I've always wanted to stay here but we need a 5th sleeper, any rumors if they'll add those to any rooms at FQ? I know Riverside has them, but I'd rather stay at FQ if they were adding that extra bed to any rooms.

The wait for the new rooms is EXCRUCIATING!! Usually, someone has leaked info or pics about new room designs but this one is being kept super-secret. All we know is that the rooms have been gutted and they are currently working on both buildings 1 and 2. Sigh....

We’re there in 5 weeks. When I first heard about the refurb I thought we had a good chance at a new room however the closer it gets the less likely that seems. I don’t even know if I want one as I have no idea what they’ll look like .

I've been watching for a room to be available on one specific night at the end of September and nothing has been showing up , not even at rack rates. I've been obsessively checking multiple times a day to get the first 2 nights moved from riverside and today, POOF every single category is available for the entire week. However, nothing is showing up at a discount rate and I refuse to spend $368/ night for a garden view!!
This says to me that they are expecting to have new rooms ready for occupancy by mid/ end September.

Fairly recently, the whole of building 1 had been gutted, and building 2 the same now, but they had not yet refitted the rooms in #1. No idea why they would be progressing to gut 2 before being close to finishing 1.

A day or 2 after the request was sent, she received a call from Disney, said they got her request but that building & floor was gonna be under refurbishment at the time & asked if they could put in a different request for her. That call was just a little over a week ago. So they must be getting ready to move on to other buildings.

Wow! Disney hasn’t appeared to even look at my touring plans requests in ages. I get about as far from what I requested that it is comical. (Don’t care where I am roomed anyway so it wasn’t worth the effort and I actually quit doing them.) Nice that they look and even notify you.

Yes, my family member was shocked. They’re APs & go several times a year. They probably don’t get their request more than they do get it. They’ve never had a call regarding it before.

Yes, it's on Wednesdays at 1pm at POFQ. Or you could stroll over to Riverside where it's at 1pm on Sundays..

Can anyone tell me where the smoking areas are located? We do not smoke and would like to avoid a room nearby.

I know there is a covered area on the river by the pool away from most buildings where I have seen smokers, don't know of any other places

There is a spot in the MDE app that you can show all designated smoking areas on property. I zoomed in on FQ, looks like just the one spot previously mentioned.

was thinking about booking here next week and was wondering how the construction is around the resort? is it loud/highly visible? if im at the pool am i gonna hear work going on and see it across the way at building 2?

Hello--in the past when we've had a reservation at a Disney resort undergoing refurbishment or renovation we have always received a notification from Disney that there may be noise during the day because of this. Also, on the website for that resort there's always been a notice on that resort's availability page informing people of the refurbishment or renovation because there may be noise during the day. We have a reservation for November and have not received a notification. Has anyone with an earlier date to check in received a notification?
