Any idea how close they are to opening building 3? We are coming down November 18 and was going to do a room request for buildings 1 or 2. Was wondering if 3 would be available by then.

I was coming here to ask the same thing. I arrive a few days before you and put in a request for 3. So fingers crossed!

The vast majority of rooms at the resort are Garden View. I would call and request Building 2 or 3. That way you would get a newly refurbished room. Scat Cat's cafe is opened from 7 am until 11 pm.

Any time would be OK. Just tell them you would like to add something to your room request.

Hello ~ for anyone there right now, how is the noise level since they are not completed with the renovations? We have a reservation in several weeks and based on the original schedule they were to be pretty much done by then. Thinking it might be better to move to another resort this time, and save POFQ for another time. TIA.

I just got back, I stayed in Building 2, they are currently working on 3 & 4. I heard more noise from the boat horns than the construction most of the time, LOL!

There is no number to request a refurbished room. You can ring the main Disney Reservations Center and get them to note the request on your booking, or you can do much the same via the online chat in My Disney Experience.

Same for us. We will be there 12/14-20 and I just got the email too and am quite sad about this. It was completely unexpected since it was just worked on this year

I don’t want to switch to PO because of size and nothing else is open in similar price range that is not a huge resort.

Same. We stayed at Riverside earlier in the year and really wanted to stay at FQ this time. They did a complete refurb of the pool earlier this year so I was blindsided by it. I might call to check on the hot tub in the upcoming days just to see but I bet it is closed

So I called and the lady was less than helpful. She said “it says the pool not the hot tub so it should be open”. Of course we know that phone people are often wrong. The good thing is it is closed 12/16-21 so we can use it the first or second day of our trip and in fact might do so the 15th before the Christmas party if the weather cooperates.

It’s a shame we can’t call customer service and get facts. I’m going to look at pricing at other places- we are only doing a party and resort relax time!

Oh shoot. This really could affect your stay. I was thinking about trying again but then figured it would be the same. She was not the typical friendly cast member I am used to talking to. She was nice enough but it was obvious she was reading from a flyer or heck it could have even been the blurb on the Disney POFQ page for all I know. I don’t know if she hung up on me or what because the phone went silent without me even thanking her or saying goodbye or anything. It was odd. I kept saying hello? Are you there? And nothing. So I just hung up. I didn’t get the survey like I usually get so not sure what happened to her. I will say I didn’t have to wait on hold so the number they gave went through faster than the main number usually does.

Does Jackson Square gift shop sell half-gallon milk containers?

I typically buy many of them in other resorts (POP, POR, CSR…) I plan to stay at POFQ for the first time soon. From video footage I have seen on YouTube, Jackson Square appears to have few refrigerators and I only saw individual small milk bottles.

Wow, they just refurbished both in the Spring, I wonder why they're closing again?

Must be something small- just closed around a week. I may switch to swan. I did call and they suggested I move to Coronado preferred.

How does pricing compare to Coronado? I do like that hotel but honestly prefer the tower there. We had a preferred room at Coronado and it was not close to bus stops or the main building. It was disappointing. We eventually found shorter paths but still a hike. Especially to the bus stop. I would prefer Riverside personally. We liked it there a lot.

It was very similar to our garden room- she claimed I’d be right by the bus food and pool. She said we would be next to tower. I don’t think I’m going to do it. One plus that have a sit down dining all day- which is helpful before we go to the party. Lunch ends at most places to soon.

Why not switch to Riverside Preferred Location? All four preferred buildings are near to a quiet pool, and also close to the main bus stop and the main building, and a short walk to Ol' Man Island where the main feature pool is located. And you can walk over to French Quarter for beignets.
