We are at POFQ 12/20-12/24. I received an email about a "special" upgrade, but when I looked at it, it was to upgrade to Boardwalk, Yacht Club, or Beach Club for the same price I could upgrade to those resorts for if I just went onto the website and booked them for my dates. There was no discount at all. Has anyone else gotten this? I wonder if POFQ is overbooked?

We are booked 12-19 through the 28. Wonder if we will get something similar. I am thinking they do not want to be overbooked if they are planning on closing more buildings

I wonder if some of the room rehab is running behind schedule and this is why.

Very likely. The original schedule had all 7 buildings due to be completed before Christmas, so if they are now likely to still be down a building or two by that point they'll need to do something about the overbookings.

Saw a random FB post that work is continuing into spring. Staying 12/14-20 and no offers for us but not surprised since we have never once received an offer for an upgrade in 23 trips including during Covid. We do not have that kind of luck lol. That being said, we book where we want to stay in our price range

I just looked at my dates, Feb 23-28 (already booked) and it shows no availability. Hopefully they have a room for me. For the people that were offered “upgrades” or changed to a different resort, how long before your trip did you get the email or notification

The room rehab work is currently meant to be completed by mid-February, so unless there are any further delays (which is of course still quite possible) it is meant to be finished just before your dates. However the period you quote is part of Presidents' Day week, so will be busier than the surrounding weeks anyway.

We’re staying at POFQ from 12/6 to 12/10 and were offered an “upgrade” to Animal Kingdom Lodge earlier this month, about two months before our trip. It wasn’t much of a deal—as others have said, it was really just the going rate for AKL—and we declined.

I suspect they are just trying it on at the moment, and the closer to the period where they may be potentially oversold the better the offered deals will become - a bit like when airlines oversell planes and then try to bribe people to take a different flight, progressively increasing the offer until enough people take it.

I had the same thing happen. I was booked for a few nights at POFQ during the week that Hurricane Milton came ashore in Florida. I ended up cancelling that trip. I received several offers for an upgrade and both were for AKL. The rate quoted for was for the fall discount that was offered at the time.

I rebooked for February 20 - 24, 2025 so hopefully the room rehab will be finished by then.

We didn't take the offer. It still shows in my MDE app, though. If they had discounted the rates, we might have been swayed to switch. As of now we are staying with POFQ. Maybe nobody will take the "upgrade" and some of us will luck out with deep discounts at deluxe or free upgrades lol (not holding my breath!). When I look at my dates on the website, though, many of the resorts are sold out.

We are booked the first week of March for Mardi Gras with the package discount that is a really good deal. We usually don't do packages, but the deal on this made mathematical sense. We really don't want to have to stay anywhere else.

If not completely finished, there will probably only be building 7 left closed. And you'll definitely get a new room, as all the old ones will have gone by then.

Hello ~ for anyone there right now, how is the noise level since they are not completed with the renovations? We have a reservation in several weeks and based on the original schedule they were to be pretty much done by then. Thinking it might be better to move to another resort this time, and save POFQ for another time. TIA.

They are doing whole buildings at a time, and as work is internal to rooms there is very little impact on other occupied buildings.

It’s possible, but you can always request a move if you’re assigned an old room.

Since this resort is small- is a garden view a good location? Would that be a certain building. Umber? That was the only option for our holiday party stay- we changed from riverside. Have these been refurbished yet? I’ve been looking a few weeks- room finally opened.
Also late December how late is the places where they make Beignets? We have a later flight in!

The vast majority of rooms at the resort are Garden View. I would call and request Building 2 or 3. That way you would get a newly refurbished room. Scat Cat's cafe is opened from 7 am until 11 pm.

Any idea how close they are to opening building 3? We are coming down November 18 and was going to do a room request for buildings 1 or 2. Was wondering if 3 would be available by then.
