1 more day till we are home at Pop! Hope we get a room location we are wanting from our faxed room requests. I had it noted on our reservation, did online check-in, and did the fax with more specifics than the others can do. We will see! haha!
I'm excited to find out what rooms they renovate first! We'll be doing 2 one-night stays on either side of our cruise in February and would enjoy trying out one of the new rooms if we can. Time will tell!
Normally the week after Halloween the Christmas decorations go up. It's almost overnight that one comes down and the other goes up. An exciting week to be there!

I know absolutely nothing, but I keep mulling this over. Logically, I would think they would start at one "end" or the other. Remind me when the Computer Pool is supposed to reopen - if it reopens before the room renovations start, I wouldn't think they would then immediately close any of the surrounding buildings.
Wiser minds are welcome to tell me why this doesn't make sense, but I am putting my uneducated guess on them starting with Bldg 1 in the 50s and just going sequentially.
Do we know if they are closing an entire building at once, or just a wing/section of a building at a time?

I think your idea of them starting in the 50's section makes a lot of sense! I'm not sure how many rooms they will close at the same time but I would be surprised if it would be too many. Each floor of each wing has 22 rooms. I can see them possibly closing 1 side of 1 wing so 44 rooms at a time but that's purely a guess on my part. Time will tell.
I'm 99% sure you can buy 1/2 gallons of whole milk at Pop Century. I know we've bought them at AoA as recently as June of this year (and I have pictures of one in my fridge from our trip last year). I would assume that Pop Century carries the same thing.

I would guess some rooms would be done by then but not too many would be my guess.
You know, thinking about this some more, I've got a different theory about in what order they might close buildings. Specifically, if I were Disney, I would close the 60s buildings (one at a time) in the January-March period, when the main pool presumably gets the least use. I wouldn't want to spend an afternoon at the pool with construction/work going on behind me. Just a random thought. Conversely, maybe they would do the 70s over the summer, since it's the only section without a pool. ???
