Disney's Military Salute Tickets for '10-'11 Now Available

I called the other day to find out more information for my sister about these tickets (she is overseas right now.)
While I was on the phone I also asked about MVMCP tickets and yes they had discounted tickets for certian nights (37 bucks) but you have to buy them at the park or resort the day of and only certian nights were covered ... The night we are wanting to go (Nov. 18th) is covered but I am worried about it selling out and then we will not be able to get tickets. Does anyone know if I buy the tickets now could be get a refund or even a credit for the difference between a ticket I bought as a passholder and the military discount my sister would then get the day of the party?

Last year they allowed some one on here to get a refund of the difference, but then I remembered someone else NOT being able to get the difference refunded. I would just wait and buy it when you get there. We did and it was well worth it, we did not even worry about it being sold out as the Military tickets were separate from the other MVMCP that were being sold:woohoo:

Good advice from personal experience:thumbsup2

If you go to the locked sticky Everything About WDW Tickets in the TPA&S Forum, especially Post #17, you can get a lot more information. An easy way to get to the sticky is by clicking on the link in my signature.

Someone referenced this in an earlier post and I'm very curious about this - does anyone have additional information regarding whether we could purchase 4 tickets for just the two of us to use? So our week stay could be covered by two tickets each? Since they load the service members info when the ticket is activated, I wasn't sure if something in the system would make him ineligable to activate another ticket. I'd had to buy 4 tix at SOG only to be rejected at the gate. :(

When this was last offered, someone called SOG and asked about this and was told that they may purchase up to the maximum number of tix and use them as they wish. Just remember that you must purchase all the tix you want at the same time.

I don't believe that any information is loaded onto the tix as it is a voucher that you must exchange at any guest services window, just like the APs.

You can purchase up to the max, but what matters is what they will let you activate at the ticket window. Depends on the person working that booth when you go to activate I'd think. I just reviewed their press release and it does not say one way or the other about an individual using more than one ticket. The best thing to do would be to call Disney and ask what their official policy is.

"For information regarding Disney 4-Day Military Promotional Tickets for admission to the Walt Disney World Resort, or to make room reservations at the Walt Disney World Resort, military personnel may call 407-939-7830 "

do the new 4 day WDW Military tix have to be used consecutively?

The way to do it, if there are two of you, is to activate two of your tickets, use them for four days, THEN activate your next two.

When you activate your ticket at the ticket window they ask for the name of everyone in your party. If there are only two of you, you can only activate two tickets. As soon as you use all four days on those first passes, you may activate new ones and use those.

Yes, that's exactly what SOG told a DISer who called with that same question during the last MS ticket offer.

Regarding the 4 day passes being bought for family members, does the service member have to be present when the pass is being used? My father, retired Coast Guard, wants to buy my DH a pass to use for our trip in January. My father would be buying the pass in November when we are not with him. Then DH & I would be there in January for our trip and my dad would not be with us. Would we run into an issue using the pass he bought for my DH?

Dad doesn't think this will be a problem, but I've read conflicting guidance on this and wanted to get some DIS'er thoughts. :goodvibes

Its not a problem if you have a dependant ID. If neither you or your husband does, then it's a big one. Only the service member or the service member's spouse with a military or dependant ID may activate the tickets. If your father is the only family member in the military and is not going with you, you do not qualify for these tickets.

They make you show your military ID at the ticket window when activating the tickets. There is no way to get around that. Also, it would be impossible for your father to buy them, activate them, and then not use them until months later. They expire 14 days after you activate the tickets.
