View from standard view room in building 4 in May, loved it!

So, I did it!! I booked our trip for October!! I was gonna wait for later, but figured that POFQ is normally excluded from most discounts so I would get it now and change it to BB in 17 days when we are at the WL! We booked two standard view rooms and I am wondering where the best location is for being close to the food court/bus stop. Any advice? Thanks in advance!

View from our Standard view room in Building 4 last year, just beyond those vans is the bus stop and the food court is round to the front of building 4, very convenient, we liked it and will request on our return in four weeks.

37 more days! I cannot wait. This is our first stay at a moderate but have stayed deluxe (Poly and WL) and didn't think they were worth the extra money considering we are all day park people. We have always enjoyed our value stays though (Pop and All-Star Sports) and we spent a few hours at POFQ one afternoon on our last trip. I instantly fell in love!!

I have checked in online and we have a River view room reserved and I requested a ground floor room, if possible, as we'll have the 2 kids and the double stroller with us daily. It looks like every room and location is spectacular though :).

If we want to come back to the room for an afternoon nap, when is housekeeping done cleaning? I hate coming back too early and having to sit around somewhere waiting. We usually need new towels so we don't want to put out the do not disturb sign. I's rather time it to come back when they are done.

In our experience, after 4 stays, anywhere from 11AM-4PM.

We don't have our room serviced every day because it's just not necessary for the two of us, so we use the Do Not Disturb quite a lot. If Mousekeeping sees the card in the door, they have always put a bag onto the door handle with towels and toiletries.

Are there only two of you? There are usually four towels in a room anyway and if you are desperate you could run down and take one of the pool towels if it saved you waiting.

Thanks for the info. It is just the two of us, but I need two towels just for myself- one for my hair and one to dry off. I just imagine if it is hot and humid we may end up taking more than one shower a day. We don't need the room cleaned everyday- just need towels. If they just left them, that would be great! I'll give it a try if need be and see what happens.

you don't have to tryit and wonder. just call housekeeping and say you don't want service, but want a bag with supplies left on your door knob!

When DH and I stayed at ASMo (many years ago) we forgot to take the do-not-disturb sign off the door when we went out one morning. When we got back there was a bag of clean towels hanging on the doorknob waiting for us :) Very handy.

Quick question about DTD hours.

The night we arrive we're thinking of taking the boat to DTD, having a couple of shirts made for our race Sat then going to dinner while we wait for it. Trouble is we won't get to the resort til around 8pm. I'm pretty sure I read that the boats are still running till like 11:30 pm but will the stores be open that late?

The stores are all open until 11pm, but I don't know when the last orders for customised tee-shirts can be made.

My husband and I are 52 days out from our 4th stay at POFQ and this time we're doing the world kidless and are so excited for some adult time. The French quarter is one of our favorite resorts.

What room number was this if you don't mind.

Hello All,

We are very excited about staying at POFQ this June. We just booked yesterday. My DH really likes this resort. We have tried others, but this is the one that he insisted on. He is very laid back and hardly ever insists on anything. SO... we went with it. (I was jumping up and down on the inside. :cool1:) My oldest daughter said, "Mom, I would sleep on a bench as long as the bench was in Disney World."

We stayed here in 2012 and loved everything about it. The CMs were so nice, it was clean, quiet, great transportation, good food court, and perfect for a family of 4 with 2 teenagers. (now young adults)

Now I have to figure out this whole Magic Bands and Fastpass + thing.

I just wanted to share my excitement. :cheer2:
