Our stay at POFQ is Sept. 7 -12. Our travel agent let us know that Sassagoula Food Court will be closed during that time. She initially said grab and go sandwiches would be offered and we could take a bus to PO Riverside for additional food options. I have read conflicting reports on various websites. Does anyone know what food options will be available? Also, will the refillable mug station be accessible?

I spoke with someone from Disney today. (I sent an email regarding the closure of the food court earlier this week.) She told me that they will have a place to refill the rapid refill mugs and that the temporary location will have hot entrees, including hot breakfast items, lunch and dinner. She also stated that almost the full menu from the food court will be available to order. I feel much better about this after talking to her.

Glad to hear about the freestyle Coke machine. I prefer regular lemonade over the pomegranate flavor.

I don't like carbonated fizzy drinks, and lemonade is too bitter - leaving me with that meh 'fruit punch', which just seems to taste of pure cherry, as my only option. I love all the still options on Coke Freestyle machines (I usually mix a sugar-free orange & peach drink when I'm at Five Guys, which is nice and refreshing).

Shame we can't pin posts within a thread.

Oh duh, oh course!! I was thinking one that would 'pin' on the top of each page of the thread (not possible I know, I own a forum). But this works.

Even if they don't read it us thread members can then direct them to that post for the answers rather than trying to look back to find your current posts.

I liked the creepy masks and theming they had, but if they replace instead of just dumping, I'm cool with it. The theming at the food court and pool is part of the affinity I have for the resort! Minus the openness and theming, it looks like the temporary food court has everything the usual one does for the most part

I think the overall Mardi Gras theme will be staying, just the couple of large full-face masks which people found a bit creepy will be going.

We were booked at the FQ in late July. Made a last minute switch to CBR - price essentially remained the same. Just not in the mood to deal with a food court refurb. We'll likely head to the FQ on our next trip.

I definitely found those things creepy....hope they replace them with something bright and colorful...like the Mardi Gras Parade is.

I just read that Movies Under the Stars are being moved inside at some resorts, namely the GF and Poly. Any word on whether such a change will also impact POR or POFQ? From what I can remember, those movies were shown in the courtyard areas rather than on the river bank.

I just read that Movies Under the Stars are being moved inside at some resorts, namely the GF and Poly. Any word on whether such a change will also impact POR or POFQ? From what I can remember, those movies were shown in the courtyard areas rather than on the river bank.

When we went in April to the POFQ, the Movie under the Stars was shown on the lawn between buildings 5 and 6, with the movie screen set up running parallel to the river (with the river view rooms of building 5 in between the lawn and the river) . The audience watching the movie screen really aren't situated anywhere near water, but on the grassy area. You'd have to purposely walk past the movie screen and the river view rooms of building 5, to get anywhere near water.

There are no beaches, or direct 'zero-entry' access to the river, at Riverside or French Quarter so at the moment nothing has been altered following the tragic events at the GF last week.

Anyone know if this includes coffee too? Assuming so but wanted to make sure

Do you really think they would get away without providing coffee?

Woohoo! Booked for Spring Break! I'm excited about the changes coming in the refurbishment. I wasn't a fan of the creepy masks.

Today is a big day. I will be calling after work to book a trip for next May. I will be taking my grandson and my daughter to see the mouse. He will be 5 in January. He spent the first two weeks of his life in the NICU. I made him a promise then that when he turned 5 we were going. He does not remember, but I do. My daughter and I discussed which resort for months and changed our minds multiple times. But our final was French Quarter due to we loved it there when we were there in 2010. We know he will love the splash area and the water slide.

How lovely I'm sure he will be so excited! Took my grandson for his fourth birthday and going back with him next year when he will be eight. I hope you both enjoy the preparation and planning
