We've booked a short trip staying at the Newport Bay Club at the beginning of July. I can't find any information about the outdoor pools, are they heated? Do they even need to be heated at that time of year?

They are linked to the indoor pool so they are heated through that but obviously they are outside, July can be hot. The outdoor pools aren't always open though from my experience

Thanks. I'm surprised they might not open the outdoor part of pools, especially in July. I'll just assume it'll be inside only then, if it's open it'll just be a bonus.

We were in the seqouia one year in the 3rd week of May and outdoor pool was open .It was 27c that week. Outdoor pool was OK (from the sun i guess)but indoor part was freezing. I think they open it depending on the weather .

It looks like I shouldn't hold out much hope of getting any pool time, I don't fancy getting in a cold pool. I'm assuming not many people really use the pools and spend most of their time in the parks? I've only been in the colder month, so getting in a pool wouldn't have crossed my mind.

Pools are always busy, they heat them in the colder months but in the warmer months they can be cold. Still would get in you warm up lol!

We use the pool every day. There is Noway id be in parks from 8am until 11pm every day. The pool is a must for us!!

I had this image of me chilling on a sunbed with a cocktail, resting my aching feet, around an empty pool while most people were in the park. I guess that image is wrong then! lol

Only in this bit 'while most people were in the park' :rotfl2:

We had a real heatwave on our last visit in 2012, I think it was about 38 or 39 degrees so we did the parks in the mornings, relaxed round the pool in the afternoon for a few hours then back into the parks in the evening. Lots of other guests had the same idea and the pool area was pretty busy but we still managed to get sunbeds. It made for a lovely holiday so I'll hope for similar weather for you, maybe just not quite so hot!

That sounds ideal, apart from the heatwave, as long as I can get a sunbed I'll be happy. I don't think I mind crowded, but I live in Malta so I'm hoping for cooler weather though.
