Resort Thread Disney's PORT ORLEANS FRENCH QUARTER Resort

That's for Riverside though. In FQ, there are King beds that are on the river. Three of our five times in a King room we have been on the river.

I think with Moderates King is its own category. There can be Kings in all the categories (except the 5th sleeper) but you'd need to book King and then request one with a river view if that's what you want.

I'm going out on a limb here and predicting that building 2 will open up by the end of September. I've been trying to move the first 2 nights of our trip from Riverside and nothing was even showing - correcting myself here, unless you want to pay $408 PER NIGHT for a king room  Now I can see every single room category is available starting on Sat 28th (only rack rate though, no discounted rooms)

What travesty do they need to rectify? The wall-mounted showers over the tubs in the new rooms are the same type as before, with a single rotary control for flow/temperature, and a pull-up knob on the faucet to switch between bath and shower modes. I'd prefer to have two separate flow and temperature control dials, but it's not a major bother. Otherwise it works fine, just as it always has.

The fixtures in the walk-in shower rooms in some of the new rooms have both an overhead rainfall head (which is what I prefer) and a hand-held shower head if that's what you are looking for?

Just to be clear, how do you adjust the flow with the rotary control? I wasn't able to adjust it when we were there last year.
We would prefer the walk in shower but an adjustable flow control will work too

Just booked a bouncback for next May! Will be my third stay at POFQ but it has been almost 15 years. If everything goes to plan, my sister will join me for her first stay at POFQ. The new rooms look beautiful. I'm bouncing back from the Yacht Club, and the new rooms look very similar to the ones at the Yacht Club. I just wish they would figure out a way to have more hanging clothes space.

Last night, I switched from Pop to POFQ for our trip in August 2025. It's a favorite of ours and my boys will love having the slide at the pool. Little bummed to not have the skyliner but the small, compact size of FQ is a huge draw. We were at Pop last month and were in building 9. it was so far away from the buses/skyliner/food court. I treid to switch to AoA or CBR but neither had availability that would work for us.

Ok thanks! I was thinking it was a locked keycard/MB gate which can be tricky when trying to hold a drink 🤣.

No, just a handle at the top which can easily be used one-handed. The gates are there to stop kids being able to access the pool deck unaided, not as a security feature to prevent access by non-guests.

Now if only we could have our drink on the edge of the pool without Disney losing it like we are committing a felony :rotfl2:

You can take drinks to the poolside seating area (but not in glass containers). They don't allow you to be in the pool, or sitting on the edge, with drinks though.

Any update on the refurbishment? I was hoping for building 2 but wasn't sure if it was open yet.

With Scat Cat being down for refurbishment, does anyone know if the mosaic tile craft is still available on Wednesdays at POFQ?
