Hi All!
We are a family of five considering a stay at the Poly in April 2016. I was just wondering if anyone knew what the construction *might* be like at that time? Also, we are contemplating doing "club level" for the first time. Would anyone help me with some pros and cons on that. Last year we stayed off property in a rental home for the first time. Having the space was fabulous, but honestly, it didn't feel like a Disney vacation to me. (I know, I've been sucked in!:upsidedow)

Thanks so much for your help!

Construction on the east pool may or may not be complete in April 2016. That said, we just stayed CL GV for the first time three weeks ago and had a wonderful vacation despite the construction. It was our first time staying CL and I will honestly say that it would hard NOT to stay CL again in the future. It really added to our vacation despite the construction going on in the east pool.

We are in somewhat of the same boat. We've never stayed at the Poly or at CL, but are going late April and decided to do Poly CL. I'm a big pro/con person, so I'll share our reasons for doing CL. First, we are a family of four (me, DH, DS7 and DD3) plus my parents (67) are joining us. First, my parents really wanted a monorail resort this year. In the past we've stayed at CBR, which was nice, but not 'convenient' for my parents. So that narrowed it down to the Poly for us. Second, we are NOT park commandos. We spend the morning at the parks and afternoons at the resorts. Therefore, we know we will spend a lot of resort time and will enjoy the space of the CL lounge and snacks. Third, we are not big eaters (my kids are down right birds). We've gone during free dining in the past and it was just too much food for our family. So I'm pretty sure CL breakfast and evening apps will cover two meals (and if not, we'll just get a CS meal). Fourth, the convenience!! I love the idea of access to drinks/snacks during the day. Our kids drink lots of water/milk/juice. My parents are coke drinkers. It was a pain last trip to go to the food court constantly for milk, etc. Plus - coffee and adult drink. Last trip my mother and I loved having a glass of wine in the evenings. Having the lounge in the same building will be so nice - just a walk down the hall to get what we need. This is probably the biggest draw especially, with young kids and grandparents. We also arrive very early (10am) and leave very late (8pm) on our travel days. Last trip this was tough with the young kids on departure day. We had to be out of the room by 11, but our flight wasn't until 8pm! Having access to the lounge will be wonderful on those days. DD and Papa need naps as well, so someone will always be coming back to the resort (again, not park commandos). And the kicker for us was we got a pin code, so the cost of CL was the same as a standard room at the Poly. I don't know if we'll really use the planning services. This isn't our first disney trip and we are using a TA this year as well. But who knows, maybe once there we will use their services. Cost was/is a con. We would not have done CL without the pin code, it just wouldn't be in the budget. Hope that helps some!! I've read a bunch of CL posts and Poly posts about CL and think that it is the best option for our family. That being said, if we couldn't do CL I know we'd still have a great time!!

From your post - sounds like Poly CL would be perfect for you and your family.

On the refurb page of wdwinfo it says that the path between the TTC and the poly is closed off, though I haven't seen this stated anywhere else. Is it open?

We LOVE CL at Poly - we have done it 3 times and wish we could do it for our upcoming holiday trip but it was out of our budget this time. I'm not sure that construction will be done by April but I can speak to the pros of the CL experience there. The lounge is super convenient - always open so it is a great place to hang out early in the morning before others wake up (which is where I can always be found) - it is really close to the main pool so really easy to grab drinks or snacks to bring down to the pool. We've always enjoyed the food offerings and the CM's there have always been nice and helpful. The view of Wishes from the lounge is wonderful and has created such special memories for us - DD in her pj's snuggled up on the couch watching (and sometimes falling asleep) while the music is piped in to the lounge. We have been lucky enough for an upgrade to LV this last trip there so we watched the Electrical Water Pageant from our patio (love 1st floor for the extra outdoor space). The rooms are quite spacious in comparison to most of the other resorts and you are always going to have the extra bed that pulls down from the couch. Like I said, we LOVE Poly and the CL there! :-)

Hi everyone!

We are staying offsite this december with the kids, and have an ADR at poly for breakfast 8.50am. It is our "free" day and would like to know what activities are open for off site guests? We we thinking of checkin out the resort after breakfast, and prob have lunch at Capt Cooks's before we head back to our hotel for the kids to nap.

In the evening we are planned to hang out at DS, visit Santa, DJ dance party and dinner of course etc...

Just need a morning activity at poly after breakfast. Ideas please?

Thanks in advance!

Keep in mind that with an ADR, you only park free for 3 hours, so you may need to pay for valet parking. They're strict in December.

I just wanted to add that I 1000% agree with the above and you've pretty much captured the reasons why we've been back to Poly CL 4 times over the last few years. For us the "convenience" is very much worth the cost, although I get that is a highly subjective opinion. Your rationale sounds great to me, I hope you have a wonderful trip.

Heading to Poly tomorrow! It's supposed to be hot and super humid! It's interesting because we chose to go this time of year so it would be cooler. Not a fan of the heat. But....the rest of our stay looks pleasant, with lower temps. So Excited! First time at Poly! I pulled out my list and checked it not twice, but four times! I'm ready! See all those of you going for Thanksgiving. Happy Holidays!

Yea! Hope you have a wonderful trip! I'd rather be hot and sweating at Disney than stuck where I am in a blizzard with 16 inches of snow! Can't wait to hear how you liked the Poly! Aloha!

We are making our first trip to WDW in ten days, staying club level at the Poly.

We booked a garden view room and I was wondering, are all garden view rooms in the same building as the CL? I am hoping we will be able to hit the lounge for wine and snacks daily without a very long walk.

They are all in the Hawaii building (as is the lounge) and even if you get the farthest room it's not a long walk at all. I hope you have a great trip! :)

Thanks!

I am really getting excited. I was pretty uptight about the arrangements but now I am starting to relax knowing, for example, that it will be easy to grab something for breakfast within the building as well as evening wine!

Does the Poly lounge have an outdoor area?

We were at the World last week. A split stay at BWI and BC cl.
NOTE:this was the busiest trip i have ever been on. Last weekend food and wine plus osborne lights last year and MVMCP. It was hard to get transportation or reservations.

On our MVMCP dd wanted to eat before the party. We took the bus to MK then could either take boat or mono to Poly. Kona was actually not accepting any more reservations!:scared1:

OH NO! what are we girls to do?????:confused3

They offered us a take out menu and said we could order at the sushi bar. I look and my fav sticky chicken wings and Kona salad were on there! YES!!!!::yes::

When we placed our order and was told we could eat there or take it anywhere. They had place settings on the wall with stools or you could sit on the bar around the sushi place.

I ran over to tambu and got a glass of wine and our food was ready right after. We enjoyed sitting in the lobby and soaking in "our Poly".:drinking1

Then on going home day Sunday, DH and i tried to get lunch at Kona and again, no spots for us! We were able to get the to go items again and we took them outside in the CC's eating area. We chose a nice quiet spot along the marina.

I really enjoyed that we got to spend some time at Poly and this back up plan worked great!

Just wanted you to know this option was available. It was a limited menu but sushi, sticky wings and pot stickers were on there plus others.

Oh this is really good to remember. Love those sticky wings so that would work for me. Our next stay will most likely include a few nights at Shades of Green, so good to know I could maybe walk over to the Poly and order some lunch and/or dinner and take it back to our room there!
