Disney's GRAND FLORIDIAN RESORT & SPA Information & Questions + Construction Updates

They do not post in the lobby anymore, for some reason. You can always look in the DVC lobby… if you come in through the back door, it should be straight ahead on the right hand side. It’s a digital board right above the DVC podium. There should also be one by the Courtyard Pool. Some have also reported seeing it on the bar top on the Beach Pool Bar.
I was staying in the original DVC building. I did not see it there either. I didn’t notice it by the pool but I was not looking for it there.

It’s always right above the podium where there’s a DVC representative. Once you come off the elevators, you make a right and it’s right there. It’s possible the screen could have been out?

I walked by there many times. Maybe it was on the screen. I was looking for the actual sign.
It’s definitely easy to walk past it if you are not looking. Unless the TV screen is out, you should always find it right there. They have not displayed the sign in months! Neither there or the main lobby. I thought the sign was nice, but maybe they didn’t feel it was fancy enough?! Cost cutting? Can only guess.

My son is at VGF now. I asked him to check when he walks by there.

Thank you for pointing this out, I would have never thought to look there since we don't stay in the DVC buildings. At least I know where to check if I don't see it by the pools. Not sure why they decided to take it out of the lobby, I know Poly has one of the screen style ones in theirs.

Will be staying at GF for 30th Wedding Anniversary, would really like a vaulted ceiling room. Would those all be on the top floor of each building?

We stayed on Friday night. We had a Deluxe villa studio booked (older DVC room) But the lovely CM moved us to new style room on the hotel side.

Room had vaulted ceiling (will get image of partner) and an amazing view of the monorail. We watched the MNSSHP fireworks from the marina and despite the building work was a magical end to our 17 night Disney vacation.W

Actually top floor and outer rooms of next floor down. The top floor is smaller than the rest. Look at any picture of gf building you'll see what I mean.

this information is probably in this thread somewhere, but I was surprised that the only way to get to Epcot from the Grand Floridian is by monorail. Or I guess you could bus to Hollywood and then take the boat to the International gateway. But either way is time consuming and not very convenient. We had not stayed there since 2011 when there was still a bus from GF to Epcot and were disappointed by this change.

Boat Transportation Between Grand Floridian and Magic Kingdom Temporarily Unavailable this week

The refurbishment of the dock is expected to be completed by the end of this week, on Saturday, September 14. The transportation service should return to normal operations once the work is complete.

Dearly hoping they’re on time with that refurb, we check in on the 18th…

It's truly insane. At Disney's flagship resort, there is no direct transportation to one of the parks.
