Disney's new PS Policy

I predict that this is going to be the hot topic for days to come. The Disney Vacation Club members are really hot about this one. I suppose that I would be too if I were one to make PS's. Shields up everyone.

I'm holding out hope that maybe it is for all resort guests-probably wishful thinking but I will think positive thoughts until told otherwise. :D

This is definitely not a good week for me and Disney, LOL! ;)
First no AP rates, then BTMRR rehab is official, then this, then I find out my favorite meal in WDW which Ive been craving since last August is now changed. UGH! Im trying to focus on the good stuff but its getting tough the past couple days. :p

Camcolt, What's your favorite meal that is now changed?
I'm still hoping for those AP rates too!

According to a review on the Restaurants Board, the Beef Terryaki at the Kona Cafe now comes with mashed potatoes and vegetables. It used to come with sticky rice(even my picky, wont eat anything, 3 yo liked that), and fried onions(like very thin onion rings). I loved both those! Even before that it came with spinach too, but that got switched to beans somewhere between last July and August. While disappointed in that, I could live with it, but the rice and onions are what made the meal awesome!

Sorry for the highjack! Back to you regularly scheduled thread. ;)

I'm not giving up hope yet of a good policy. Scott said on his site that it looks like this policy *may* be for all on-site guests, not just WDTC people. I think that would be a much better policy--it would be fair to DVC members and AP holders, two of Disney's most loyal fan bases. Then all off-site guests could still make PS's as well, just after the on-site guests have made theirs. Plus, I noticed that Scott also said that he thinks they will only release half the available slots at 180 days, so there would still be slots left at 90 days.

IMHO, Disney would do better to offer better packages than to try to bully people into purchasing things they won't use. DOn't they realize that if I have days left on my hopper, I will be making another trip. We always stay on-site & have a few character meals. Now if I stay a week & have 3 character meals the rest will be counter service & food courts. If I have days left I will be back for a minimum of another 5 days (it's 1000 miles each way.) & will need a room & buy some more character meals. IF we buy a package such as Fairytale for a weeklong stay & no admissions left, it will be a couple of years before I can convince DH to return. Disney is actually keeping us away. The year we had APs we stayed purchased over 30 nights ressies on-site. I can't tell you how many charater meals we at but it was more than a dozen. I wrote to Disney about this when we scheduled our Fairytale package and asked if we could substitute APs for the 8 day hoppers. It didn't work out. They apparently only wanted us for 7 nights not 30.

Oh I hope that is the case. That would be so much better than originally thought.
