ducks? i looked at a couple of maps of the Poly, things of course can look much closer/further away than they really are - what is the real distance? When we did the Poly CL tour the Volcano pool was right there. Is the oasis pool on the opposite side of the CL building?
Oasis is between Samoa and Tokelau, with Hawaii in front and Rarotonga in back of it. It's still pretty central.

Yes, ducks...when we took a tour in January there were no less than 6 ducks swimming in the Oasis pool. Seems to be a common occurrence...

I was hoping maybe they were plastic or decorative ducks. :lmao:

Anyone know why there may have been major music blasting at the resort tonight? Not of the soothing Polynesian variety, either. We were all set to watch Wishes, went out onto the deck, only to hear someone absolutely blaring a local radio station, coming from somewhere in the beach or from one of the buildings between Tokelau and the volcano pool. (We're in Moorea and it definitely wasn't close.) Totally out of character for the Poly, so I called down to the front desk (real front desk), and they were surprised as well. Connected me to security (which sounded a little overboard, honestly), who said they would send someone out to try to find the source. Not sure if they ever did, but in all of the times we've been here, the Poly seems to work pretty hard to keep the spirit and feel of the resort intact.

Thanks to wireless speakers that can output louder volumes it wouldn't surprise me if a guest was playing their personal device.

Like the above mentioned the new security measures going on how does this impact the transportation at the poly? Say taking the Monorail or fairy to MK?
Sorry if this was asked already I did look on the first page! :) or can you point to where the information for this is?

There is a whole thread on Theme Parks board discussing the new security with pictures at different entry points. If taking the monorail from Poly you would go through security at the Poly monorail station and then go directly into MK / similar thing at the boat docks as I understand it. I like the monorail better as once you come down the exit ramp at the station you can now take that immediate left into the park entrance (you don't have to walk down to the middle area where the previous bag checks were!)

Are Tambu Lounge and Kona Island capable of takeout? I was hoping to grab some sushi at Kona Island, Bread Pudding and a Lapu Lapu at Tambu and Pork Fried Rice at Captain Cooks and taking it back to the Cabana for lunch.

I'm not sure about Tambu - but we get Kona Island every trip to enjoy by the pool, in our room, or in the lounge :-) So good!

Just booked our cabanas...for $53 a day and even if we get out of the sun just a little bit, every little bit will help as our irish skins will already probably be crispy from the park days.

I have our first Poly stay booked for November. I've looked at the map, but can't decide on anything to request room-wise. We have a standard room. I just put 1st or 3rd floor as my request for now, since I'd prefer a patio/balcony. The resort isn't that large that being on one side or the other would be that big of an issues as far as I can tell.
Any suggestions are appreciated.

I have read the first 5 pages of this thread and everything from December 2016. My understanding is that if you have an early morning PPO ADR at MK, the resort monorail may not be available early depending on its schedule. So if that is the case when I need to get to the MK for a breakfast ADR at 8:10, we would be better off taking the boat launch or a taxi to the CR and walking to the MK. Am I understanding this correctly??? Please help...... thanks!!

Question on the Studio Vila daybed - can a small (5.2 ish) 22 year old sleep on the murphy/daybed in the vila comfortably? Would anyone know where I could find the dimensions by any chance ??

Trying to decide if we need to bring the aero bed or not. FYI we aren't over the room occupancy just a have combination of guests who would rather not share the couch.

You can get Tambu drinks to go. And obviously a Lapu Lapu is already in a to go container. :-)

I just had a Backstratcher to go this afternoon. Yum....

If a balcony or patio are important to you, I would not any other requests. There really isn't a bad location at the resort.
