking at the room layouts on both touring plans and the PortOrleans.org site, and it looks like there just are not that many connecting rooms for Standard View. While I'd love to have Garden View, my TA's agency exclusive deals only offer Standard.

I'm looking at building 4 for closeness to the bus stop and food court. Also, due to some mobility issues of one of the travelers, we really would prefer ground floor. I see that only the rooms facing the parking lot are Standard, and very few are designated as connecting, according the maps. While having connecting rooms isn't a "must have" it sure would be nice to be able to share space between us, including bathrooms, as one of the party seems to be a very long "shower taker."

Can anyone verify this for me? Thanks in advance!

In addition to the free fax services, Touring plans now offers to create and send a fax for you 5 days before your arrival date, based on your room preferences. Have heard from some that it works really well, but have no experience myself.

Not sure exactly what you are asking... yes there are only 74 connecting Standard View rooms at POFQ, and you're right that very few of the Standard View rooms in building 4 happen to connect. There are more in building 3 if that helps? I'd suggest putting in a request for connecting ground-floor rooms, as close to the main building and bus stop as possible, and then keep your fingers crossed - you might even get bumped up to Garden View, as it's not uncommon for Standard View to be oversold so they move some guests up to a higher category.

Thank you, Andre, that is exactly what I was asking!

Hi there.

I've been away from the boards for a while but starting to plan another trip. The last time I was active on the DIS, POFQ could only accommodate 4 persons in a room. Is this still the case? I suspect it is but there is part of me that is hoping POFQ has received a refurb with Murphy beds. Thanks in advance for your replies.

Nope, still 4. POR and CBR are the only Mods that have the Murphy Beds and can sleep 5.

Well to be factual CSR has some Junior Suites that can sleep 6 but my lord the $$$. :scared1:

Question regarding corner rooms. What would I request if I want a "corner room that doesn't face a stairwell"

I don't want this:

Just like you put it above, "corner room that doesn't face a stairwell" is perfect.

We Checked in yesterday and are enjoying the pool today. Here is a picture of construction. There is some beeping from the machines but the pool music makes it unnoticeable.
