Basically, the movies for June that were listed are

Thusday Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day

Join us for a special Movie Under the Stars on Friday, June 26 for the feature premiere of Disney Channel’s “Teen Beach Movie 2”

I feel your pain...Canadians...the exchange rate is the worst! There should be a special exchange rate between Canada and Florida....we just can't stay away!
Enjoy your trips everyone! We are checking in next weekend for our first stay at the poly, which reminds me I have a bizzillion loads of laundry to do...yikes

:yay::yay::yay::yay:

Our low CAD is making our trip much more expensive too :( so cutting back on TS to half, will be there 2 weeks, so only doing TS the second week when my friend(s) arrive. I'm good with this because I like many CS, like Cooks, Gaspys, the waffle sandwiches at MK, and Hot Italian sub at Pinnochio Village Haus, Columbia Harbour House, etc.
Prob not much suvie shopping either.
Got spoiled having the CAD at par for awhile!

I know exactly the feeling! Our Canadian dollar is making this trip just a wee bit expensive, right??? I actually lost my mind there a few weeks ago and considered a moderate! ...Recovered quickly :joker:

I'm glad I booked our flight at least before $ plummeted! But yes, making concessions on other things, not resort!!!

Going to stay at Poly in November. First time there. I'm very excited about having access to the monorail because MK and Epcot are the parks I spend the most time enjoying. I am dying to try the hot tub! I've been reading a thread on pool hopping. There are many people talking about pool crashers, especially at Poly. Anyone have this experience? And....is swimming in November too cold?

Can you bring drinks/food from Trader Sam's into the pool area? I know they have the patio, but can you take them "to go"?

I wanted to say hello to all of the folks on here! My family and I are devout Beach Club fans and have been staying at the BC each August for the last 10 years. This year, because the flights were much cheaper the day before our Bounceback offer kicked in we decided to book a single night a day earlier, without passes or the dining plan. I have always wanted to try the Poly and I thought it was a perfect opportunity to give it a shot for just one night, so I booked a Club Level room for our first night (8/19) and got a great rate thanks to the travel agency that shall remain nameless on the DIS. Figure if we are going to do it we might as well go Club Level and enjoy as much as we can. Also, since we won't have the dining plan it will help us cut costs for some food and drinks.

As this is our first time there does anyone have any advice or suggestions around the room (request) things to do, things to avoid etc? Any suggestions are totally welcome! Who knows, maybe my family falls in love with the Poly and we see if we can switch our entire reservation over :)

Thanks in advance for any advice!!!

Jay

Check out Tikiman's FB page for new info on a test Poolside service (drinks, sandwiches, etc.) at the Polynesian :cutie:

I saw this on his page as well and am happy to hear that the Poly is testing it. We have used the poolside service several times over at the Beach Club and if this is still happening at the Poly when we go in August, I know we'll definitely take advantage.

We have enjoyed the poolside service at BC and GF over the years. I admit I was sort of surprised that this was a "testing" phase. Seems like something they would have at all the Deluxes, if only seasonally.

We just returned from an amazing wonderful stay at the Poly! We were there from 6/8-6/15. We stayed in the Hawaii building GV. We were lucky enough to to get one of the few GV rooms that face the lagoon. We had an amazing view of Cinderella castle! We could watch Wishes from our room every nite. We were on the 2nd floor but did not miss having a balcony at all.
The CL staff were so friendly and helpful always. We dined at Kona Cafe a few times for lunch and dinner and had amazing service and food. Higgins the manager was so friendly and welcoming.
We almost switched to GF due to worries about construction. I am so glad we didn't. We had absolutely no issues with construction at all. It was very minimal and did not hinder our vacation at all!
We will be back again! Thank you Poly for a wonderful stay!

Does anyone know if the poolside cabanas are going open up? We are down on August 19th for the one night and I was hoping to book a cabana for that day. According to WDW Recreation they are not taking reservations at this time.

Thanks!
Jay

I can't say for sure, but after keeping up with the many, many threads as the Poly has been refurbished, it doesn't seem likely.

Hey do some people actually request the Hawaii building even though they did not pay for a CL room?

Do you recall your room number?

All I know is Tikiman's info says:
"Cabanas (as of Summer 2015 these are not available)"

They might request it, but they are wasting their use of a choice :p

Last I heard they were maintaining a waiting list, but I've heard no date as to when they may begin offering them.
