Disney's Magic Music Days

Hi there,

I own a dance school and am interested in having the kid's audition for Disney Magic Music Days. Has anyone done this and the workshop? I haven't been able to find out much except what is on Disney's website and am wondering what the whole experience is like. I am assuming since it is by Disney it has to be pretty amazing but any input about the auditon process, suggestions, etc. are appreciated.

We just got back from doing Disney Magic Music Days through my DDs dance school. My DDs school does this every few years and I believe that the audition part is pretty easy - they video some of the girls that will be going doing a dance and they also send in the recital tape. There is a minimum age requirement (I'm not sure whether it was our school's decision or Disney's). The youngest girl was 8. Unfortunately, the workshop minimum age is 12 so we were unable to do it this trip since my DDs are 8 & 10 BUT we will definitely do it next time we go which should be in a couple of years. DIsney also puts a limit on the length of the show.

The experience was fantastic for the girls. They did get to meet some of the Disney performers. We were fortunate that we actually danced on the day that we were scheduled to dance since the rain came half-an-hour before the scheduled time and then the sun came out. The girls were taken to Disney in full costume before the park opened and got their photo taken in front of the castle as well as the stage (Galaxy Stage in Magic Kingdom). Some of the older girls took lots of photo of the park empty!

About the only con would be the time of the year - it was so hot & humid.
