Resort Disney's POLYNESIAN VILLAGE RESORT

This has probably been mentioned somewhere above, but for anyone driving and staying at the Tower, there have been some road changes. Don't take the usual 'Polynesian Resort' exit off the highway. Instead, stay in the left lane and follow the Grand Floridian signage. This will put you directly onto Floridian Way and bypass the loop around the MK parking lot, and the old (and the new) Poly entrance. The Tower has a separate entrance off of Floridian Way. If you go the other way (following the Polynesian signs) you'll still get to the Tower, it'll just take longer.

Also, coming in via the Tower entrance, the tapstyle is very close to Floridian Way, and NOT up by the gate. The tapstyle and the gate are about 20 yds apart. I had to back up the first time 'cause I missed seeing the tapstyle.

Yup.

You can use your refillable mug at any resort, including island tower.

Hi! Here is a weird question...

I have an allergy to pineapples and avocado. If we were to stay here, how limited would my eating choices be? Im assuming anything with teriyaki sauce would have pineapples in it? Seems to be the way most places make it now.

Things that come with grilled pineapple or pineapple salsa, can I just ask them to leave it off?

Bus Depot Getting Finishing Touches at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

The bus loop at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort has been almost ready since early May. Now the finishing touches, including benches and touch-up painting, indicate that it should be in operation soon.



On our May 28 visit to the resort, we spotted crews at work painting the new bus depot at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. The beams appear to match the roof in a rich, chocolate brown.


We also noticed that several benches were installed inside the depot and covered to protect them from the ongoing painting work. The nearby garbage can was also covered in plastic. From the looks of the painting, it appears the crews were almost done with the majority of their finishing touches.


The benches inside the bus depot appear to match the ones that dot the walking path to the bus depot, underneath the Monorail track.

The new depot sits beneath the Walt Disney World Monorail beam, near the resort roadway and parking lot. The bus stop is part of broader entrance and transportation-area work at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.

I was there this weekend. I really want to love the Poly but every time I'm there the main lobby just feels too hectic.

Kona Cafe and the bar were great. But it is kind of sensory overload.

I agree the main lobby is so hectic. The tower is much quieter. For us it’s the same at Bay Lake. The Contempo lobby is so hectic but the Bay Lake lobby is very quiet and calm.

Work continues around the Outrigger Assembly House part of the main building to replace the older materials. The project is targeted to be completed by the beginning of July but as we saw with the bus stop, the completion date was not hit.

Does anyone know if the Hawaii building has had the updates to the stairs ( or roof, balconies) and things that are happening currently to other long houses?
