Leaving for our first Poly stay one month from today:thumbsup2

Dumb question - is Trader Sam's worth a visit if you're not a drinker?

If all you need is water and you are planning to rent a stroller through an outside company, many of the stroller company's have an option to add on a case of water with your stroller delivery. I am getting a case of water delivered with my stroller for $9.00 a case.

This is a very convenient way to get water :thumbsup2. I don't know the name of the company they used, but my brother and SIL just returned from their first trip and they bought water from the stroller rental company. My brother said they're so glad they did it because even though it was a little more expensive than buying it elsewhere, it was worth it.

I am now getting to the point where I start stressing that I might be forgetting to do or bring something
Resort, tickets, plane, car rental, ADRs, FP's are set. Our Universal part of the trip is set (2 days at Cabana Bay)
I worry most about forgetting to bring things like Magicbands, or some medication or something

Also need to stop the mail, stop by the police station to see if they can check on the house, bring the dog to her boarding, get the kids packed up, etc.

Need to switch to decaf for a few maybe...

I know the feeling! I always have a folder with all of my confirmations for the resort, rental car, etc and I am constantly checking (and re-checking) to make sure everything is in there :rolleyes1.

We started the beginning of our journey on property last night! Once we checked in and got our APs and TiW activated we headed over to check out the Poly - so gorgeous! We swung my Trader Sam's at just after 8pm and there was a short wait. We picked up our buzzer and headed around to the pineapple lanai. No sooner had we placed our order than our buzzer went off. We decided to hang out on the lanai rather than head in so I brought the buzzer back to the desk. There was only one group left on the list. So if everyone's over 21 and wants to head to Trader Sam's I highly recommend checking it out around 8-8:30 super short waits even on a Friday night. PS the Spiky Pineapple is amazing!

Sounds like your trip is off to a great start :wizard:. We are heading back to the Poly next summer and can't wait.

Just so exciting to be that close! I want to feel that stress soon! It's like a happy stress!

I agree.....it's a different kind of stress that's more of a happy feeling rather than a worry feeling ;).

I'm getting like this now. We are 18 days away.

I have a detailed packing list but I feel like I'll forget to print our boarding passes. Or forget our letter to get onto MDE. Or forget one of the kids birth certificates and they won't let me board the plane.

I'm just freaking at this point. I need to take a chill pill.

Everything will be fine and you will be relaxing at Disney before you know it :cloud9:.

I do a detailed packing list as well, but I also panic over forgetting something. The list gets checked and re-checked, even after everything is marked off as done...lol.

Nine days and counting!!!! :yay: Now it the last minute stuff. My husband just informed me that he needs all brand new socks for the trip because you CAN'T go to disney with old socks!! Really?

:banana::banana:

My DH is the same way.......always says he needs new socks for vacation!

We have never traveled with birth certs for any of my my children and have never been asked.

We started flying when our boys were 6 & 8 and have never been asked for birth certificates, either.

I've only been to the one at DLH, but it is a fun experience. None of us ordered alcoholic drinks. If you have kids, they can order drinks that come with plastic tiki souvenir sippers for about $10. Mine love their cups and continue to use them at home.

If you like the Tiki Room and that kind of entertainment then I think so - if you sit inside. Even if YOU don't order the drinks others will so you will get to see the effects that happen.

It really does happen! Last year, we spent 2 hours, going through construction, trying to find the pharmacy to which my pharmacy had sent my medication. They had mistakenly left it out of the bag the night before wheni picked up my scripts. It was a necessary medication and I discovered it enroute to Disney! Thank God I found it though before we left Canada!

Two years ago my wife forgot something she needs for her insulin pump. Disney was very helpful but her supply company was able to ship the missing item to our resort quickly

We were told that putting more umbrellas tends to have guests hang out @ pool longer. Since it's not large enough (deck space) for all guests, they may not want us all there, all day. ???????

OMG! Something just hit me! I've actually gotten a little fluttery! I'm doing our packing tomorrow. Yup! The whole kit and kaboodle! Gonna turn my bedroom into the DISNEY ZONE! :rotfl:::yes:: I've told DS15, DS17 and DD12 they'll be at my beck and call, gathering the items I give them to find and bring to the zone. I intend on doing it all between breakfast and dinner time, as I also have to decorate my parents' anniversary cake and the house for their 50th wedding anniversary. They'll be flying in the following morning (haven't seen them in a year) and I want it all ready...and gold! I know this off-topic. But I just wanted to share my intense happiness as I plan not only our much-awaited vacation to Disney, but a celebration for the people I love so dearly. We'll be leaving for our road trip only 36 hours after they arrive...so it's a little bittersweet. But I love them for offering to house sit, that is, pet sit. :grouphug::rainbow::cake:

That makes total sense to me!

You need a letter to get on to MDE????!!! What letter?

You need a letter to get on to MDE????!!! What letter?
It states on the letter we received
"Please keep this confirmation letter with you during your travel as it contains helpful information regarding your reservation and is required to check in for Disney's Magical Express at the airport."

I don't recall using the letter the last time we used DME but maybe we did...

In the past we have needed the letter, but last time they scanned our magic bands instead.

8 more days!!

Hey guys,

with the construction on the quiet pool, is there a request i can make that will help me avoid being placed facing that construction? its my sister in laws first time at the parks and I would hate for her experience to be spoiled by the view.

If that's truly your only request, I would just make it "not facing quiet pool construction" I think the odds are very low that the only rooms available at all would be facing that, so I think your chances of getting just that one request would be very good.

How exciting and how sweet of you to decorate for your parents anniversary! Congratulations to them on 50 years! Good luck packing and getting ready for the arrival of your parents :goodvibes.

8 more days!!

:yay: :yay:

Going in two weeks. Have a couple of questions about Capt. Cooks. Whats the latest time at night you can buy snacks? And if we buy the refillable mugs can we fill them up 24hours a day. Or do the doors lock and we are out of luck.

I have no questions, just excitement! Checking in tomorrow for 3 nights at the Poly in a waterview studio, before moving to the BWV for the remainder. It's the first time my dd 19 and I have done a girls only trip and our first stay at the Poly. Super excited!

You need a letter to get on to MDE????!!! What letter?
It has been s couple years since I used ME, but last time I did, there was a page in a booklet they mail to you that they scan at the airport when you go to check in for ME.

i'm glad to see i'm not the only one who gets so overhwelmed with the to-do list to prep for vacation! getting info together for the dog sitters, remembering to pay all my bills before we go (we are staying for 5 days at anna maria island before disney so the total trip length is very long), i am pretty sure at least two of our prescriptions will need to be refilled for the trip but that the insurance company will say it is too soon to fill them, etc. plus the first leg of our trip is just myself and the kids, dh is joining us when we get to disney, so i am worried about the rental car, navigating, etc. and of course, the packing. it was actually much easier when my kids were too young to pack themselves. now they want to pack but i have to "edit" which rarely ends well!
