With both water parks currently open, I wanted to share bus information per the Disney website:

Disney Water Parks
Before visiting a Disney water park, check the water park calendar and hours to make sure that it’s open. Water parks are subject to extended rehabilitation, seasonal, capacity and weather closures, or may close for other reasons.

On dates when Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park is open:

• From (Pop Cenrury), take the bus to the Disney Springs area and then transfer onto the bus for Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park.
• Bus service from Disney Springs to Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park begins approximately 30 minutes prior to the water park opening.
• Bus service from Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park to Disney Springs ends approximately 60 minutes after the water park closing.

On dates when Disney’s Blizzard Beach water park is open:

• Guests at Disney's Art of Animation Resort, Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort, and Disney's Pop Century Resort can enjoy convenient more direct bus transportation to and from Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park. When you arrive, please be sure to check the transportation signage at your Resort for the most up‑to‑date details, including pick‑up locations and operating hours.

So exciting! Just completed enrollment for next month with UA, easy peasy for step 1. Now to see how long the tags take to arrive. (Wonder why they're doing the mailed tags since their own faq says they aren't necessary?)

I use the new service for departure but upon arrival I prefer to pick up my luggage and bring it to the resort with me. There were too many times with MDE that it took 5+ hours for our luggage to arrive that I now like to bring it with us.

Just had a 2 night stay at Pop. It was really good except by the time we figured out how to get to our room from skyliner and main building it was time to leave lol. We had requested 70’s but honestly we just don’t care where we are. We have never been in building 7 and we were in room 7238 which was by the side parking lot in the furthest part of that building by the rubric cube staircase. It was further than the back far side of the 90’s building from the food court area at least since we usually cut thru the parking lot from there. We did enjoy the strolls along the lake to go to the skyliner. It was a very quiet room. Never heard so much as a toilet flush so maybe we were alone back there. Never saw another soul in the area. Only food court purchase was a slice of tie dye cheesecake for daughter which was oddly on little paper plates uncovered in fridge. Bell services put our bags in the room for us while we were at the park since room was not ready at our early morning arrival. (Don’t use bag service from airport because only had carryons). Store was different than last trip tho it has been awhile since we went to pop. They didn’t have the massive section of candy etc. they had a small section of donuts bagels peanut butter. Only thing I bought was distilled water. But I only bought a few pins on the trip as souvenirs anyway. Skyliner was quick and efficient. We waited until morning rush was over if there was one but we still got to the parks during early entry which turned out to be a great idea to avoid gate crowds and all. They did pack in 9 on all of our end of park close skyliner rides. One was way too tight because it was 9 plus a stroller. That was uncomfortable. We rode alone or with another couple on the morning rides. We had only once before ridden with so many people even during crowded times. Everyone on our rides was surprised at how tight they packed us in. Even as a crowd anxious person I was fine except the one with a stroller in front of me. It worked to speed things up because lines moved faster than they used to. No stops more than a few seconds. No rain thankfully to close it. Bus to animal kingdom was efficient. They had 2 pull up durning morning rush so we lucked into seats on second bus which no one had to stand on. First bus packed pretty full. Leaving AK we lucked into a bus pulling up within minutes of getting to stop. It was a very nice stay at Pop and no complaints other than they really wanted me to get in more steps going to that far off room lol.

Could you see Hourglass Lake from your room?

That would have made the walk a little more worth it.

I agree they shouldn't have packed your Gondola with 9 people AND a stroller.

But I will still take that over an end of day,packed,sweaty, SRO bus with someone's rear end in my face!lol

Possibly but there is no guarantee. Approx 1/12 of the rooms have King beds although many of the King rooms are accessible rooms so much will depend how many guests during your visit require an accessible room. You can request it but I’m not sure if there are any stats about how often guests that have requested a King room, are assigned a King room.

I’ve never requested one but was assigned one once in 40+ trips.

Just make sure to make King Bed your ONLY
request.

If you arrive and have not been assigned a KB go to the Front Desk and politely ask them to check again and mention you don't mind waiting if one will be available later in the day.

And as mentioned,if assigned a KB,there is a good chance it will be an accessible room.

I think you would have a good but not for sure chance.

Normally until 10:30 but can run later than that. If it does close, there’s an option to take a bus to DS and then a bus to POP.

Skyliner hours will be posted at each station from the time it opens so you’ll be able to know the hours early in the morning and can plan accordingly.

Can you rideshare? If so that could be your backup. If you don't have to stick to Disney transport you could rideshare from BWI to Pop. Rideshares are allowed to pick up anyone at Disney Resorts, it's just dropping off where you have to be a guest of that resort.

I can't remember if there are extra blankets in the room but if you need more you can call Guest Relations using the phone in the room and more will quickly be brought to you.

What time is your dining reservation at 'Ohana? What time does MK open for Early Theme Park Entry on that day?

Another option we've used to get to a resort for breakfast is we take the Skyliner to Hollywood Studios and then take a bus directly to the resort from there. We found that to be faster and easier than going to MK first when we had a breakfast reservation at the Contemporary. My daughter figured this out and it worked perfectly!

You can definitely call and have extra blankets brought to your room. I know there is an extra pillow in the dresser or closet area but I am not sure about the blanket. Usually they are in a sealed bag at other resorts but I can't remember if they are at Pop.
